The quest is just another way to inch out that last piece of damage. The majority of the minions make other minions. Flask + Quest Hero power is a fairly large tempo swing. Thoughts?
I had similar thoughts with adding the quest to the mech hunter.
Due to the lack of 1-drops this makes sense, and as you pointed out, many minions spawn goblin bombs, 1/1s and such. I currently use two cards to activate the bombs (Dire wolf and Defender of Argus) which could be dropped to make room for the quest.
In about 10 games I have not been able to pop the quest, because most games are over before that time, but it does offer some nice endgame pressure if you some tokens on boards.
