Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gunnolf, and I am originally from the Land Down Under a.k.a. Australia. I am an avid gamer that has acquired a real passion for card games, which originated from my humble beginnings as a Yu-Gi-Oh collector and eventually grew from my dabbling in Cardfight Vanguard and Buddyfight, until we reached the game we know as Hearthstone.

I've played Hearthstone since the days of classic, with multiple accounts on both EU and NA servers. Despite having reached the Rank of Legend and my own personal mentality of equating 'having fun' with 'winning', I am not really a fan of meta power-grinding & net-decking, not that there is anything wrong with that. Therefore, I enjoy thinking about new, cool and fun deck ideas that push boundaries while also allowing you to win and those are what I want to share with you guys every-time I post a decklist.

I have presently become a contributing writer to WILDHS and will be posting articles there on a semi-regular basis, regarding deck-archetypes the status of the meta as well as how to get the most fun out of this game even if you aren't a big spender. If any of this sounds interesting, then I highly recommend that you check out of the website, as the writers and the owner himself are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet with great in-game knowledge (link to be website can be found HERE). You can also follow me on Twitter for latest updates.

If you genuinely like my content and would like to see me produce more of it, then please consider supporting me on Patreon. This is by no means necessary but it will definitely help me out in the long run. Thanks for Reading ^^

Deck Introduction

Hey guys. I know I've been promosing this deck for a while but now it's finally here. I know it's name is a bit of a mouthful but it actually functions really well. The reduced hero power allows you to tap more aggressively and the two alternate win conditions ensure you never have to worry either over being overrun by aggressive decks or losing in fatigue. Anyway, without anymore ado, let's get right into it.

Card Choices and Deck-building Explained

In this section, I will explain some of the card choices I opted for and the reasoning as to why they were included over potential counter-parts.

a) Bloodreaver Gul'dan: Might be self-explanatory to some. However, I did not include him just because he's a good card. The deck needed an alternate win condition and between the demons that provide healing and tempo, he seemed like a natural fit over N'Zoth, the Corruptor who doesn't provide as smuch sustain in the lategame.

b) Plot Twist: Fantastic Card that increases consistency, especially against aggro allowing you to fish for reno jackson or other necessary cards at any stage in the game.

c) Voidcaller: Yes the card is good but people might question why I am running it since I don't have Voidlord or Mal'Ganis to take advantage of. Any tempo gain is good and while we don't run the best demons we still run some pretty big ones.

(At the present time, only a few cards have been listed but I will include more if questions pop-up within the comments section regarding substitutions and why other cards were included.)

The Demon Package

As made evident by the section above, I chose Bloodreaver Gul'dan as my alternate win condition, since in my personal opinion the deck does not fucntion realistically purely on the Exodia win condition. As such I needed to carefully select a number of demons to go along with him that actually synergised with the gameplan. Here was the result:

a) Vulgar Homunculus: Good early drop, that buffs our spellstone and has taunt to help stiffle aggro to an extent.
b) Voidcaller: No surprise here, good card that gains you some tempo. See section above for reasoning.
c) Hooked Reaver: Evenlock staple and a demon was needed.
d) Portal Overfiend: Not the greatest but the rush demons allow for a little extra removal during the game and your Gul'dan turn.
e) Dread Infernal: Decent body and buffs our spellstone.
f) Aranasi Broodmother: Not the greatest body but she is a taunt and provides us with healing when draw so well worth it.

Other demons you might want to consider running are Fel Lord Betrug and Portal Keeper. The first is a way to generate more value, while the latter is a f2p variant of Portal Overfiend.

The Healing Package

Often, Reno Jackson isn't enough to see us through to the end game and as such, additional healing tech is required. Since we are running with the mana cost restriction on top of being a highlander deck, our options were limited but here they are nonetheless.

a) Lesser Amethyst Spellstone: Limited ways to buff this but even when only buffed once, it is a premum removal tool.
b) Shroom Brewer: Best combat-line in the game and flexible as it can be used to heal minions.
c) Aranasi Broodmother: On draw heal effect, talk about efficiency.
d) Reno Jackson: of course the highlight of our deck.

Of course, I also considered Refreshment Vendor since he's a tad more likely to stick with 5 health, but ultimately Shroom Brewer was more versatile. You can of course include both if you feel that you need more healing.

Win condition

Very straightforward, typically against aggro you just stall until they run out of resources and you can start buildng your life total again and against control, the majority of the time you will win with the Exodia combo but you'll be playing the deck as if you were just building to a big Bloodreaver Gul'dan turn.

Author's Notes

It is with a heavy heart, that I right this final deck guide on Hearthpwn, the site that allowed me to bring you my decks and show you the game through my eyes. While this may be the end of the website, I will continue producing content on a new platform. I haven't decided what or where it will be at the moment but I am looking forward to starting again from scratch and possibly formulate a new approach.  Thank you all for reading and with a final stroke of my keyboard we depart onto the closing credits of the guide. :)

I enjoy deck-building a multitude of interesting decks that are both entertaining and Legend viable (with some odd Free-to-Play lists mixed in). So if you like this deck (or anyone of my other ones) consider leaving a thumbs up, as it really helps in the long run! :)

Thank you guys for all your support and if you have any suggestions, let me know.
