Hi y'all!

We're back again for another edition of the Budget Deck Series, this time around it's Druid! Be sure to check out the rest of the series on Youtube!

(Games start at 10:11)

Druid has never been stronger or more expensive! Today, we'll try to come up with a cheap list that can help you get some wins on ladder. As always, lets take a look at the criteria for the budget deck series;

Criteria:

  • No set dust limit.
We don't want to set an arbitrary number to go by, but still be conscious of how much we are spending and provide downgrade/sidegrade options when available. We also want to generally steer clear of Epics and Legendaries.

  • Focus on the CORE of a deck.
Let's define the absolute necessities of the deck. Identify what the strongest cards are and build around that.

  • Have a reasonable upgrade path.
Using budget versions of existing archetypes provides players with the ability to spend more dust to have a 'complete' deck. This way, if someone enjoys the deck or has more resources, they get more bang for their buck!

  • Prioritize cards that aren't rotating.
A new season is almost upon us and it's a smart idea to avoid crafting those year of the kraken cards. We want our dust to go long AND strong!

With that in mind, let's take a look at the core of Token Druid;

The Core:

2 Argent Squire
2 Dire Mole
2 Fire Fly
2 Dire Wolf Alpha
2 Power of the Wild
2 Crypt Lord
2 Landscaping
2 Savage Roar
2 Soul of the Forest
2 Giggling Inventor
2 Fungalmancer

The basic gameplan for these style of decks is to go wide with minions and take advantage of that with cards like Savage Roar and Soul of the Forest. Be sure to check out the accompanying video for a more in-depth look at card choices!

Filling the gaps:

2 Acherus Veteran
1 Lost Spirit
2 Vicious Fledgling
2 Saronite Chain Gang

Acherus Veteran can be swapped for your preferred 1-drop. Fledgling and Chain Gang are a fantastic threat and bodies respectively, but Explodinator and Cobalt Scalebane are viable budget options.

The flex:

Acidic Swamp Ooze

Struggling against a certain match-up? Use these slots for tech cards like silences, weapon removal, etc.

Upgrades:

Unfortunately, there isn't a direct upgrade path for this style of deck. Be sure to check out the video to see a few of the strong druid decks you can strive for.

Feedback:

Think this deck is too far out of your budget? Got some card suggestions? Had some good/ terrible luck with the list? Let me know! This project will be ongoing and I'm always looking for ways to improve.

I'm also looking for suggestions on the next deck for the series! You can hit me up here on Hearthpwn,Twitch or Twitter.
