Freeze Shaman is here. This is not a drill: freeze shaman is here.
I'm excited to present Kiwiinbacon's showcase of my deck! Check out his other sweet deck showcases on his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/CanadianRumPunch
Edit 3: I JUST PLAYED THE MIRROR MATCH ON LADDER! This is surreal - I queued the deck up and found myself as King Rastakhan vs. King Rastakhan. When he played plated beetle I thought 'surely not'... then he played Ice Cream Peddler and Hyldnir Frostrider.
Trielix beat me at my own deck but it was a blast!
I spectated his next game where he gained 124 armour and dealt 58 damage in one turn to a kingsbane rogue. Thanks for showing the deck off so well!

Write-up
NOTE: this is my write up from the initial version of the deck. It has gone through substantial changes since then, but I'll leave it here in case I feel like updating it to reflect the newest version at some point.
This deck revolves around Shudderwock utilising Ice Cream Peddler's battlecry to gain effectively infinite armour in the very late game, while shuffling an endless supply of Corrupted Blood in to the opponent's deck via Hakkar, the Soulflayer + Da Undatakah. Here's how the deck works in detail:
- The deck mostly functions like a normal Shudderwock deck with a game plan of controlling the board and getting your battlecry effects off. Most Shudderwock lists have a little more card draw than this deck, so Mana Tide Totem is essential to find ASAP.
- The deck runs DOUBLE Cryostasis, so that your Ice Cream Peddler can get value pre-Shudderwock. It was quite a struggle finding ways of making this card playable, and I initially had one Wax Elemental to up the consistency of having an excellent target for Cryostasis, but had to cut it. Cryostasis is much more effective when played on a taunt, and so Belligerent Gnome is a great target for it and naturally suits Shudderwock Shaman's control game plan. There is also the possibility in the late game for Zentimo + Rain of Toads + Cryostasis to provide you with massive stall potential. Even playing this same combo but with Saronite Chain Gang allows you a large amount of stall. Mana Tide Totem is naturally 0-attack and as a high-value card has soft taunt, and so it also makes a great Cryostasis target as it would never have been able to attack the following turn anyway.
- Hyldnir Frostrider is essential to the Shudderwock battlecry, because this allows Shudderwock to freeze the copies of itself (hopefully) before either of the Ice Cream Peddler battlecries go off, and thereby gain at least 8 armour per Shudderwock played. Of course this gives you no board pressure on your next turn, but if you play enough Shudderwocks in a turn then Glacial Shard should ensure that your opponent has no board pressure either.
- The deck has three specific Deathrattle minions only: Plated Beetle, Rotten Applebaum, and Hakkar, the Soulflayer. This is so that Da Undatakah (and then Shudderwock) guarantees gaining these three deathrattles exactly. This is so that later, whenever your Shudderwocks die, you will gain armour and restore health (the point of which is to enable you to survive turns in which you draw multiple Corrupted Bloods), and also shuffle more Corrupted Bloods into each deck. Note that you can play Undatakah whenever you like (e.g. before any deathrattles have gone off), because as long as the deathrattle minions have died when you play Shudderwock, the effect will then work. Note also that whenever your Shudderwocks die because they are returned to your hand when it is full, their deathrattles will go off, so activating your deathrattles is a lot easier than it may at first appear.
The result of all of this is that if you manage to survive until the very late game (and this is quite a big if), you will eventually be in a position where each turn you can play a full board of shudderwocks, gain a million armour, heal to full, and make your opponent kill themselves by drawing Corrupted Blood.
And you do all of this with FREEZE SHAMAN ... (sort of).
I'm really excited to see if there's any way this deck can work. Please suggest any refinements you think I could make as I'm sure the deck needs it.
Thanks!
Is there any Seaforium Bomber replacment?
This sounds silly I know but Nightblade might actually do the job quite nicely. But then if you're considering that then you should definitely just use the main win condition of standard shuddewock shaman, Lifedrinker, which is just a much, much better Nightblade.
All fair points. I assume you're taking inspiration from the wild Armor Shaman deck that made the rounds a few months ago, where your Shudderwock would N'Zoth a bunch of beetles and kill them by bouncing them into a full hand with Grumble. That deck made it work pretty well; unfortunately, without N'oth, this deck doesn't quite pull it off. I'd honestly be interested in trying this out in Wild to get the Hakkar's more frequently. As it stands, I think the Seaforium Bomber and Ice Cream combo is enough of a win condition, and more space should be dedicated to early game survival. But that's just me. This deck is meant to be fun (otherwise you'd just play normal Shudderwock Shaman), so whatever is the most fun is the correct choice.

at which rank, please?
I tried it, at rank 5, and my winrate is about 10%...
I really like your list! Very cool, lots of interesting choices. Is Mukla there so that you will always mill them in the late game? I like that idea but I think Bootie Bay Bookie might be slightly better for this plan (not sure).
