This is the budget Token Druid deck I used as part of my climb in June.
Without Wispering Woods and Keeper Stalladris, Mechs provide the necessary power for Token Druid to succeed. This insight is originally from my May budget climb, but remains even more true in the SN1P-SN4P meta.
Updated SN1P-SN4P version deck guide:
Original May version deck guide:
Been playing for about 3 weeks now. Spent too much money on making a few decks and started playing this and really loving it. Got to rank 8 with my bomb warrior and murloc Shaman deck then hit a lull and dropped all the way to 11. Built this and have been having a hell of a time palying it and got back to 8! Are there any easy 1-1 substitutions that you can recommend that add some power? Or is this pretty much as optimized as you could make it even if you could include some epics or Legends?
if you hit rank 8 you just can't go back down to rank 11. Floor is rank 10..
Well 10 and zero stars. Same shit.
Keeper Stalladris would be really good. Perhaps an EVIL Cable Rat could make room for it.
A very good deck but I had to make some changes to really get the most out of it. First, the Harvest golem is a nice 3 mana sticky minion but it does not contribute to the dynamics a token druid should have. Place one single minion (even a sticky one) doesn't give the right tempo a token druid needs. I replaced them with landscaping. 2 treants is more threatening has opponent always fears of letting a druid to go wide too early. Taking out 2 2/2 on turn 3 is not really easy unless you burn some resources which is good. I replaced Evil Cable Rat with Loot Hoarder. I found myself running out of steam quite often so drawing a card (specially when you have a developed board but no buff cards) is much more valuable than getting a lackey. With these changes I have much better results. With this deck I have more opportunities to use soul of the forest than with the most popular token druid deck. If you are wondering about the dynamics I mention for a token druid: First and most it has to go wide as much as possible....The threat of seeing a board going and with the risk of having them buffed next turn is what really prevents the opponent to develop its strategy. You force him to use his resources to kill tokens. The multiple waves of minions you put on the board does the rest as opponent does not have more clear boards. Well, at least, that's my way of playing token druid.
what do you think about Mulchmuncher?
It's too slow, you generally cannot summon and kill off enough Treants for it to come out early. Especially with this list, this does not even have Landscaping!
What would you replace for landscaping? Maybe Harvest Golem? Also I have Zilliax maybe I could replace something for that as well?
I don't want Landscaping, I think it is not good enough. I only mentioned it for Treant synergies, but I don't think you want to go down that path at all.
Zilliax is probably good enough to include, but I have not built a full-cost version yet. Perhaps one Harvest Golem can go for Zilliax.
