Mulligan:
always keep: Flame Imp, Kobold Librarian, Fire Fly
vs aggro: Voidwalker
vs control: Doubling Imp or Saronite Chain Gang (specially when it's most left card) + Soul Infusion
when you 1-drop: Vulgar Homunculus, Waterboy
when you have coin: Dire Wolf Alpha (it's a good turn 2 play when you played two 1-drops on turn one)
Full Deck:
AAECAf0GBq8E0eECj4ID8oYDwYoDr44DDDDZB8II68ICm8sC8dAC8tAC9PcC0/gC3IYD6YYDxIkDAA==
Upgrades:
Fungalmancer -> Leeroy Jenkins (really good finisher, you can also play this with + Soulfire for 10 points of SMORC dmg)
Mecharoo -> The Soularium (there are a lot of cheap minions in this deck and soularium allows you to play even more of them without loosing health points)
Mecharoo -> Hir'eek, the Bat (interesting late game win condition, if you will get at least one buff on it it's already good ... imagine that you can get few more)
Cards that might be included:
Knife Juggler. Acidic Swamp Ooze, Microtech Controller, Grim Necromancer, Sea Giant, Doomguard, Despicable Dreadlord
Why would you play new 'trashy' cards?
Grim Rally - usually you will sacrifice 1/1 or 1/2 minion to buff other stuff. Interesting thing about it is that it might be considered as a charge dmg as long as you have minions on board that can attack. This means a lot of value and small sacrifice specially because Zoo runs a lot of little creatures (tokens)
Spirit of the Bat - terrible card in terms of tempo but when you will play this later when you have to trade into taunt minion or just trade to gain board control you will also buff sth in your hand (just keep doubling imp or saronite chaing gang and make sure to have small amount of minion to increase the odds of targeting one of those cards). It also works with buffs because it will make it harder to kill and maybe you can get more 'buffs'
Scarab Egg - do you remember Nerubian Egg? that card was great in zoo. This is slightly worse version of it but still you gain a lot of value out from it and it synergies with Dire Wolf Alpha or Spirit of the Bat
Freedom isn't free, dude.
This deck... has some serious flaws over other budget zoolock decks. I get that you don't run keleseth because it is a budget deck, but trying to overcompensate with scarab egg and waterboy is not going to work out. Those two cards (and specifically waterboy) are very weak, with waterboy being a worse kobold librarian. Don't you think running the heal package is stronger and more cost efficient?
I Agree. The heal package is already cheap and strong, add cards like Doomguard and Despicable Dreadlord and you don't need bad cards like Waterboy to be good on Ladder.
Are you seriously asking him to swap out 11-12 cards? You realize the heal package alone is 7-8 cards right?
Additionally I think Scarab Egg is much stronger than you give it credit for, it's by FAR the best card to go along with Grim Rally!
The first card on the chopping block is clearly Spirit of the Bat, as it's just a bad card (even though I think this deck is a great fit for it!) Just think about it, if you manage get 2 minions to die off, you can't decide the minion that get's the buff so it's weaker than Soul Infusion, and costs 1 more mana for a 0/3 stealth. If you are forced to play this card before turn 6, you pretty much give up the board for a handbuff effect, it's a terrible topdeck etc... (Even though it clearly has great synergy with all the buff cards in the deck, you just don't want to play negative tempo cards in zoo)
I also don't think Soul Infusion goes very well with the deck, at least compared to regular Zoo as we are playing 6 cards that have negative synergy with the card, Dire Wolf Alpha, Grim Rally and Demonbolt. we also cut synergy cards like Doomguard and Leeroy Jenkins.
Point is I agree with the first commenter a heal package would help us get ahead on board and let us make good use of our win more cards, (Dire Wolf Alpha, Grim Rally and Demonbolt.) As previously mentioned.
No, I said the current F2P version of Zoo is already strong as it is. Why make a deck that's basically a worse version? I get it that new cards are fun, but that doesn't make this deck good.
Wtf is the point of playing the same old Zoo list after a new expansion is out? He's clearly trying to test out some new cards, at least give something constructive if you want to criticize others!
Isn't Firefly rotating out?
Yes. When the next expansion next year gets released it will rotate out.
