Mulligan:
always keep: Wrath, Ferocious Howl, Oaken Summons, Branching Paths (Card draw is the most important thing to keep because it allows you activate combo with Mecha'thun)
vs aggro: Wild Pyromancer + Cheap spells, Lesser Jasper Spellstone
vs control: Acolyte of Pain, Gadgetzan Auctioneer
Cards that might be included:
Swipe - it helps in board control and can easily kill 1/1 tokens played by odd paladin
Twig of the World Tree - Great way to get more mana to cycle thru deck faster
Starfall - another way to clear the board
Spreading Plague - it's the best card against wide boards but it might mess up with your Mecha'thun combo because you need a clear board in order to trigger deathrattle of Mecha'thun
Malfurion the Pestilent - generates a lot of armor with upgraded hero power
Bloodmage Thalnos - it makes Oaken Summons weaker but at the same time you still get a card and spell dmg synergies with a bunch of spells
Win Condition:
Plan is super simple. Draw and play all cards from the deck. In the end play combo to win the game: Mecha'thun -> Innervate -> Naturalize. Against aggro decks you might prefer to focus on a different strategy. Armor Gain and Wild Pyromancer with few cheap spells can deal with most of aggro decks. If it;s not enough you still have a combo.

get a life clown
I had dropped games to a couple Mecha'thunlocks. I used this list just hoping two run into one. When I finally did, and obliterated them bc this deck is so much faster, I was pleased, too, but according to some I must also need to get a life. Maybe, I should start trolling people on Hearthpwn. Yeah, that seems like a life.
Why don't you get one?
And now the usual, really important question:
Any replacement for Mecha'thun?
;-)

any replacement for Branching Paths?
You need carddraw, so you could use Nourish.
It really works. And good thing that you can choose effect - op card draw if you need draw, and only 4 mana spent if you already don't need it. In matches when I tested this deck - it would not made huge difference getting +1 to creature's attack or only +6 armor.
a deck that can de beaten with just one card. Not the sign of a solid deck. If it becomes too popular the meta will tech with sulking Geist so enjoy it while you can.
This deck is absolutely fantastic! it seems to be doing great on the ladder currently and on top of that it's great to come back to something that defeats hunters without too much problems :D
I made a video showcasing the deck in all its glory, I really hope you guys enjoy!
Depends on cards that you got. It can be helpless vs hunters.
I'm wondering, would including Hemet be a good thing to do?
To make sure we skim our deck faster whenever we drew our combo?
My advice would be that the fewer minions the better. The problem with Hemet would be that you would have to kill him off too.
Hemet will destroy Innervate and Naturalize, which is part of the combo. This deck can draw the whole deck in around turn 12. By the time you drew both the combo and Hemet you probably already emptied your deck. While Hemet just make it harder to pull off the combo as you have to play it and kill it.
okay makes sense, i was thinking about making sure i had mecha 'cthun, innervate & naturalize when using him, but yeah, i have to get rid of him too..
Today this deck took me from rank 5 (zero stars) to rank 4 (three stars).
12 games and 10 of them won.
Lost only to a big spell mage with geist. The other lost game was due to a disconnect.
It is almost always an auto lose against geist, however I've seen versions where they tech in floop to play against decks with geist. You save wrath and a moonfire to kill it off after you play Mechathun as a 10/10. If you have the card is actually an interesting addition, is a useful card even without this purpose.
Interesting thought.
What do you cut in order to get Flobbidinous Floop in?
And I suppose that you then also cut Oaken Summons because of the risk of pulling Floop out of the deck, right?
However, I am now at rank 2 and only see Geist very seldom, so I do not think that it for me - at the moment - is necessary to bring in Flobbidinous Floop.
Strong deck, beats aggro , beats hunters, beasts slow decks.. only counters are control locks and control mages with skulking guy but there are not many such decks in play anyways. Only not sure about otk priest but guess if you draw your deck soon enough you still beat them.
