Hey!
Just went from rank 3 to legend with this druid deck within the first week of the season on and continued to climb with it to top 250 legend on EU.
This deck is basicly good against most decks on ladder, because of the ability to build a big buffed board of minions to push a lot of damage as well as having Malygos burst as a late finish if needed.
Gameplay at Youtube - Bringing the deck to rank 75 legend (In this video I have added Twig for one chain gang)
General Strategy
In general its all about to push minion damage to face before malygos comes down in late game to finish them off, unless your minions haven't already done the job (which they normally do).
A common mistake is getting to greedy with the combo cards. Often the correct play is too play the combo cards out for tempo. After all, this deck is in many ways a tempo deck.
Against Control
Against Baku warrior its all about pushing minion damage to face. Play the taunts and buff them with "Strongshell". If you manage that, you should be able to kill them with malygos combo when it hits. At this moment I am 6-1 against Baku Warrior in Legend, which is very high considering that this deck is in fact a malygos deck.
Against aggro
Well, the strategy against aggro is the same as always. Just don't die. Try to ramp in to plauge + tyrant, so you can play Strongshell the following turn. But this goes for most Druid decks.
Fleksible spots
I rally think its possible to add twig for one of the chain gangs, in particular if you want your Malygos combo to hit more consistent.
This deck might have some more fleksible cards, but I am struggling with finding other cards that can be replaced.
Some mulligan tips
Chain gang is always a keep with wild growth, no matter if you face aggro or not.
With cone, I think chain gang also is a keep since you can coin chain gang into Strongshell follow up and then push a lot of damage.
And as always, wild growth is always a keep.
In summary: Look for wild growt, chain gang and strongshell and of course spellstone if facing aggro.
Also "KiwiinBacon" has made a gameplay with the deck, in where he explains the deck over multiple matches. I recommend you to subscribe to his awesome channel. Here is the link to his video:
I‘m playing on and off since 2014 (4500 wins) and this deck is easily in my Top5 decks I‘ve played. It’s fun, diverse and strong. That‘s everything you could want from a deck.
Sadly, i do not have Branching Paths, Arcane Tyrant and Flobbidinous Floop.
What could you recommend as substitude, or what would i have to craft?
If you can craft something, Floop would be recommended as the best craft of those three. But if you are missing all those three cards, this deck will be hurt a lot.
For branching paths you can add one savage roar or maybe one more power of the wild. For arcane tyrant I would add tar creeper as substitute since it synergies with the Strongshell.
But first and foremost, Floop is the most important card to make this deck work consistently.
dont craft floop...
Def go for branching Paths IT IS MUST craft for druid. you can drop a floop for something that copies or buffs even silence is fine
Floop isn't needed if you have a dreampetal florist. Craft branching paths if you want to play any druid decks and arcane tyrant if you like druid & control mage.
This deck is insane. I have a lot of experience with both Token and Maly, and this seems super powerful. SO many different ways to kill your opponent, which makes this deck super good against tons of matchups. I went 5-0 to rank 3, beating an odd warrior, spiteful druid, quest rogue, evenlock, and a maly druid.
Glad you liked it! And yeah, it is good against tons of match ups if you are able to know or find out on the way which win condition to go for in the different match ups :)
It is surprisingly good but still I feel both pure token and pure malygos are slightly better.
Maybe, but this deck is first and foremost buildt to get some reliable diversity in the Druid deck selection.
Floop is the best card in the deck, so I would say that he is close to not changeable. But maybe a tar creeper can be added instead to have another strongshell target, but that would hurt the deck a lot. If you have Twig (the weapon) I would recommend that instead of tar creeper as a replacement for Floop.
get rid of arcane and put in whispering... then you have full token with mali finisher
Post Malone - Go Fleks
I have everything needed for this deck except Malfurion. Really frustrating too because I'm guessing there's no real replacement for him?
Malfurion is a druid staple in almost all druid decks and is easily one of the best death knights!
Im having trouble understanding how do odd warriors lose to this. Their main focus is about removal and armour gain. How are they not removing ur minions?
I think it is partly bacause of the look of the board before you play strongshell. It might not look very dangerous, but when you smack down strongshell on 2-3 taunts you kan start pushing a lot of damage. Another reason is that they might treat you like an token Druid and for that reason wants to be restrective with the removal.
replaced one arcane tyrant with Cenarius... mega combo :D
Best deck I've played in months hands down. 5-1 so far at rank 10.
This deck genuinly feels good to play and actually has a very good time against the current meta! I always loved maly decks but this one doesn't feel forced and the combo is quite easy to pull off without too much preparation! I definitely recommend this deck to anyone that got the big blue dragon cause it's a ton of fun :D
I made a video showcasing the deck in all of its glory (and a winstreak) I hope you all enjoy!
I'm finding the ultimate infestations utterly useless.....Either holding too many cards in my hand that i need to save for the combo or comes in my hand too far in the game where i'd end up burning cards on top of my health.
