I originally created this deck as anti-Hunter only, but it can hold it's own versus control decks too because of KT, Sylvanas, and the late game dude tokens. I'd say this deck is as strong against agro decks as the standard control Paly is against control decks, so if you face mostly agro use this, if you get to a point you face control often go back to Standard Control Paly as this is really for Control Paly mains who want to better compete in Aggro infested ranks.
Finisher usually involves running opponent out of options, KT seals the deal late. I have experimented with various options of Zombie Chows/Blessing of Wisdoms and can't decide which one is better or if 1 of each is optimal.
Recent Edit:
Mulligans (listed in order of priority)
1. Zombie
2. Ghoul
3. Deathlord
4. Pyro
5. Holy Light/Farseer
Keep in mind these are for Hunter/Zoo/Undertaker type decks. Versus control Deathlord is only there for late game body and can't be played without clear counters in hand in case of bad RNG
You should name this deck Paul Bearer or Pal Bearer because it puts Huntertaker in an urn!
Got inspired with this deck bro. Gonna keep up with an extensive guide starting today.
Thanks!
Exactly my thoughts when creating, but in reality Deathlord can be used if you have your board clear in hand (equality/consecration) and I had Deathlord bring out Warrior legendaries just to get wiped out. The fact that Deathlord simply brings cards into play and doesn't activate their battle cry is overlooked value. But don't get me wrong, Deathlord can't be played vs control if you don't have counters in hand, but if it gets into fatigue it can be played as last card. If vs control deck dude pass is better than Deathlord early. In reality vs control this isn't great it's serviceable though, the deck is geared towards agro and most people from 20 to 5 will face 80% aggro. Then, when you get to point you are facing over 50% control go back to control Paly.
You could I haven't tried it. I'd lean towards 2 Sunwalkers. As for acolytes, deck doesn't really need 3 drop it needs 1 drops so I'd shy away from that if it means you have nothing on turn 1.
Probably all the AoE, taunts and healing that make it so good against Hunter. I forgot how well Paladin can demolish Hunters...
