Yesterday I got from Rank 10 to 5 in just couple of hours with this version Rush Warrior. This deck performs very well, and I want to share with Warrior players.
I personally believe that Rush Warrior only gets stronger after the upcoming nerfs are live. So better start practicing it :)
There is a deck-show case video at the end of this guide, not played by me, but you can see the deck in action!
Play style:
Just like all the Rush Warrior, it's very similar to the old Tempo Warrior. Get the board, make efficient trades if needed, overwhelm your opponent. This deck destroys any Mecha'thun Decks thanks to Mojomaster Zihi, it goes toe-to-toe with Odd Rogue and from my experience the favor is on Warrior's side because of the unfair Rush Trades and Scourgelord Garrosh. This deck beats also Hunters, Priests, Odd Paladins, Zoo-lock. So yea, it's pretty much a meta-killer.
Muligan priorities:
1. Kelseth
2. Town Crier + Eternium robot... and ONLY If you're against Paladin: Blood Razor weapon.
3. Frothing Berserker
Few key card explanation:
Spirit of the Rhino
Use this card wisely, this is one of the major strength of this deck, but don't muligan for this. With this on board you can forexample use Inner Rage on Zilliax for boosted heal and your Zilliax keeps his Divine shield because he doesn't receive damage.
So this is a really frustrating card for your opponent to deal with.
Sudden Genesis
This card does actually surprising well in this deck. You can use it with Kor'kron Elites + Inner Rage for an alternative finnisher.
But it gets even better when you can use Sudden Genesis on an Akali buffed minion. When that happens, victory is most likely to you.
A tip: Don't hold this card for too long, sometimes it's better to just use it, instead of waiting for Kor'kron Elites. Multiplying from just 2 to 4 minions is usually just good enough.
Inner Rage
Activate Grommash like the old days, the 0 mana makes it very flexible card. In this deck the attack damage is very useful for cards like Akali (overkill), Darius to make the kill. But also easy to to pull of a nice Sudden Genesis, multiplying Kor'kron Elites, Frothing, Hulks or whatever you wish.
Festeroot Hulk
Nice synergy with Rush minions, and nice target for Sudden Genesis. You can see this as big brother of Frothing Berserker, just like Frothing this is a minion your opponent can't really ignore.
Mojomaster Zihi
This is the OTK killer, this is the new version of Loatheb, in this meta, Mojomaster Zihi is actually even better than Loatheb, it kinda delays Mecha-thun for 3-4 more turns, which is unacceptable for Mecha-thun players... definitely a must have if you hate playing against OTK decks.
Sul'thraze
Nice weapon, can be used to buff Frothing Berserker, but also 16 face damage. Super Collider is alternative, but makes the deck slower. Neither of them are inferior in this deck if you ask me, but you definitely have trade-off.
Countess
There is no Acolyte in this deck, so Countess Ashmore is a nice addition to refill your empty hand abit.
Grommash Hellscream
Irreplaceable. Grommash is a 10-13 damage finnisher. it's this deck's game-ender. It's the last minions your opponent usually see before the game is over.
Scourgelord Garrosh
Garrosh has a very nice synergy with Grommash and Frothing. The board clear is a game-winner, this card prevents you from losing the board control, a very flexible card because even if there is no board to clear, 12 face damage is nice to have. And Warrior's basic hero-power is actually pretty useless in this deck, especially in "minion-combat deck" a whirlwind is much more useful, so it's never too early to play this card.
Match ups:
Favorable: Any OTK Mecha-thun, Beast Hunter, Spell Hunter, Priest, Odd Rogue, Odd Paladin, Zoo-lock
Not favorable: Mage with Jaina, Taunt Warrior, Control Warlock and of course most important one: bad muligan.
Not favorable doesn't mean you auto-lose to them, it means it's most difficult one... but you CAN definitely win.

Only aggro and face decks cost below 7k dust thats not fair.... welcome to "f2p" game
You guys all need to get over the whole F2P game. This is not and never was F2P. Play this game for more than 2 hours and from Day 1 and anyone would know it's not a truly F2P game. It was billed as such by Blizzard but anyone with a clear head can tell it was not. I mean any deck building game you pay for cards. My son plays Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh and you have to pay for those packs. Just because it's digital doesn't mean it's not the same concept. We live in a digital world, it's just how it is. If anything the fact that you CAN earn free decks just from playing from time to time is a good thing. Yet this is another marketing stunt by Blizzard. Point being, we all know what it is so we need to stop complaining about it at this point, how many years in?
I don’t understand why there are so few people playing rush warrior. Spirit of the rhino is so powerful...
One day, they will see 😬
maybe because 30% of the cards are legendary?
Yes that’s a very good reason
and there are no good replacements because almost all the neutral rush minions are either legendaries or bad in this deck (except Amani War Beast)
Much more fun than playing control warrior! Fresh air to the meta. Thanks!
Is it possible to play tempo decks including this one without Keleseth?
I personally have not tried it. But I think it's possible to win games and climb to rank 5 with Rush Warrior without Keleseth, instead you have to use Woodcutter Axe and Battlerage. As long as your deck consist of similar win-conditions like Frothing Berserker, Grommash, Akali and similar heavy pressure like Kor'krons, Darius and Festeroot Hulk etc I think it's possible.
Woodcutter playstyle has a higher skill ceiling in the early game, you have to make the right choices. Meanwhile Keleseth is just "dropping it on the board and your minions in deck gets buffed", and you minions automatically overwhelm your opponent. Only way to know which one is better is by playing the Woodcutter Axe build a lot, and get the experience.
