Warlocks have Reno and Kazakus. Warlocks have an insane hero power with Genn. Warlocks have Bloodbloom and Cataclysm for an easy Mecha'thun combo. Why not combine all those facets to make one deck??
For this deck you should play like Evenlock. Tap aggressively to fetch your big threats to play them early, while at the same time fetching Reno, Kazakus, and Hemet. Sometimes you'll win well before coming close to drawing out your deck by beating down Control or by stabilizing against Aggro.
Mecha'thun will be your win condition if your big threats get answered and/or you couldn't draw them quickly enough. How to pull off the combo:
1) Play Hemet if and only if you have Bloodbloom in your hand
2) Play Thaurissan if and only if you have Mecha'thun AND Bloodbloom in your hand
3) Once you're out of cards, use the Thaurissan-discountered Mech'athun + Bloodbloom + Cataclysm combo.
4) ???
5) Profit
I've been playing a deck with the same concept lately. Right now I'm slowly cruising through lower ranks without much problem.
I'm using a bit more hard removal (Blastcrystal Potion & Corrupting Mist) instead of minion damage, more disruption (Dirty Rat & Gnomeferatu) instead of defense, and more situational tech (Skulking Geist & Spellbreaker). Those latter two felt like not very useful lately, but I'm a casual player (1-3 games a day) so I'm not very keen on meta.
I also don't have Hemet and play The Lich King for endgame value. This sure makes my games longer, but I don't mind long games. Even though I wonder if Hemet affects the winrate on higher ranks…
Also, it was sad that Rastakhan had almost nothing useful for this deck. I've got High Priestess Jeklik and it feels okay even without discard synergy. Have you tried it? I didn't think about Belligerent Gnome much, but maybe it's better tool against aggro, because of lower cost.
Hey man. Thanks for sharing. What is your experience so far? Is it better than the "normal" quick Hemet version?
It's actually more fun and memey than successful, it's mostly for showing off better when you win. It holds its ground around Ranks 12-14.
Thanks for the answer! That's sad though, because I wanted to use it for a legend climb. Atm I am using the non-highlander version but with Reno and Hemet. And it helped me getting rank 2. The only bad matchup is any kind of aggressive rogue (so poretty much all rogues atm, haha).
