Check out my new Token Druid V3.0 updated list out now!
Hey Guys!
Just wanted to share the Token Druid deck I used to get to Legend over the past few days. It's so strong in the meta right now, and I had a positive winrate against all decks, including other token druids. Be sure to read my guide if you're new to token decks, or want some extra advice on playing this specific build!
I went 23W-5L overall with this deck from rank 5 to Legend, with a 75% winrate (9W-3L) against other token druids.
What makes this deck so strong is the way that you maintain pressure on the opponent, and the burst potential with Power of the Wild, Savage Roar, Blessing of the Ancients and Leeroy Jenkins is insane.
Eccentric Scribe is one of my favourite tools in the deck. Everyone seems to be sleeping on the card, and it's won me too many games to count. Its high attack makes it threatening and a must kill for the opponent, but once they pop it, you have four 1/1's which are ready to be buffed up and OTK the opponent. It's also amazing against control classes like warrior, as it leaves you a board after they brawl; it's like a built-in Soul of the Forest. Insane!
Archmage Vargoth is also a key component of the deck, and if they can't kill him after u drop him on turn 4 it's basically game over, as he snowballs out of control with all of the buffing spells.
MULLIGAN
As this is a token deck, we're looking for an efficient, low curve. This means that we want to use all of our mana each turn, to have a better chance of steamrolling the opponent.
KEEP:
Acornbearer, Argent Squire, Dire Wolf Alpha, Dreamway Guardians. EITHER: Landscaping or Microtech Controller, and Power of the Wild or Blessing of the Ancients.
If you already have a 1-2-3 play, Archmage Vargoth should also be a keep, as it's a must kill for the opponent on turn 4.
Against other Token Druids, we want to keep a Swipe aswell, as it's a great play to obliterate their board on turn 4. (Against Wispering Woods)
STYLE OF PLAY
As I said before, we want to play aggressively to win the game as soon as possible. However, there is a limit to this aggression. Part of playing this deck is knowing the opponent's deck as well - specifically their counters. There's a lot of Mage and Warrior roaming around right now, so it's important that you know their board clears, and to play around them; by either trading your minions with theirs to prevent their spells from getting much value, or holding cards in your hand for the same reason.
Mage has Blizzard and Flamestrike. When it's approaching turn 6 and 7, you might want to keep your board relatively small, or try and buff your minions to above 2 or 4 health if you can.
Warrior has Warpath, which can come down as early as turn 2, so you need to be mindful not to over-extend, and to not overload on the number of un-buffed minions you allow to stay on the board on turn 2, 4 and 6 especially. They also have Brawl, but we can counter this by playing cards like Soul of the Forest and Eccentric Scribe, which give us value on the board even after our minions are dead.
Always check if you have lethal - sometimes it's when you least expect it. If you have 3 2/2's on the board, pair them with a Savage Roar and one of the buffing spells, and that's 17 damage to the opponent's face. A few tokens can go a long way!
REPLACEMENTS
Although this deck is relatively cheap, it's still early days in the expansion, so here are a few replacements if you don't feel like crafting anything yet - or are tight on dust.
Leeroy Jenkins out, for The Forest's Aid
Sea Giant out, for Scarab Egg
Dreamway Guardians out, for EVIL Cable Rat
Wispering Woods also works great in this deck, so if you have the card and want to play it, I recommend to take out Argent Squire
You can also remove an Argent Squire and add an Acidic Swamp Ooze if you find yourself facing tempo rogue a lot.
You also might want to include Crystallizer or Floop's Glorious Gloop if you have them and want to try them out, as they have synergy in this deck aswell.
If you have any suggestions or questions, drop them down below.
Cheers :)

Violet Teacher hasn’t seen play in token Druid for at least a year now...
Went 2-6 before giving up on this deck. Either I'm the unluckiest SoB out there or this deck just plain sucks right now.
I lost three games right away because mulligans tossed both Soul of the Forests in my hand (gee thanks) and Savage Roar (oh f*** off!) while my opponents just had perfect curve.
So yeah, pass.
U can’t know if a deck is good after 8 games, even if u lose most of them. U could have had bad hand, or the opponents drew well as u said. It also takes time to learn a deck, not just a handful of games
Hey I'm currently on a losing streak and I really am not sure what to do. I'm trying to get to legend with this one but can't seem to get past rank 2. Control shamans kick my ass with Hagatha's scheme and lightning storm. Then rogues use SI, backstab, and fan to prevent me from building any momentum early game. Also they just sap the scroll man whenever I try to use him. The warrior match up is also p annoying and feels like a crapshoot most of the time. Cheers and thanks for the deck!
I hear you!
As more and more Rogues enter the meta it's been tougher to climb, as some of their turns like Waggle Pick + 2x Dread Corsair feel like straight up cheating and impossible to beat. Warrior can often be a similair story, if they draw all of their board clears early into the game.
I'm working on a Token Druid V3.0, which i'm releasing on Friday, so look out for that. I've spent a long time on my second account tweaking things, and it's been really successful, and is better suited to the meta at ranks 1-5. According to HS Replay this deck shines at ranks 6-15, but has slightly lower winrates at the higher ranks, so i've been working hard (and am nearly finished) making a deck that has the same enjoyable playstyle as this, but more crushing at all ranks, and against all decks.