I personally think it's possible, but you need to play better to achieve similar result. I saw ThijsNL using a Rush Warrior with Woodcutter Axe in Rastakhan.
I play a tempo rush warrior deck without Prince Keleseth. Mainly because I don't like the reliance on drawing him, but also because there are so many good 2-cost cards that fit into these types of decks:
Battle Rage Cruel Taskmaster Woodcutter's Axe to name some of them :)
Don't know which is better though, cause dropping that mofo of a card Prince Keleseth on turn two is just so good.. Armoring up on turn two is, on the other hand, very bad in a tempo deck imho
Edit: also, thank you OP for posting this deck and spreading the tempo warrior love! Nice and fresh list :D
Favourable against priest? Tell me how. I run a similar deck and both priest versions (otk/Big resurrect and control) are a nightmare. Lately I got so upset that I'm just auto-conceding to those decks. It saves me a big deal of frustration and 10-15 minutes. Also hunter I would say 50/50% if spellstone on 4/5( hopefully after the patch this deck performs better) and zuljin with miracle kill commands ( I wish i could understand the random of 85% of times there are more valid targets on my opponent's side and kill command keeps hitting my most valuable targets).
I see this match being more favourable against even pally than priest.
I play a wallet version of this deck (same 1 drops, bigger minions, scouts, boomship, woecleaver) mostly levels 10 to legend last month and Played a lot of priest.
Versus Big resurrect, I generally lose when he plays Gallery early (turns 9 / 10) but otherwise it’s generally a win. I’d say 50/50.
Against Control Priest, you can control the board and keep high health level. Then he drops Alex... the main trick is simply to keep Zilliax (+ Rover) for after Alex. In this scenario I generally win. Globally I’d say Rush warrior is favored.
Against OTK, you play on tempo mode, trying to avoid a very bad Mass Hysteria, and pray that you win the race. It works regularly (50/50 ? I’m not sure but definitely far from auto loss).
Rush warrior is definitely favored against Hunter, or I wouldn’t have reached Legend, globally you need to keep the cheap rush minions to kill hyenas and then only Zul’Jin is a major problem. Sometimes he doesn’t show up and some other times your opponent has to play it early to survive and you win anyway.
The only deck that I can’t beat is control warrior, without the quest. With the quest it’s generally a win.
Not sure if my experience fully applies to this particular version of rush warrior, though. But in this one, Mojomaster should definitely help against most Priests.
Priest is imo one of the more easier match up...
Yea... sometimes they are lucky and we are unlucky... that can happen. But the winning favor is definitely leaning towards to Rush Warrior, at least with the way how I play.
What I do is just keep pressure up and play around Mass Hysteria/Board clears, don't drop your whole hand, but also keep the pressure up high enough that he will lose if he doesn't do anything.
When I have Sul'thraze I keep using it all on the face damage (in this scenario, Super Collider isn't good weapon), and with a single Kor'kron Elite on board, the Priest has to tank a Ragnaros fireball every single turn. It usually ends up he starting to do desperate/panic moves, but I keep replenish the board with new minions, If I manage to draw Grommash it's usually guaranteed over, because I've most likely an activator in hand and a few minions on board. Even without it, all the Frothing 2x Berserkers, 2x Festering Hulks, 2x Kor'krons, Darius + Sudden Genesis usually overwhelms the Priest at one point.
But yea, if he gets Zilliax and he keeps resurrecting Zilliax... and you have kinda weak hand, it can be tough. But that's kinda the worst case scenario and nature of Hearthstone. It doesn't happen enough.
Same with Spell Hunter, 12/12 on turn 5 it just isn't that common enough, more like Turn 7-ish, and Warrior most likely wins every time it doesn't happen. And even if the Hunter pulls off big Spellstone on turn 5. You have bunch Rush minions and Spirit Rush totems to reclaim the board and play defensively.
I still stand with my initial favorable/unfavorable matchups. The only decks I really felt powerless are Taunt Warrior, Mage + Jaina.
Yeah we don’t play the same deck. Your version is faster so you probably can break control warrior or priest more easily than me. My version has much more resources so I can win even when warrior has completed his quest, or when Jaina is here.
Odd mage, for example is almost auto win for me (I lost once). Control mage is more difficult because more removals, and meteor hurts a lot.
After some games today I partially agree with you. I changed the way I was playing against control priest, going for a more control oriented game over tempo, and it works way better. Cloning gallery/res still same nightmare, I need a almost perfect start. And they have so much come back( kelen/maly + spirit link, zilliax, rev huge taunts). I don’t see how that match is even 50/50. Still want to see after the nerf odd rogue, it was the easiest games, the only that I lost was for some ridiculous cold blood bursts of damage.
Good to see tha you are less desperate against priest :)
yes, Odd rogue is almost auto win !
Excellent deck which will only get better tomorrow after the nerfs! It's fun, intuitive and refreshing and that really wanted in a new warrior deck!
I made a video in order to showcase the deck in all its glory, I really hope you all enjoy it.
Any particular reason for no Brawl? Or anything I can sub for it? I keep getting overwhelmed by Warlock decks running Voidlord and Gul'dan
I guess there is no brawl because it is a tempo deck and brawl kinda beat that purpose
missing few legendaries, but good thing is it doesn't loose many cards after rotation, so after rotation this could be nuts
Awesome deck, Master
