Introduction

Here is my much demanded miracle rogue list featuring Illidan, it may not be the most competitive rogue list if you're aiming to get legend ASAP but it's certainly viable at high ranks and a blast to play! I managed to climb from legend 4000 to 1000 using this list (after dropping to 4000 before this list was optimised).

After the recent rogue nerfs - specifically raiding party - maybe we'll see miracle rogue's return as the #1 rogue deck, however I'd be lying if I didn't admit that the nerf to preparation is a huge blow to all rogue decks. Despite most people's complaints about the current meta (rogue/warrior dominated) it's been one of my personal favourite seasons since un'goro launch and the quest experimentation. This is mostly due to the decrease in power creep as 'un'goro', 'knights of the frozen throne' and 'Kobolds and catacombs' rotated out, leaving a small card pool where previously weak cards have the potential to become temporarily viable in standard, until more expansions are released. I took advantage of this by using Illidan, which  despite being around since launch, I have never been able to make work in a legend viable list. I will add a mulligan/strategy guide to this list if it gains enough popularity, however it is easier to pilot than my previous rogue list.

Questionable cards inclusions and replacements:

Bloodmage Thalnos:   Works well with fan of knives, shiv and eviscerate and has always been strong in miracle rogue thanks to the cycle and combo activation potential. Can be replaced with a second shiv.

Fan of Knives:   Token druid seems to be making a small comeback at the higher ranks since the nerfs were announced, 2 of these + thalnos make this matchup impossible to lose.

Travelling Healer:   Can be replaced with zilliax or lifedrinker, both of which are better however I enjoy the thrill of using this card, which is rarely seen in ranked. Wouldn't recommend using earthern ring farseer as a replacement as turn 3 is usually contested by other potential plays.

Illidan Stormrage:   One of the cards that inspired to me to make this list and certainly a lot of fun... However this card is definitely not worth crafting and a second exotic mountseller is just as strong.

Acidic Swamp Ooze:   Currently run as it counters the rogue/warrior meta. May not be necessary after the nerfs but I wouldn't like to predict which way the meta will turn. If weapons aren't seen I would put in a Faerie dragon as replacement.

Togwaggle's Scheme:   Useful in the warrior matchup to shuffle a high value card e.g. illidan!   Helps to dilute the deck vs bombs and gives necessary sustenance against control. Can be used for value with gadgetzhan/exotic mountseller.

Cheap Shot:   Lots of synergy here with exotic mountseller and Edwin. I've found most decks struggle to immediately remove an exotic mountseller played on curve, allowing this to be cast 4 times the turn after, which usually shuts down the game. Needless to say 8 mana to summon 4 3 mana beasts + deal 8 damage to clear opponents board is amazing value.

Exotic Mountseller:   Originally experimented with it for fun but it turned out to be surprisingly powerful! 3 cost beasts have a lot of high roll potential with king mukla, ornery tortoise, jungle panther, augmented elekk, emperor cobra. The only low roll potential that comes to mind is ironbeak owl and messenger raven, both of which I'm yet to see. Arguably a second one of these would be stronger than illidan, also synergises well with Banana Buffoon.

Sprint:   the prep nerf will certainly hit this inclusion hard but I still think its necessary, 6 mana gadgetzhan is not reliable in some first turn situations and sprint allows for some spells to be saved for illidan/mountseller combos without using them up on card draw.

Edwin Van Cleef:   I don't think I need to justify this inclusion however a second SI:7 agent would make a viable replacement.
