Mulligan:
always keep: Helpless Hatchling, Dire Mole or Springpaw -> Crackling Razormaw, Dire Wolf Alpha or Scavenging Hyena -> Bearshark or Animal Companion
vs aggro: Headhunter's Hatchet, Revenge of the Wild (when you already have minions to play - it helps in board control (trades) and allows you to resurrect board)
vs control: Master's Call (you can also keep it when you have good mana curve because it helps to find more steam), Deathstalker Rexxar
!cards that are mentioned first are better to keep!
!just try to play on mana curve!
Card Replacements:
Deathstalker Rexxar -> Sated Threshadon or Volcanosaur (both thing are not close in terms of power level but it's still a huge threat)
Bittertide Hydra -> Tundra Rhino (great cards because it allows you to deal more points of face dmg with other beasts and it synergies with Revenge of the Wild - me go face? yes)
Cards that might be included:
Jeweled Macaw - great 1-drop and it's another way to get a beast
Tracking - sometimes you really need specific card. For example Kill Command to finish off the opponent or Deathstalker Rexxar against control deck.
Hunter's Mark - might help against big taunt minions. That's the only option because we cant include Spellbreaker (it's not a beast)
Unleash the Hounds - synergies with scavenig hyena and helps against decks that creates wide board
Vicious Fledgling - decent stats, hit your opponents face once (pray to RNGesus to get windfury) -> profit
Stranglethorn Tiger - it will survive almost every board clear. It's means that you have guaranteed 5 points of face dmg (taunt is cheat)
Why this deck is so powerful?
It's a consistent deck with super powerful mana curve. If you don't know what to do just go face ... but seriously there are a lot of great synergies that make this deck great. Not only early game is the strongest thing about this deck, but we also have a lot of threats for a mid game (Savannah Highmane, Bittertide Hydra - can be discounted with Helpless Hatchling) we also shouldn't run out of steam thanks to Master's Call or Deathstalker Rexxar (it helps a lot against control match-ups). When you will be forced to trade you can resurrect your minions with Revenge of the Wild (it's even better with rush or charge minions because you can attack once again)
Spirit is not a beast, I might be bad with Master's Call. You could add the Loa though. 1/1 rush beasts are great with Hyena.
OMG this Deck is awesome :) i tried to make a beast only deck yesterday evening but this is sooooo much better :)
Thank you for sharing
edit: why not the Timber Wolf instead of the Dire Wolf Alpha?
i get the higher stats but isnt it better to buff all your beasts attack instead of just 2?
1-health minions are usually so easy to remove.
If you are facing mage, druid, or rogue, they can remove this the turn after you play it. And, in general, 2 health is much more solid that 1
Usually Timber Wolf does the same thing as Dire Wolf Alpha and he is just that bit squishier and less flexible. The odds of having that full of a board are pretty small, and if you're sacking adjacent minions Dire Wolf and Timber Wolf do largely the same thing.
Going pretty well with this deck. 3-0, beating pirate rogue, healadin, and some weird rogue deck.
The cheapness of the deck is nice too.
Lost about 10 games in a row, including treant druid, odd paladin, kingsbane rogue, discard warlock. I thought I know how to play a midrange hunter deck, but apparently that is not case.
This is an absolute madlad of a deck, I definitely recommend it! I believe this might be the midrange deck for a while and I really like what master's call brings to the class. I made a video showcasing the deck in action, I really hope you all enjoy!
Watch this poor paladin get crushed!
lmaooo all three lost are to hunter decks... so what deck where they
Replacement for Bittertide Hydra ?
Well you have no other 5 drops so I think a decent realcemet would be Tundra Rhino or Stranglethorn Tiger. Houndmaster is very strong in this deck too. But ST and TN serve as a rough replacements not only bc of the cost but they are very offensive and almost gurnatee damage on the opponenet, like the Hydra does. They are also beasts. The subflavor of each is different though but both are strong tempo plays. Well, Tundra less so at 5, but much more so later in the game.
Forget to mention, if you are reviving your beasts, tundra EVEN more strong because now surprise, you clear the board and still get all your damage. Im kinda suprised that it wasnt even put in this deck as a one of, it works (at least on paper) very well
Kind of a tough replacement because the point of Bittertide is that he's a super-threatening phat boi that usually sticks due to above-curve stats. Every deck needs a top end/finisher, Bittertide curving into Highmane is that top end.
