Greetings customers, the Bilgewater Banana Company is the hottest new banana supplier in all of Azshara (and is absolutely definitely not a cover for an intricate money laundering scheme!). Endorsed by the universally loved Trade Prince Gallywix, the company already has profits far exceeding any of the competition, as is evidenced by the never-ending hand-fulls of cash.
Today, lucky customer, we are looking for new management (we here at the Bilgewater Banana Company accept no responsibility for the last manager's tragic 'accident'), and it could be YOU! In case you aren't already convinced, you should meet the team coming from as far afield as Booty Bay and Gadgetzan.
Central to our organisation are of course the Bananas themselves, grown on only the finest Vilespine Slayers and harvested by a dedicated team of hozen: the Banana Buffoons. The banana department is led by the much esteemed King Mukla, although it is worth keeping a few eyes on him to make sure he doesn't give too many to charity.
Not that charity is bad. Not at all. We even have our own charity department led by Lorewalker Cho, and the Trade Prince himself can be very charitable. We even keep a couple of Questing Adventurers out of unemployment.
Finally, it is unfortunately necessary to dispel a few rumours about our bananas being hallucinogenic and about us acquiring our money through less than innocent means. There is of course not a shred of evidence for either claim, but to reassure you we have hired no less than the princess of Gilneas Tess Greymane, who is guaranteed to identify any stolen goods. Not that there are any stolen goods of course!
Wait, what's that? It sounds like Sergeant Sally's doing the rounds again, so we've got to Vanish.

Psst, customer. I'm sure you've been thinkin' hard on our little proposition. No doubt you are thinking "man I'd love to take the reins but I just don't have the experience in the banana business sector".
Never fear, with thanks to Nozdormu we have had contact with an alternate timeline (think alternate Draenor but in Azshara) where the company has already found a new manager in KiwiiNbacon, and he has put together a little promo video to help sell ya:

Yep this deck works really well against all the tier 1 standard netdecks that this moronic 'game' community play in wild.
Great Thess theme deck. :-). Thats the kind of creativety i like.
The double espionage seems to much. As suggested Shaku would perfectly fit for one.
Ps: How do you get those decks so well promoted?
The level of attention the deck has received is honestly a big surprise. I made a forum post to which no one replied but I guess it had enough views to guide people here, and when this page received a few likes and made it onto the front page of HearthPwn it snowballed.
Certainly the strength of the deck is not its power (you are absolutely right that it is unoptimised) but its theme. The story I built around it found a much wider audience than the fact it is fun to play; that only got recognised afterwards. I have seen a few decks in the past get lots of attention purely because of the theme - there was one recently where the whole deck was cards with artwork of pretty women - even if the deck is utterly hopeless and probably not even very fun to play.
Not that I would suggest forcing a theme on top of a deck you were building because of the mechanics. You might be able to tell a story with your Dragonriding Murlocs deck for example (perhaps Genn Greymane tried to teach the murlocs how to turn into worgen but accidentally turns them into dragons instead?), but is that worth cutting the Chillblade Champions and Val'anyr just because they don't fit thematically?
Ultimately what matters most as a deck builder is that you have fun playing it. If it gets attention and feedback then great, but that should always come second to simply enjoying the deck yourself.
Good luck!
Thanx for the answer. The theme and a good story can indeed get attention and sowball. And yes it´s all about fun and i love to build fun decks where the oponent just sits there not knowing what the heck is going on :-). Currently testing a "Gift" druid. I often build decks (and other stuff) from an idea or theme and then go for optimisation (I can´t resist it´s in my nature. I had been a MTG pro 20 years ago so ...) as long as it doesn´t break the spirit of the deck and i think shaku is fully in the decks spirit. I made a lot of decks like eternal Zerek but when a deck can´t hold at least 50% it goes to the archive sooner or later. The best theme deck looses it´s fun quite fast if you can´t win games with it.
This deck is super fun! People don't expect to see the cards that are in this deck. After playing Cho, this guy was highlighting each of his cards like 50 times lol. Before the month ends I am going to play this deck on ladder. For now I am just playing casual.
Ah yes, the old Cho confusion. His main strength is that so few people have any experience playing around him.
When the market closes, any leftover bananas should be fed to Yogg-Saron, Hope's End
I am going to try this deck with Yogg, but for now I am sticking to the cards on this list.
This deck is crazy fun. I also went 8-2 with it. I imagine hearing opponents saying "What the heck.... why would he play..."
What always makes me smile is seeing the red glow around a minion for a few seconds after I've played it, when I have to imagine my opponent didn't even know what the card does, or perhaps that it even existed.
I once had someone add me as a friend after a game in the Blackrock era asking if I was a dev playing with unrevealed cards for the next expansion. I wasn't of course, it was just Flame Leviathan and Toshley catching him (and everyone else) off-guard.
i'm actually amazed that i'm seeing pirate warriors with cursed blade while playing this deck. shit is an absolute embarrassment to play that deck. whoever came up with pirate warrior should visit this page and take some notes on how to make a fun deck. and yes im tilted cause i faced that deck idk how many times now trying to play this deck. frustration is real lol.
I feel ya! its hard just to have a bit of fun while completing ya dailies atm.
Am trying this atm with Shaku in place of Trade Prince...but you best believe i'm crafting him if i have as much fun as it looks....now lets see if i can face anything other that Tier 1 Try Hard decks in Casual today :-(
I always feel uneasy pushing anyone to craft things, but Gallywix has been one of my favorite cards since GvG (granted I am a long-time value/mid-range rogue main so my viewpoint is a bit skewed). His stats are just so perfect and his effect is almost pure upside surprisingly often. People often assume giving your opponents coins is worse than it is because back when he was in standard old tempo mages and force-savage druids would punish you for it. It is quite rare the coin matters much nowadays (just don't play him against miracle rogues!).
Both he and Lorewalker Cho are pretty good in tempo and mid-range decks to protect your board or punish removal, and he's actually the original burgle card so he naturally fits well in burgle decks. If you have Troggzor the Earthinator you can also adapt the Banana Co. deck into a pretty hilarious anti-spell deck too.
Anyway, best of luck!
That's awesome. Cheers mate!
dude holy **** this deck is absolutely too fun.
This is without a doubt the most fun I have had playing hearthstone in the past few months, I hope thats also the case for you as well. I definitely recommend this, you won;t regret it. Of course I made a video Showcasing the deck in action for you all, I hope you enjoy :D
Brann Bronzebeard and Loatheb have found and shut down my Bananas production line. What do I do pls halp.
Shut down? You are viewing it all wrong. Sudden hyper-inflation is perfect. Just think about how valuable those bananas are, and you have a monopoly on them!
If you are still not satisfied, I often find the banana market value returns to normal if you wait a while.
is it worth dusting Guldan for this deck?
