Hello again, people! Here i am again trying something quite weird.

Blackhowl Gunspire is one of most unique cards in the game and can be very powerful but making it work is a completely different story. The card is too slow and clunky to be played on its own. It doesn't do anything upon entering the board and can't even attack. So it ends up working as bait for removal and that's it. Not worth adding to any decks just for that. But i still believe that its time to shine will come. After thinking for a very long time i realized that it's possible to play it and get immediate impact but that requires some setup.

There are two ways to do this. The first thing we can do to make it work is by playing it in a regular mech warrior deck and using Galvanizers to reduce the cost of Dyn-o-matic to 3 mana. Dyn-o-matic's battlecry deals damage to any non-mech minions and Blackhowl Gunspire isn't a mech (for some weird reason). So by playing the spire followed by the mech when you have 10 mana will enable five triggers of the spire's ability. But things can go very wrong exactly because of Dyn-o-matic being able to target anything non-mech. So, if your opponent's board has any non-mech minions, there's a serious possibility of Dyn-o-matic not hitting the Gunspire at all. This combo exists since Boomsday.

The other way is much more reliable because it's 100% guaranteed to hit only the Gunspire. This is possible because of the addition of Helpless Hatchling from Rastakhan's Rumble expansion. Loose Specimen is an epic beast card from Boomsday and it's the trigger card for the combo. The hatchlings will help reduce the cost of the specimen to 3 mana thus allowing Blackhowl Gunspire and Loose Specimen to be played on the same turn for 10 mana and providing 6 triggers of the spire's ability (as long as you don't have any other minions on your side of the board). Be aware that Baku the Mooneater and both Direhorn Hatchlings and matriarchs are beasts. So, be sure to play them before sacrificing the hatchlings or you won't get the discounts you need.

I'm still experimenting with the combo and trying to find ways to make it faster. I'm currently using it alongside an Odd Dragon Warrior shell. However, the deck is too slow and too passive. This isn't an otk combo. I'm using Alexstrasza to see if i can turn this into a win condition. It's possible to kill your opponent with this but it requires a lot of luck or your opponent's board being empty and they having 18 health at most. Any armor gain and lifesteal will immediately shut off any possibilities of you killing your opponent with this as well.

My next step will be trying this with different approaches. I'll try a rush package, an aggro package, enrage package, non-odd variant and etc. But my impressions so far are that this just makes the deck inconsistent. It's a way to work with the card but it's still too clunky, i'd say. I still have faith that Blackhowl Gunspire will work someday. Or maybe i'm just delusional...

Thanks for reading! See ya!
