Mulligan:
always keep: Lost in the Jungle > Fire Fly (Pro Tip: when you have coin against odd paladin play both minions to have bigger chance of winning board control) > Righteous Protector > Argent Squire -> Raid Leader > Unidentified Maul > Stonehill Defender (Pro Tip: always pick Sunkeeper Tarim) > Witch's Cauldron -> Corridor Creeper (always keep this card)
vs control: Blessing of Might (play this on a minion with divine shield)
!Best cards to keep in opening hand: Lost in the Jungle and Corridor Creeper!
Card Replacements:
Witch's Cauldron -> Ornery Tortoise
Prince Liam -> Cobalt Scalebane
Leeroy Jenkins -> Cobalt Scalebane
Key cards explanation:
Prince Liam - great against control decks and priests (Psychic Scream), allows you to change your useless 1-cost cards to bigger and better legendaries
Stonehill Defender - allows you to discover OP cards like Sunkeeper Tarim or Tirion Fordring
Witch's Cauldron - when you trade, you get more value/spells or it protects your minions from AoE dmg like Defile, Hellfire, Blizzard etc. (it will only kill small minions and Witch's Cauldron will be out of range). It's better to play cauldron later than turn 3 because you sacrifice too much tempo.
Frostwolf Warlord - worse version of Level Up!
Cards that might be included:
Bloodclaw, Saronite Taskmaster, Blood Knight, Ironbeak Owl, Ornery Tortoise, Void Ripper, Cobalt Scalebane, Boisterous Bard, Vicious Fledgling, Bittertide Hydra
Proof:
no chance vs control mage
this deck is a lot of fun! +1
"It's okay"
Lower levels I am not really running into priests So I replaced Liam with the rushing bot legend I threw in the 1/3 bots and Roo bots over squire and whatever else and it works well. Though Cauldron has not been a factor in anything yet. Considering pulling it out for card draw until later levels... if I ever get there.
On a win streak so far with this deck but am only at rank 15 from 25 after coming back from a LONG break
- Havent had a chance to actually try prince liam yet. I understand exactly why hes in the deck but just havent faced a priest or warrior to use it with yet
- Cauldron won me a game by getting a hex which pooped on his megabuffed lynessa to win the game. I enjoy the RNG of it but I guess it's a flexi spot with divine favour if you prefer digging through your own deck for answers.
Great deck, its fast and effective which is all you can really ask from a deck!
Absolutely loved playing with this deck especially with 2 cauldrons but I've run into a massive wall of control priest and OTK paladin at rank 4/3 that I can't seem to compete with. Am I playing too slow or wrong in general? Do I need Prince Liam? Would Odd rogue be a good counter to Priest? Thanks for the great deck :)
Wonderful deck. I only don't understand, how to play this against Secret Hunter.
Against other decks, even with mediocre hand, I can reasonably expect a close game, but with Secret Hunter, even if I have top draws, it is not clear what should be the strategy. Do you have any tips?
I went against this deck a few times with my odd quest warrior, and the minions/spells generated by Prince Liam/Witch's Cauldron really gave me a run for my money. Some might think they should be cut, but matchups like these would be pretty one-sided without them.
Great deck, it gets me up there again, thanks bro
very fun deck, and also competitive
Fun deck, but the version without liam is better. I played about 20 matches (on legend rank) with liam, and maybe played 1 or 2 semi usefull legendarys. The problem is that most marches end before turn 10. If you play liam at 5, you might draw one or two random legendarys (which often suck) before the game will end. Its just not really impactfull.
Very nice deck. I didn't have Prince Liam nor Leeroy so I added in an extra Cauldron and Divine Favour. It's working very well against the new meta and I'm currently on a winstreak
I replaced 1 x Acherus Veteran with 1 divine favor. Any opinions on this? Or am I doing it wrong somehow.
You're doing the right thing. With so many wasteful cards, you're going to run out of juice quickly without card draw.
I just don't get the point of having Prince Liam in this deck.
Read the section "Key cards explanation" in the guide and you will find:
Prince Liam - great against control decks and priests (Psychic Scream), allows you to change your useless 1-cost cards to bigger and better legendaries
How the hell is it good against Psychic Scream? It can definitely be cut...
If 7 1/1 dudes get shuffled back into your deck it's better for them to become random legendaries. That's how the hell.
Love this list, definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a fun twist on Odd Paladin! Played a few games with the deck, check them out;
