Step 1: Discard your Cruel Dinomancer with Expired Merchant.
Step 2: Play you Cruel Dinomancer.
Step 3: Play Spiritsinger Umbra and destroy your Cruel Dinomancer, then you will have 6 Cruel Dinomancer that can't be cleared!
I played the deck, it was a egg zoo variant with Cube and the new 1 mana AOE warlock has it does great but gets annihilated by big priest and cthun warlock and just ok agains aggro pally, so in essence the deck is trash.
@Ixlid why do you need to play Umbra and destroy dinomancer? I think if you have discarded dinomancer before, then you can play Umbra and dinomancer and the board will be full. What do you say?
Playing both of them on the same turn needs 10 mana, and with any Cruel Dinomancer on the board already, you can play Spiritsinger Umbra and destroy Cruel Dinomancer at any time.
Very cool concept, but I think card choice could be a lot better. Seems like theres not enough draw and too much removal for a combo deck. Shriek especially seems bad since you could discard a doomsayer or other low cost minion. Definitely think there is a ton of potential here though.
I think this deck's main weakness is going to be dying before setting up the combo or dying the turn of since having a full board of dinomancers, while impressive, doesn't actually win the game that turn or set up any defense/ taunts.
So, you're going to need to consistently draw the full combo earlier, or have enough defense to play like a control deck and just wait to draw everything.
You need to play all your Dinomancers to get 6 of them, but still seems like a very good deck. It remains to be seen how viable it is after all cards have been released. I think we're going to see some crazy decks with Expired Merchant that will make people cry out for a nerf.
You don't have to play 6 Cruel Dinomancer. You can get 6 of them by playing Spiritsinger Umbra and kill your Cruel Dinomancer.
Ah, it's a chain reaction...
When they print a card that grants every minion on the board this combo will be pretty good. Until then this will feed the likes of Odd Paladin, Odd Rogue and Big Priest. It mostly beats control decks without a good wincon like Odd Warrior or Reno Warlock which are rare on the ladder anyway. Still the idea of a better Dreadsteed is pretty good.
Also I would cut Shriek for 2 copies of Antique Healbot, I think its essencial for any combo warlock list. Especially when running Zilliax.
Well... In fact it can be cleared, the new Prist card Plague of Death can clear the board
in this case you'll have three more 5-5 s, maybe you even want to build a contol version of this deck with bankers, so you'll be able to win even if your board was cleared.
You've got 2 pacts. Have you thought about adding 1 cube? I don't think 1 card will change your game experience much, but at least cube is far better than double shadow bolt.
Giving up Shadow Bolt is probably not worth it, it's a great counter to cards like Totem Golem and Hench-Clan Thug which are popular cards in wild. But I'm considering to remove one Zola the Gorgon for Carnivorous Cube, but Zola the Gorgon is better while facing some board clears like Devolve since it copies Cruel Dinomancer into your hand.
This deck is really cool. Warlock has already a lot of good control/removal tools to survive until that turn, the only problem is drawing all the right cards, but i guess with plot twist it should be easy enough.I hope warlock gets some other good cards this expansion and this can be a tier 2, maybe even a tier 1 deck easily. The problem is priest though, nowadays they play 2x psychic scream and some play 1x mass dispell. Not to mention i expect every priest to play 1x Plague of Death in the future. Thing is, priest might be nerfed to the ground after a month or so, only after that happens, this deck has a real chance.
Why would you play so many bad cheap cards? There are tons of great minions you can use instead (kobold librarian, 5 mana 4-5 taunt (deathrattle heal 4, umbra synergy), doomsayer etc). Impbalming + plot twist is never a good idea. I see that you really want to get that 2 mana minion (with witchwood piper), but I've tried getting some other combos earlier with piper (you may want to check my recent warlock decks), and it's not worth it. Btw, I'd recommend trying out the fel reaver combo, as all needed cards are cheap ( <6 mana cost) + fel reaver zilliax combo is also a good option vs aggro. I don't like your variant of the deck atm, but I'd love to see people experimenting with this archetype.
I agrees with the idea about removing Witchwood Piper, it's too slow for this deck since you need to spend a lot of mana on it. After that I've added some small minions like Doomsayer, which is a pretty good anti-aggro card and gives you chance to play Cruel Dinomancer safely.
But other ideas are probably not proper for this deck. This is a pure combo deck, which means that you only need to survive the early game, then you can play your combo pieces which basically wins you the game. All low cost cards help you to survive against aggro decks in wild, and replacing them with other late game minions is meaningless because you just need to play your Cruel Dinomancer or combines it with Spiritsinger Umbra during the late game. Impbalming doesn't matter either because the you draw Worthless Imp, you've probably already played your Cruel Dinomancer (I've replaced it with Lesser Amethyst Spellstone anyway). Of course you can give up the speed and run some slow cards, but it's more like a control warlock that adds Cruel Dinomancer combo into it, which is a totally different deck that has no comparison with this deck.
Thanks for your reply!
Love the changes. I'm still not sure about double shriek and double dark pact. I'd consider spirit bombs, the new quest (you play double twist, why not?), and maybe the soularium. Anyway we should first see if blizzard add more cheap spells + the meta might change, and these cards are rather tech.
No clue yet how often we can meet Plague of Death
Plague of Death is probably not going to see much play in wild. Priest in wild has Psychic Scream which is much better.
