Since I'm a filthy casual now, I decided to have fun and climbed all the way to rank 3 with Exodia Mage 😁
I had a lot of extra time to do normal things like exercise and sleep this week, it was unsettling

Even a casual player like me can get legend with this EZ exodia mage! Recorded a 71% winrate on the climb.
It's fun, exept in a wrong meta.
I have swapped out 2x Frostbolt for 2x Primordial Glyph, because of its versastility.
I have also found second copy of Molten Reflection clunky and subbed Shooting Star in for early board control. Also, it combos with Bloodmage Thalnos and Stargazer Luna well.
a fun deck
Fun OTK :) !
Let me get this straight.
The finishing combo is Frost Nova + Archmage Antonidas then next turn play Sorcerer's Apprentice + Molten Reflection / Simulacrum and infinite fireballs?
My problem is in between those turns, Archmage Antonidas is exposed to any spell the other player might have (which is a lot considering Research Project).
I try to bait with Doomsayer + Frost Nova / Blizzard, which sometimes helps, but not as much as I would like.
Any tips? Or am I already playing this at full potential.
No, you're doing it wrong......
How to play?
Step 1: 2x Simulacrum your single Sorceror's Apprentice.
Step 2: Leyline Manipulator once you have both extra copies of Sorceror's Apprentice.
Step 3: Play combo: Antonidas - SA - SA - SA - Molten Reflection - Profit!
You're the bomb. Thanks.
You don't need two is his point (because you have Simulacrum x2).
I'm guessing that because the deck is so draw heavy, having additional combo pieces let's you win consistently faster. Also, in a pinch you can use your extra combo pieces (one Sorc Apprentice, one Reflection) to help you hold off aggro (most people don't play freeze mage correctly).
No ice barriers? This will loose to aggro so easily. It could be good against control though..
I'm trying this deck but I have yet to win, I am either drawing terribly or just bad at the game.
You clone the sorcerer's apprentices, and when you have 4, you spam free fireballs infinitely with antonidas
I meant to reply to your message, but I wrote above:

This deck seems to be all about spamming draw to cycle your deck, hence why he lost the barriers and such.
Are you crushing the Shudder bas*ards?
I can verify, this deck is!