Wow... I have won 8 times in a row (out of 8)... in this streak I have had the perfect mulligan only a couple of times... in my last match I couldn't play till the 4th turn and still won easily!
Maybe the best start of a deck in my 3 years in this game!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for this, Got me from 14 to 12 with 4 wins in a row. Before RoS rank 18 was my highest rank.
Vital to keep the Soul of the Forest against mage as you said in your guide.
Beat a Murloc Shaman who got me down to 7 health but kept leaving tokens (the fool!)
I replaced Leeroy Jenkins for the common 6/2 charge minion and it's useful enough as a finisher.
Heya,
First of all, very nice deck. Worked better than the other standard token druid for me. I've been going more like 50% ish winrate tho... been bouncing between rank 5 0 stars and rank 4 3-4 stars the whole time over like quite some games.
Just a question i had about the gameplay... Do we just play according to our hand / deck and not rly care too much about possible answers hoping they don't have them or do you always keep the answers in mind and play safe most of the time?
I want to make sure I'm playing this with the right mindset :p
Glad you asked. I think in a deck like this it's super important to play around your opponent. Check out my guide up above as i go into this in more detail, but you always need to be careful about playing into board clears.
The most common criticism this deck gets - as well as all the other aggro decks - is that 'I run out of cards too fast' or 'My hand is always empty'. Unless i'm mistaken this is becasue a lot of the time people try and create the biggest board they can, without taking into account what turn it is, and what counters the opponent has, which was vital for me when climbing with this deck. The way that i climbed so quickly and efficiently was because i never had too big of a board going into turn 7 against mage (flamestrike), or turn 5 against warrior (brawl) etc.
So yes, it's very important when playing this deck (or any other aggro deck), to pay close attention to what the opponent's counters are.
Hey!
It's come to my attention that some of you guys, and myself included, think that the meta has changed since i used this deck to get to legend, which was 5 days ago. There are more control warriors around looking to beat token druids, and i have a couple of changes i can propose to you guys which have helped me have a 60% winrate against warrior over my last 20 games against them (12W-8L). These changes are:
-2 Argent Squire +1 The Forest's Aid +1 Acidic Swamp Ooze
-1 Leeroy Jenkins -1 Sea Giant +2 Wispering Woods
These changes give you some more options to refill to board, making the buffing spells more consistently useable. It also helps against mech hunter and tempo rogue, who have almost no way of clearing your wide board. Hope these help those of you who feel like control decks are dominating the meta right now.

Just a note on the removal of Sea Giant. I found once I put him on the field it really forced the opponent to then spend their mana removing him rather than my tokens. Also if they do a Blizzard spell or something similar that doesn't really deal with [card]sea giant/card] and they still need more mana just for this one minion while you ready more tokens.
Just a thought :)
A useful way to show these changes would be by editing the above decklist to reflect them
An interesting take on Token Druid, love the addition of Dire Wolf Alpha and Microtech Controller! Played some games with the deck and compared it to some other builds, check it out;
(Games start at 4:14)
Awesome deck! I like how it has just enough staying power to win the longer matchups, but can go really fast if needed. 7-1 so far, only lost to a Tempo Rogue who drew all her removal and got the pick online too fast.
I love how people comment ‘this deck sucks’ on decks on here, acting as if it has nothing to do with their skill as a player. This reached legend, and tons of ppeople have posted saying the list works, and I can say for myself it’s been doing good for me.
It's very early into the expansion. What's good now is going to change rapidly.
Doesn't the meta usually "settle" around the first week?
I easily trounce this deck with any control deck, possibly you have been simply lucky in not facing control. I find it more funny, hilarious infact, that people blame legitimate concerns about the large amount of rng in this game, on people's skill.
Okay, it's my poor skill at this game I rolled the dice and got a 1 instead of a 6. There is some skill in this game, but a lot of it is pure good old rng.
By the way, even tier 4 decks have reached legend, that has not merit on how good a deck is. I once literally had someone pick random cards (who didn't play HS or any card games) and I ranked up 7 levels due to the fact my opponents had the worst draws imaginable.
I would argue that 65% of wins/losses in HS are mostly attributed to rng, 15% due to a mix of both skill/rng, and 20% due to mostly skill.
Great deck!
Wonderful deck, It works!
