Mecha'thun loves Saviors of Uldum!

Since the very beginning of Uldum patch i tried to push this deck archetype through standard ranked.

After many loses and replacing a lot of cards i present You the best version of this deck for the current meta. And i have to trully say its very effective against many many decks.

In general, this deck bases on taunts, fast draws and ultra healing.

After completing this list I climbed from rank 15 to rank 10 with only one loss (but that time i wasn't using any tracking program because i was playing on a phone app). I turned Hearthstone Deck Tracker on when i was around rank 9, then reached rank 5 really easy with a 67% winrate. I recommend all of You who start playing this deck to run such program as it tells You what cards are remaining in Your decks, gathers statistics for You, gives You some feedback from matchups etc. Here is the proof

Go ahead to ask in comments about cards i choosed or i didnt choose to this deck or just ask anything so i can help You and improve this tutorial.

Start of the game

You will always play Supreme Archaeology on turn 1 no matter what.

Early game is all about surviving and drawing as many cards as possible to Your hand with Questing ExplorerMortal Coil or Bloodmage Thalnos. This period of the game is highly important for the rest of the game. If You play it well, the quest would be completed in like 7-8 rounds (sometimes even 5 but it depends on how aggresive Your opponent's deck is). Alright, here comes in the Plot Twist - this card is base for this deck but there is no rule on how to play it. I usually stack my hand to 8-10 cards, then Plot Twist and the quest is done in just few rounds. Well, each game is different so You have to choose when to play it. If You have it on hand i would recommend You to play it to finish the quest in the same round. However, when You play against non-aggro deck, You can try to play it early (when there is no pressure on the board) and pray for drawing the second one to play it in the next round, then complete quest in like 5 round.

Midgame after You complete the quest

This period of the game is Your  "happy hours". This happens around when You have 14-12 cards remaining in Your deck. So basically there are around 7-6 cards that You will play for 0 mana. 20% of the deck is pretty good for me. Especially when You draw Mecha'thun ;).  This time is all about spending Your 2 mana each round to use Your new hero power. Try to fill the rest of  Your 8 mana as You dont want to keep cards in Your hand. The deck is full of taunts, heals and removals so it wouldnt be a problem if You dont know what to play - just throw anything. Your goal is to have 0 mana at the end of each round, so always keep in Your mind to draw 0 mana card and play it plus one or two cards from Your hand. After few rounds You will probably have full control of the game untill the end.

OTK Combo

At first, play Galvanizer when You have Mecha'thun in Your hand (remember to play it after You playied 2 copies of Plot Twist because when You play Galvanizer and then shuffle Mecha'thun into the deck it would cost 10 mana again and You will miss Your OTK). So, make everything to play all Your cards before and then play 9-mana Mecha'thun followed by the Plague of FlamesPlague of Flames is a great card for this deck because in older versions of this people used Grim Rally so the board should 've been clean as f*ck to play Your combo but now You can play it with full board and its still working (remember to kill Your first form of reborn minions because You can fail combo here by mistake).

It's all about a good Plot Twist

Trust me. Its a very very good card. Basically, You want to draw the highest cost cards with an improved hero power so You can play them for 0 mana and gain both super tempo of the game and a great value. At the start of the game just keep all the cheap cards and play them early. Then shuffle expensive cards to deck with a Plot Twist. Repeat like this also with the second Plot Twist. Just lead to the situation where You play all the cheap cards at first so when You complete quest, all the expensive cards would be back in Your deck so the new hero power would be the most effective to use. When You draw Your Mecha'thun as 0 mana card and  still have the second Plot Twist in hand, just keep them till the end because 0 mana Mecha'thun is the best thing You can hit in this game. Also remember to play all the 0 mana cards before playing Plot Twist as You cannot waste Your reduced mana in no case.

The Counters

Demonic Project - I haven't seen a single Control Warlock deck in ranked since the patch release, but be careful since Thief Rogue can hunt for this card when he notice, You are playing a Mecha'thun deck.

Void Contract - decimating Your deck. You just need some luck in here.

Research Project - This is also a card I haven't seen a single time this patch but can be really really annoying for You as You have full or almost full hand through the game and part of Your combo can be burnt. But combo can still be playied thanks to reducing mana hero power - remember to never surrender)

Counterspell - A good and smart mage player will leave his Counterspell until You have only Your combo in a hand so Your Plague of Flames would be cancelled and full combo will be destroyied. In this case i recommend You to keep in hand one 0 mana random spell to counter Counterspelljust before launching the OTK combo.

Pressure Plate - this card can surprise You in few cases if You are not focused enough. Just ensure that Mecha'thun and Plague of Flames are the 2 very last cards You play and there is no problem.

Wild Bloodstinger - this is a f*cking Dirty Rat version 2, but You have enough minions in Your deck to reduce his chances of pulling Mecha'thun

Hecklebot - this is so painful when he pulls out Mecha'thun. Unfortunately, no counterplay for this, just luck :).

Unseen Saboteur - the same mechanic as in the previous 2 cards but this burns Your spell, which can be the last combo piece.

Blatant Decoy - similiar to Counterspell or Unseen Saboteur, the opponent can wait playing this card until You have 2 cards in a hand to fail Your combo

Duel! - similiar to previous ones, another card that can pull out Your Mecha'thun

Hakkar, the Soulflayer - This card hardcounters Your deck. 3 good paths that You can find in this matchup.
1) You kill the opponent before he finds Hakkar and trigger his deathrattle,
2) If You see him too many times in a matchup, just replace something with an Ironbeak Owl and silence this sh*t,
3) If an enemy triggers it's deathrattle and (!) You have all Your combo pieces in a hand just lead to the situation, where You have 10 cards at the end of each round so You will burn one card at the start of Your round. If u need to play anything in a turn, play one card from Your hand and draw to 10 with Your hero power and pray to burn the Corrupted Blood

Mojomaster Zihi - playied just before You pull out Your OTK combo can be very painful and You will probably loose really fast here (unless Your Mecha'thun costs 0).

Mortuary Machine - this is the "xD counter". This should never happen but if You meet this guy for some reason You can not complete the OTK :P.

Mischief Maker - another "xD counter". Only theoretically can ruin Your combo. In practice, probably noone will play it on ranked.

To sum up, there are only few cards on this list that can be encountered. The rest of them is only situational and very rare (would probably see it on Trolden or Hearthstone Daily Moments YouTube channels xD). In my experience, i met only one Wild Bloodstinger pulling out my Mecha'thun on board but even then i won cuz it was t6 and i had board advantage.

Thanks for Your attention!

Hope You enjoy this tutorial and deck :D.
After 20 upvotes i will make a mulligan guide, but if this reaches 50 upvotes, ill describe how to use the most important cards in this deck and describe few combos.
Cya!