I love the inclusion of Earth Shock with Zentimo and I wanted to do the same in my list but didn't really feel I had the space for it. I think Mossy Horror is also a great tech choice, and Ooze also, considering how many hunters are on the ladder at the moment.
Is Haunting Visions worth it? I do really like the card and I honestly haven't worked out how good it is yet (I think it is probably pretty good), but can this deck afford to run a card which doesn't do a specific thing to contribute towards the game plan? I also love Unstable Evolution as a surprise tempo enabler (especially because every few games you'll be able to Zentimo + Unstable your chain gangs). In fact that's another thing I wanted in my list while Zentimo was still in my list, but again I decided there wasn't room for it.
I sort of want to make an alternate version of my deck now which focuses on Zentimo + Unstable + Earth Shock (and even + Tidal Surge maybe - 7 mana mini-flamestrike + 12 face healing is pretty great) as well as the ice cream combo.
Thanks for sharing!
Replacement for Corpsetaker and Al'Akir the Windlord? really enjoy the deck. :3
Also, if I don;t run these cards is Zilliax still good in the deck? (i have him)
And if I craft only 2x Corpsetaker and have Zilliax is it ok?
Answer all the questions please. i crafted Corpsetaker and put Tar creeper
You've crafted 2x Corpsetaker now? Zilliax is a pretty great card as a standalone tool, so yeah I would say you could keep him regardless. If you weren't running Corpsetakers, it's arguable that another control/stall/draw tool (say 1x Rain of Toads) might be more important than Zilliax though. But with Corpsetakers he is essential.
There are a few taunts in the deck, so Corpsetaker will pretty consistently get taunt. A 3 mana 4/4 taunt is not that impressive though, so perhaps you could add something else with a different corpsetaker effect. In my opinion divine shield is the most important effect to get after taunt, and then lifesteal is probably next important, and lastly windfury. Having said that, I've won games purely off the back of dropping two windfury corpsetakers on turns 4 and 5 (or 3 and 4 with coin), because that level of pressure is extreme and unless your opponent finds an immediate answer they're in a lot of trouble.
Having said that, these are some ideas:
Thank you for your comment by the way! Hope this helps :)
I just went 9-0 with the latest version of the deck! Lost my 10th game to a boomsday netdeck odd paladin who got a god curve and rng.
If you gave up on the deck or haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend you give it a look now!
If your hand is very full then that can happen. Also the more minions you have on board, the harder it is to get shudder back in hand. Ideally you will play shudder with at least 2 free spaces in hand and with no other minions on board. You can play proactively to set this up for yourself by not making totems near to when you're going to play shudder (or grumble, actually - grumble returning totems to your hand only clogs your hand for no reason), and by making bad trades on board to ensure as much of your own board as possible dies when you play shudder.
It was indirect damage - he shuffled Corrupted Bloods into the opponent's deck with Hakkar, the Soulflayer, which eventually stacked up so much that on one turn the opponent drew into a long chain of them which took him from 30 to -28 health.
2x Seaforium Bomber, if summoning full boards of taunt/divine shield/windfury shudderwocks every turn wasn't enough of a win condition.
Stacking armor actually, and it works cause 999 armo cant be removed.
The opponent will fatigue easily
2:11 Lost - NOT Funny! (ok, 3h later 13:12) <--- now it´s funny
I made my own version of ice cream shaman without most of the technical fluff that you can find here: https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1215274-fatigue-armor-plated-ice-cream-shaman which uses a more simple idea as a win condition. thoughts or suggestions? i've been playtesting with it a lot lately
Cool that you've taken inspiration! :)
I like your list, it is more streamlined than mine. One mild concern I would have is that you are much weaker against exodia win conditions i.e. Mecha'thun, paladin death knight, or exodia quest mage (the latter two of which I have actually been running into a fair bit on ladder), because if your shudders aren't actually damaging them then they essentially have all the time they could want to set up their exodia condition.
I love the Zentimo + Tidal Surge choice - I have been thinking about adding that to my list because Zentimo is crazy strong with Hex too, but I ultimately didn't think it was worth it. Cool to see in yours though.
I notice you've got 2x Plated Beetle but no Undatakah? Did you forget to add Undatakah? :p
I like the deck overall, I've gone 6 and 3 so far. Two issues I've noted:
1. There are too many bounce effects. Often, my hand fills up with full-cost Shudderwocks before I can get the one-cost ones into my hand. I also find that, too often, the Shudderwocks get bounced so often than I don't get a chance to land the freeze -> ice cream combo. I'd consider cutting Zola or Bog Slosher, or both.
2. Da Undatakah rarely gets any value. Now that Hakkar is cut, Undatakah's deathrattle is pretty low-impact, and he's a really slow play in a deck that struggles to keep pace. Likewise, the Shudderwocks that spawn don't get value either. And if he's cut, Leper Gnome can be cut too.
