Let it be known that this deck was created on the 5/12/2018 by Majora.
I'm still tweaking it as I go along, but so far it's doing really well.
A guide will be added if the deck continues to succeed.
Edit: I swapped out a Crowd Roaster with a Nightmare Amalgam for that extra early game help.
Also exchanged Mass Dispel for a Psychic Scream.
Any good replacements for The Lich King?
Any good +7 minion u have
Oops, I missed this comment, sorry mate.
Perhaps a good replacement would be one of the following:
Amani War Bear, Sleepy Dragon, Free From Amber, Shadowreaper Anduin, maybe even another Primordial Drake.
Kinda reminds me of an old-school priest control deck list before K&C.
How does it do against aggro; I tend to get way too many shaman, warlock and paladins that think the game should be over by turn 5-10, not to mention the hunters spamming wolves and such. I think the aggro swarm decks after Raza nerf had me leave this style of priest.
Yeah, I'll admit it's not great against aggro. It just doesn't have enough early game to hold out. I'm still trying to tweak it to handle everything.
Throwing a Seance in is a very good idea. It'll help anytime you need that Dragon in your hand for effect aswell.
I personally think Mass Hysteria is a terrible card. I prefer Psychic Scream for a full clear. But if you want help with stopping those aggro decks, by all means add the Hysteria.
Chameleos sits in your hand too long. It's more of just a fun card.
I would say, its more a spy card.
Psychic Scream is actually something that will be added in my next edit. I was worried that I'd be shuffling too many of my own minions too often. Turns out that's not the case.
Is Bwonsamdi, the Dead worth crafting? Seems like this deck wouldn't suffer too much without him.
I personally think he is. Not only for this deck, but for any (paired with the Spirit obviously). They're just overall a great little package that fit in almost any deck.
I haven't really tried the deck without them, just because they've been working so well. But give it a try and let me know how it goes!
out of curiosity have you thought about dropping the small spells and going with a Spiteful package?
Drop: Divine Hymn, Shadow Word: Pain, Shadow Word: Death, Mass Dispel, Cabal Shadow Priest,
Add: Spiteful Summonerx2, Mind Control, Free From Amberx2
Not saying its better but you have a pretty good base line to add that package in. You could also drop the glimmerroot for a second Twilight Acolyte (person preference with dragons going against giants).
I tried the Spiteful package, but it wasn't as effective as this. The cards you want to remove all have excellent specific jobs.
Divine Hymn not only helps you stay alive that little bit longer if you're falling behind. It also adds that extra draw alongside Northshire Cleric and Dragonmaw Scorcher.
Shadow Word: Pain clears out painful cards like Voidlord and any other unnecessary irritations you need gone. It also combo's with Cabal Shadow Priest.
Shadow Word: Death deals with those Giants.
Mass Dispel helps to finish the game by clearing a path for a big hit to the face. And some extra draw. But if you absolutely need something else to be in the deck, this is probably the most ideal card to drop.
Cabal Shadow Priest pairs well with Twilight Acolyte. And speaking of Acolyte, I used to run two in my Spiteful Priest back in the day, but single big minions just aren't as prevalent as they used to be, so one is enough at the moment.
What rank are you at? Also, do you think Alex or Anduin would fit anywhere in here?
I'm rank 5 - 4 at the moment.
Alex doesn't really fit in the deck because by the time turn 9/10 hits you've usually got them down to way under 15 health anyway.
I've been considering trying Anduin, but I'm not really fond of having him in a deck where so many of my minions are 5 attack or higher. It just ends up being a dead card most of the time. But you're more than welcome to try it out.
I built this deck and decided to try what dbnumberiv suggested, granted i started at rank 25. I've won 10 straight matches so far about to hit 20. Going to see how far I can push till I loose. This combo really shines late game. The closest I ever came to losing was me down to 6hp, mage at 30, and reversing on turn 7 with summoner, turn 8 with Lich King, turn 9 with sentinel, and ending the game with me at 22 and mage dead. drawing two mind controls at the beginning of the game is horrendous and painful, but if you can survive to turn 7, your pretty much guaranteed to be able to use them to swing the board in your favor.
i agree. only reason i suggested the removal of them was for the spiteful package.
