Token Druid is certainly the big archetype on the block for the class right now, but there are some fairly refined Lucentbark decks out there winning games. This list borrows a large percentage of cards from the standard list I'm seeing out there, but I added in a couple specific tools to stall out early threats like Edwin VanCleef or Mountain Giants (Doomsayers & Keeper of the Grove). It's still not the most competitive deck, but it's super enjoyable to plop down a bunch of Lucentbarks and wall your opponent out of the game.
You can watch me play this deck and more on Twitch below:
Fun and refreshing, but not really viable
I think that if you put in a couple acidic oozes, go for that 1 mana epic that replaces healt with armor( 1 might be enough). and two starfalls you would be better tecked against zoo/token and have a chance against rogues. also two of the card hat gives armor equal to hand size an card draw.would swap out doomsayers and one primordial instinct , one witching hour, no keeper of the grove and add another psychmelon. archmage sounds good on paper and can be neat, but not worth it imo .this deck autoloses vs big mage, but has favourable matchup vs warriors.
It's fun in a sense that it's a new archetype and it isn't agro. But if your intention is to climb up the ladder, this deck probably won't help you (currently at 15).
Decent against most warriors, though the ones I've faced don't run silence (owl with bouncer). Seems to be highly unfavorable against many other decks (40% winrate). I got destroyed by conjure mages, big/control shamans (yes, even with Floop + faceless in hand), res priest.
Played this deck, double predatory instincts feels pretty clunky sometimes, since there are only two beasts in the deck. Might aswell cut one.
But the deck itself is a lot of fun, if you can survive the early game and get those 4/8s rolling.
Think about it more like the way people used to run x2 Ultimate Infestation or some lists that were running 2x Juicy Melon. You don't actually want to play 2, but you want to play one really badly, so you just have 2 to have more chances to play it. Druid has often been built like this in the past, with 2 copies of a cards you can play only once.
he is right though, if you draw one of the grizzlies befor you get instinct you lose so much, I would rather have one instinct. two witching hour is ok, but 1 is fine as well. replace them with starfalls for greater flexibility
Damn I really want to play this deck cause it seems fun, but unfortunately I'm missing few cards :/
are the 2 ferocious howls worth replacing for doomsayers? Love the Lucentbark decks and will try this out, but just want you thoughts on it
not really they don't really deserve the same purpose, Doomsayer are nice to prevent opponent's early snowball like a zoolock or a token druid, Ferocious Howl is only a small draw and stall card. without Doomsayer you'll probably have a hard time reaching Lucentbark and starts playing with him against heavy aggro, but you can try it without if you don't face so much
how important is stalladris? is there a recommendable replacement?
maybe for heal choice
Stalladris only works off of spells which IMO has makes it not that necessary in this deck. There's four cards total that synergize with it and you often don't draw them at the same time. Keeper of the Grove isn't all that great either, and two Predatory Instincts is a bad idea. I have yet to win with the deck and while I think it's a cool concept, there's a ton of cards that shouldn't really be making the cut.
He essentially gives you two extra heals provided you use the cards in combination with him. It's also dependent on Lucentbark being down for actually getting value. In my experience, I rarely drew the cards together and I often had Lucentbark later in my deck. Maybe I got really unlucky but I never even got to benefit from Stalladris at all despite trying to hold him for combos.
