EDIT : NEW VERSION OF THE DECK (https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1341371-aoo-quest-token-druid)
Made this deck cause token druid can help have some field presence which Quest druid lacks.
5 likes and will write a guide.
Ok so this is my very first guide in the site and in general so I hope you will find it helpfull!
First of all the deck Quest Druid, is a deck built around the new Saviors of Uldum Quest card: Untapped Potential.
It requires you to end 4 turns with unspent mana,Ossirian Tear is excellent for a long-term value plan,
as well as offering swift board swings through the combination of Choose One cards' effects.
This deck as the name suggests is a token-based variation in order to use the early game potential druid has to
swarm the field with tokens and buff them once you quest is completed.
Mulligan Guide :
Generally you want to keep Acornbearer and Worthy Expedition everytime. Both are 1 mana cost cards which means a turn 2 play
and Acornbearer gifts you with 2 1/1 minions which can be placed later on to the field to create some pressure to the enemy.
Other cards you wanna keep are Dreamway Guardians(they are good both in early and in late game due to their lifesteal),BEEEES!!!,
Druid of the Scythe and Garden Gnome. The other cards are good as well but you don't really need them that early.
Druid/Rogue/Hunter Match-up :
In case you're facing a druid this is what you need to keep in mind : The person that will have true control over the board will win,
do not rush to complete your quest by using coin should you be second since he won't be able to do much in the first turn he activates
his power if you have answered most of his early threats(should you have the hand to do so)
Cards to keep : Acornbearer , Worthy Expendition , Druid Of the Scythe
Priest Match-up :
The priest match up is kinda tricky especially is he is using the quest(haven't met a lot of them so far so will probably update it),
what you wanna do in this case is to try to keep in your hand some good threats for when you complete your quest to beat him asap
since he is heavily dependant on healing his minions and hero to activate his quest
Cards to keep : Dryid Of the Scythe,Swipe,Oasis Surger,Tending Tauren
Warlock Match-up :
Most of the warlocks atm focus around the quest which means you got until turn 6-8 to gain a heavy control over the board,
try to poke his face with every chance you get since he can't do much until completes the quest. But do not swarm the board while
leaving your hand empty since an early hellfire can destroy your board and set your hand a few turns back.
Cards to keep : Acornbearer,Worthy Expendition,Dreamway Guardians,Oasis Surger
Shaman/Mage Match-up :
Probably the highest treats to the deck since both classes have Tier 1 decks. Both mage and Shaman have decks that focus on either
early mid threats or later game big minions.Your best course of action here is to keep your hand ready and answer any threats
that may appear in the board.
Cards to keep : Acornbearer,Dreamway Guardians,Power of the Wild,Hidden Oasis(trust me on this you need this since you will
probably use it at turn 6)
Paladin Match-up :
Paladin has many early game threats as he is focused on swarning the board and with his tip the scales combo he can be a really
nasty threat which can overtake you should you not be prepared.
Cards to keep : Starfall,Swipe,Dreamway Guardians,Acornbearer
Warrior Match-up :
While it can be easy to deal with should your hand be decent,he can stall the game and be a really nasty thing to deal with.
Again here you need to focus on simply answering the opponents threats till you complete the quest and swarm the board.
Cards to keep : Acornbearer,Worthy Expedition,Druid of the Scythe,Oasis Surger
Edit #1 : Removed a Hidden Oasis and replaced it with Wardruid Loti since it can provided a lot of value both in early and in later game.
That's all for now will try to update it soon with card replacements but till then stay safe and if you think I can improve
the guide please let me know!
Many thanks to Khristophesaurus Dinosaurus for the wonderful video he made showing my deck!
Now, as a person who mainly played the adventures and gathered a lot of dust through that. And never really having played normal play besides when the game was in Vanilla state, this is so much fun and im really finding it to be very refreshing. Many thanks for this Deck
The main goal of this deck is to help people have fun glad you like it xD
2 substitutions I made for the deck, since I don't have all the legendary cards:
Keeper Stalladris replaced with second Nourish (helps with control matchups)
Wardruid Loti replaced with one Blessing of the Ancients [/card] (helps with tempo matchups)
Easy wins:
- Secret Hunter Their secrets are too costly and too easy to play around. In general, their reactionary playstyle is easily exploited for massive tempo gains.
