please UPVOTE the deck if you like it :)
and feel free to comment any improvement you would see to it.
but remember...
This is NOT a Mid-Range Hunter deck
This is an AGGRO Hunter Deck
I'm gonna update the deck writeup to add replacement cards and other various usefull informations about it.
-thank you to all of you who will UPVOTE or COMMENT :D
now edited with in details Mulligan Advices, thanks to RiverHS for asking for it :-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GENERAL MULLIGAN ADVICES : always keep Springpaw and any 2mana cost cards (which are ; Headhunter's Hatchet, Scavenging Hyena, Dire Wolf Alpha, Hench-Clan Hogsteed)
do not keep multiple 2mana cost cards without The Coin, if you do not have Springpaw.
vs Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock : I would keep Unleash the Hounds since their most popular decks are usually developping a board with 3+ minions quite often. (keep Timber Wolf with Unleash the Hounds if you can keep a Springpaw or coin + any 2 mana cost card from the deck as turn1 play)
vs Priest & Warrior : I would keep Ironbeak Owl (since their hero power counter yours and it might stop you from finishing them if they play a minion you need to silence to clutch the win)
if you can't have Ironbeak Owl, keep Tracking, hold on it and once it's needed, dig for Ironbeak Owl.
vs some Druid, Mage, Paladin, Shaman and Warlock decks, the same advice about Ironbeak Owl and Tracking might apply, but...
this is kind of early in this new expansion to say if you will face more Aggro or Control version of them.
so I'd say think about what you seem to struggle the most against, to choose to keep it or not.
I'll figure this out more effectively as I play more games with this deck.
if you already have Springpaw and any 2mana cost card :
- I would keep Animal Companion (or Tracking if you don't have the coin)
since Animal Companion give you a 1-2-3 mana strong opener on curve, and Tracking open you a lot of option on turn3 or later, to dig for the cards you might need/want later on.
- another good choice if you have Springpaw is to keep Timber Wolf, since turn2 Timber Wolf + Springpaw's Lynx is really strong.
owl vs mage, pal, priest, warrior)
I would not recommand to keep Kill Command or any of the 8 cards in the deck that cost 4mana or more in the Mulligan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, the general idea is to focus on getting a good curve with multiple key possibilities, as this deck's goal is to win as soon as possible, before it is too late, dodge board clears, and avoid or kill big taunt effectively.
since 22 of the 30 cards are 3 mana or less, and only 4 cards are higher than 4 mana you're almost guaranteed a 3 mana or less card when you rotate a card in mulligan.
Springpaw and Hench-Clan Hogsteed have great synergy with Headhunter's Hatchet, Scavenging Hyena and Dire Wolf Alpha.
this is the most important part of the game, turn1 and turn2, if you get great value from them, then it's all about figuring which deck you are facing and play around cards that could ruin your game before you are able to bring your opponent low enough to finish it with hero power and some burst you can draw.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
if you have a little more budget, I could see Shimmerfly and/or Revenge of the Wild in this Aggro version of Hunter.
if so, I would rotate out either Timber Wolf, Dire Frenzy, Houndmaster, Dire Wolf Alpha or Ironbeak Owl.
I think I would put only 1 Revenge of the Wild since I believe 2 might be risky to end up with a bad hand, sometime.
and for those who wonder why Leeroy Jenkins is not in this list, it's only because this is a budget decklist :D
I do recommand using it, and recommand switching it with Savannah Highmane
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
again... thank you to all of you who will UPVOTE or COMMENT :D
it is really helpfull :-)
Brilliant !
Nice deck. Althought I'm not a big fan of Timber Wolf, I'm still searching by what I can replace it.
What about Master's Call in this deck?
Made it to rank 5 and have been stuck for about three days now. Not a terrible deck, especially for the cost.
I've climbed to rank 13 from 20, but now I am stuck in 13, this deck can be better with Leeroy instead of one of Tundra Rhinos I think.
Would untamed beastmaster be able to fit into this deck? If so what would it replace?
Yeah this is almost exactly the same as midrange hunter. Nice try though.
Excellent deck, definitely recommend it to anyone looking to climb ladder on a budget. Played a few games with the list, check them out;
(Games start at 4:18)
I built this deck and replaced a tundra rhino with leeroy jenkins, how can this deck be improved more? I still haven't made it to rank 25, first day on this account and i opened 2 legendaries and dusted the one from the solo adventure.
Honestly I think you’re better off keeping the Tundra and replacing a Highmane. A possible late game choice would be King Krush as well because folks don’t expect him, but I’m not sure you want to get to turn 8 to play him.
I don't understand the value of tundra rhino i see it as 5 mana 2 damage, lol. And I feel like king crush is a long term bad commitment investment.
The value of tundra is its text giving other beasts charge
Very nice deck! Played through 3 matches with it and went an impressive 3-0! Definitely some good suggestions about potentially adding Leeroy Jenkins if you have it, but we played it as posted and had a lot of success without any changes. Hope this is helpful to new players trying to figure out how to play this!
I'll see if I can setup this in a few days, I'm really busy this week.
but if you notice which match up you are losing, and you read my Mulligan advices,
I can give you some more tips :)
I would appreciate that. I think Rogue and Priest are the match ups I'm most struggling with, but I feel like I'm just misplaying
I have Leeroy and think it would be a good fit, what would you swap out? Rhino,Highmane or Houndmaster maybe?
I believe Leeroy Jenkins is a perfect fit for this decklist,
and by putting this in, you are contributing to the 'burst' power of this deck.
I think I would remove Savannah Highmane or Houndmaster
probably Highmane, you might want to draw play Houndmaster on turn4.
and Highmane will almost never clutch a kill on turn6-7, as much as Leeroy would do.
and Houndmaster would be contributing quite often to create that turn6-7-8 kill as a 4-3 body and a +2+2 on turn4-5-6
Having played it a bit I think you could definitely dump both Highmaines for upgrades. Houndmaster at least can be a powerful combo at 4 mana with any other beast
Hey, I'm struggling with this deck aswell but I think I'm just not playing it right. Can someone upload a video of a game or two and post the link so I can see where I'm misplaying? Thanks
Hey, I just posted a video in the comments.
