So Spiteful Summoner has been tried in zoo before, but that was a while ago. I thought that with the new Rastakhan card Demonbolt it deserved another try, and turns out it's pretty good!
You might ask what the point is in including Spiteful Summoner instead of the usual package. I think that it adds just enough late game to close out more evenly matched games, and having Demonbolt isn't the worst thing in the world, especially because it's zoo. Twisting Nether can help in certain situations as well, especially if you fall behind.
If this deck gets like 8 upvotes I'll try to write up a general guide with mulligans.
Well, it seems like people really like this deck, so here's my attempt at a guide!
Edit: I swapped out the Void Contract for Twisting Nether, because all combo decks except for OTK Paladin and TTK Mage were nerfed to smithereens.
KiwiinBacon made an awesome video on this deck, check it out!
User Khristophesaurus also made a video on this deck, check it out!
Basic Strategy:
So Zoo has always been an aggressive deck, but this particular version adds some late game by including Spiteful Summoner. You want to play just like you would any other Zoo deck, playing for board control early and going face when you need to close the game out.
Basic Mulligans:
In general you want to keep Flame Imp, Kobold Librarian, and of course Prince Keleseth. The early tempo plus being able to damage yourself early is great!
Against Aggro:
You want to keep all previously mentioned cards along with Voidwalker and Happy Ghoul+Voodoo Doctor. Being able to help control the board easily is one of the most important things you can do as Zoo. Despicable Dreadlord is also just so important against Even Paladin or Even Shaman in order to regain control if it's lost in the early turns.
Against Midrange:
Vicious Fledgling is an incredible card if you're going second as you can steamroll the entire game just from that one card. If your curve works out you can keep Fungal Enchanter along side Happy Ghoul and Lightwarden. Those cards can lead to the insane tempo turns needed to close out close midrange matches.
Against Control/Combo:
Usually you don't want to keep anything other than cards which can be used against Midrange decks, because sometimes if you keep Spiteful Summoner you draw all your big spells before you can play it. Vicious Fledgling is pretty much always a keep against control decks due to being able to win you the game.
Bad Matchups:
Now that the meta is going to be turned upside down by nerfs, I'm not entirely sure what matchups you can expect to run into, but Secret Hunter was the definite worst matchup before nerfs, so look out for that.
Odd Rogue also gave me some trouble, but it is winnable if you can draw well.
I didn't meet many Odd Warriors, but I assume that it would also be a difficult matchup, depending on hands.
This deck does ok against most other decks, but we have no idea what the meta is going to be, so good luck!
Card Choices:
Coming Soon.
Thanks for checking out my deck and the guide if you got this far, and if you want to make a video on it, go ahead, and I'll add it to the guide!

Yeah, it's sad, but what are you gonna do? Metas change :/
Hey, Vision. AWESOME deck! I've been a huge fan of ZooLock since I first saw one of my buddies playing it, so I was excited to come across a popular one in the latest patch. I played some matches with it to get a feel for it, then decided to cover it in a video! I break down the basic strategies behind the deck, discuss my thoughts on it, and then go on to do a few matches with it.
I replaced Leeroy Jenkins with Doomguard because I didn't want to spend the dust crafting it. I did, however, craft Prince Keleseth and two Spiteful Summoners just for this deck!
I considered putting in a Giant such as Sea Giant per recommendation of other people's comments, but decided to just stick with the Saronite Chain Gang instead.
You can find my video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwsXHhDt84Q&index=2&t=0s&list=PLVMQqFJABF9YRW_P2xlIB-9G5FZM-gljM
If you were serious about adding videos to the guide, I'd be honored to be a part of it. If not, no worries!
Thanks for the fun deck, and keep up the great work
Thanks for making this deck! I used to play a lot of Zoolock, but haven't played much in the last 3 years, so I had no idea which cards to select from the last 3-4 expansions, and this really helped me out.
I did however make one minor adjustment:
-1 Saronite Chain Gang for +1 Sea Giant
I did that because every Zoo deck needs at least one Giant minion, in my opinion, and I don't find the taunt minions as necessary when you can attempt an earlier lethal instead.
Truly a very very VERY poor deck, 2-8, 1 win came from a DC, dont waste your time on this version
Then you're not playing this deck right XD
I've been playing this deck a little. It's pretty fun to play. I only made one replacement to see how it work: I replace one of the Saronite Chain Gang for Prince Valanar as someone already suggest it in a previous comment, and the other Saronite I replaced with a Sea Giant .
I'm not entirely sure about Prince Valanar yet, I probably will change him back to a Saronite Chain Gang because of the wall value. But the Sea Giant prove to be really good. I had a game where on my turn 4 a played a Voodoo Doctor and both my Happy Ghoul already having my Prince Keleseth , a Voidwalker and a Kobold Librarian on board, what allow me to play my Sea Giant for free. My enemy instantly surrender when he saw my board on turn 4 like that.
And I also replace the 1 Fire Fly with Bloodreaver Gul'dan , imo the firefly isn't that good compare to the other 1 drop cards warlock have, and the hero card give huge value if you made it to the late game not being allow to maintain a great board.
So I highly recommend looking a spot for at least one Sea Giant or maybe even 2 of them in the deck.
Thanks for trying the deck out!
I may try tinkering with a few of peoples suggestions including yours. I have been thinking of Gul'dan as a finisher recently, and the deck does need some big early game pressure, so I will definitely try out both of your suggestions.
Thanks for these suggestions!
Very similar to my list that I built before the expansion dropped. https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1210277-spiteful-zoo
It's a really fun archetype as most people don't expect spiteful.
What about Gul'dan? For the late game, seems like a killer with a refill and hero power.
Regis has also made a showcase of this deck, you might want to add the video.
He built his own Spiteful deck, it's different then mine, so it technically isn't my deck he's showcasing, I just had the idea first.
I just want to take a second and say thank you to everyone who upvoted this deck and got it to the top of the front page. It's probably the best Christmas present I could have asked for :)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
Having a good time with this one, it's nice to have a warlock deck thats actually fun to play lol
Thanks for posting!
I repleced Leeroy Jenkins to Bloodreaver Gul'dan.
My first game with this deck I had a decent board, played Spiteful Summoner, got Demonbolt, which summoned Grand Archivist (you can see where this is going), who casted Twisting Nether and wiped out the board. All i could do was shrug 😅.
Loool
Dare you suggest that the matchup is anything other than a simple random pairing of players with the same rank+stars? Next, you will claim that some sort of 'drawbot' operates as if your deck is a 30 card hand and migrates cards to the top to satisfy some nefarious 'business' engine to the benefit of one of the players (as described in the Activision patent). Tinfoil detected.
On topic. I really enjoy playing this deck, the late game push from Spiteful seems to counter the opponent's earlier assumption that if they can trade, even inefficiently, they can endure.