- Tempo Hunter If you establish board presence early their removal will be too expensive to catch back up.
- Cyclone Mage I found this surprisingly easy to win against since they don't have many early game minions and seem to not run Flamestrike naturally, so around turn 6 they start frantically looking for AoE-answers. Be mindful of mage AoE and you should be fine.
- Plot Twist Warlock Their deck takes too long to really get going. The heals from Broodmothers are easily outpaced and you can kill off their combo pieces like Dollmaster Dorian.
Fair matchups:
- Control / Mech Warrior Easy enough to outpace early-game, but you have to be careful of their removal potential. Gotta make sure to always have a reload in hand and possibly even some extra draw when things go wrong unexpectedly.
- Steal Rogue Annoying for sure since Rogue has so many answers, but If you don't get outpaced by an early Edwin or something you will win eventually after completing the quest.
- Murloc Paladin Only played it once so far, so this might be biased. I was able to win this matchup by completing quest asap, swiping his board, then having a favorable board presence once he dropped the first
[card]Tip the Scales and then reloading immediately to be ready for the second round. Swipe and Starfall are your friends here.
- Token Druid (no quest) Stay in control of the board and you will win eventually. Completing the quest early is not a priority here.
- Deathrattle Quest Priest More tricky, since you don't run Silence in this deck. Biggest issue seems to be Convincing Infiltrator. Try to either have or discover a Keeper of the Grove to neutralize him or flood the board to dodge the destroy effect.
Gets abolutely destroyed by:
- Token Shaman With or without quest, doesn't matter. You will get overwhelmed by all the early Lackey pressure.
- Murloc Shaman No matter how efficiently you trade the amount of reload they have with Underbelly Angler is just insane and you can't outpace them in a face-race either. Might as well just concede.
- Zoolock Same deal. The early board presence is too much to handle. You're forced to play on curve to compete on the board which means you can't finish your quest quickly enough to regain control once turn 6 comes around.
- Reborn Paladin You will be able to compete early-game, but once they complete their quest and get infinte 8/8 dragons from Mechano-Egg it's over.
- Quest Heal Druid Only saw it once so far, but they compete long enough to then outvalue you with a board full of copies of Lucentbark.
Never met Token Shaman so no experience there,Murloc shaman is winnable but you need to destroy their key card fast to win, zoolock is a hard match up but if you're lucky and have starfall and Hidden Oasis you might survive,Reborn Pali is strong but most of the times I had enough board to face and win fast,Quest Heal is an insta loss not gonna lie there.Still thanks for the detailed post appreciate it
Very cool deck! I only have Cenarius from the legends, so put in 2x Keeper of the Grove and 1x Garden Gnome. Let me know if you think there are better substitutions!
I would go with 1x Keeper of the Grove and 2x Druid of the Claw
I have switched Wardruid Loti for Floop and it seems much better (Double Cenarius ) or triple Oasis Surger
I kept Wardruid Loti since she is a general answer to most threats but yeah Floop is a solid choice as well.
This deck is actually not even that bad vs control warrior
Every ranked deck I post has to be good both against aggro and control in order for me to show it as a ranked deck.Else it's simply a fun deck to try and play
I am having ~60% wr with this deck. I like it
Good to hear!If you need any help just dm me.
I have everything except Anubisath Defender. What can I replace it with? Or do I have to craft it and is it worth? (I have a good amount of dust).
Anubisath Defender is the SoU version of Arcane Tyrant and should you have the dust you should craft it since it will be played in every druid with big spells(which are Druid's clear)if not Druid of the Claw is another solid choice
how about Druid of the Claw its a nice burst or defense i kinda like it
I will add him at the guide as a replacement to garden Gnome cause he is nice but I am still working on the whole replacement cards thing to post it xD
no floop ?
I didn't have it thought I know it can be useful.Making a list of changes and replacement cards and will be up soon floop is included in there as well
Also I am new to this site how do you make your cards name text colored and be a link to the card? For instance if someone else writes Cenarius then it is in orange and has a link to the card wiki page.
It's at the very end of the text options. Hearthpwn has a button for it - just like the button to make you thext bold or underlined.
