Intro

Hi guys! If you've gotten a few off-meta/useless warlock cards in the last few expansions, like I did, you might want to try this fun deck to compensate for all the bad feels. This is pretty much a Timmy deck: https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/timmy-johnny-and-spike-2013-12-03

Gameplay

This deck revolves around discarding (big) value minions and spells to complete Lakkari Sacrifice and then resummoning them with N'Zoth, the Corruptor (which coincidentally is one of the worst end game cards to discard :P) or the MVP:

Dark Pact can be used to force a deathrattle from Cruel Dinomancer or simply to prevent silence and to compensate for your early game HP-draws.

Prince Taldaram can be combined with any deathrattle or a nicely buffed minion your opponent spawned like Lynessa Sunsorrow or a Spikeridged Steed/Bonemare'd taunt in mid-to-late game. Even a 3/3 Stonetusk Boar or Mistress of Mixtures can save the day.

After completing the quest, the goal is to close the game by either applying pressure with your warlock cards or change class with Renounce Darkness if your hand sucks.

Mulligan

Against aggro mulligan for early drop minions, healing and removal like DefileMistress of Mixtures and Renounce Darkness. Save your quest for Counterspell test against mages before you use Defile or Hellfire, depending which one you have. Renounce Darkness specifically might be the only way to survive the onslaught though :) Try to maximise your health gain and AoE value. Drop Blood-Queen Lana'thel as a 1/5. It'll act like a taunt and if you're lucky even catch a fireball or that annoying secret that would hit your face for too much.

Against control just play Lakkari Sacrifice on turn 1. Try to get Cataclysm a.s.a.p. The reward will out-tempo most control decks if played early enough. When you're getting it later than turn 5-6, but you have Renounce Darkness, then you can play that instead and hope for tempo plays. There is still an option to play Deathwing lategame to complete the quest, since he's not a class card.

If you really want Rin, the First Disciple you can wait for that, but if you wait too long your full-hand discards become more costly and harder to manage because of the shitty curve. If you're getting your stuff in the wrong order anyway, then try to get rid of cheap minions and gather spells in your hand for discard. Always try to play Malchezaar's ImpCataclysm so you can use Renounce Darkness after playing the quest.

Substitutes

There are many was to fill up the value minions in this deck. N'Zoth, the Corruptor's value is actually not that great, but I don't own Bloodreaver Gul'dan, otherwise i'd throw in two Lakkari Felhounds or two Doomguards instead of Rin, the First Disciple and Blood-Queen Lana'thel. But then you might as well play cube lock. If you own then you can of course also consider two Voidlords.

Alternatively you can go the dragon route with YseraPrimordial Drake and Malygos to buff your spell damage. Though in that case I would try to fit in some more cheap direct damage cards like Soulfire or Drain Soul for finishing off your opponent or for clearing minions. You can even play a C'Thun deck, with the sole purpose to discard and revive a buffed C'thun. The principle stays the same.

If you don't have the bad luck of having gotten Prince Taldaram and hate the RNG of Renounce Darkness, you can just ditch them and Deathwing and replace the with two Doomsayers and two of either Stonehill Defender or Kabal Courier.

Malchezaar's Imp can't really be replaced. I've experienced that it's kind of crucial to get the refill after a full hand discard. Even if you do get your quest or Rin's deathrattle in hand. You can only do so much with just some 5-mana spells, your topdeck and here power. Also prevents you from drawing yourself to death.

Clutchmother Zavas (and other preferable discard cards like Silverware Golem) might seem logical in a discard deck, but in this case its a total waste since it pollutes your discard pool and never gets returned by Cruel Dinomancer with its buffs intact (unlike C'Thun for example).

If you really love self-damaging decks, you can also try to put in two BloodbloomDOOM! and another Siphon Soul instead of two Kobold Librarian and two Lesser Amethyst Spellstone. If not for draw, you can use Bloodbloom with Cataclysm if you're short on mana or want to combine it with Nether Portal.

Noteworthy Combos

Once you get to the end of mid game, you have quite some cool discard combos are your disposal (given that you have not discarded any other minions yet). Just make sure to count your hand before you discard and make sure it completes the quest (it's very annoying to get only part of the quest done and then end up with an empty hand):

Cruel Dinomancer + Dark Pact if you've discarded something juicy. Gives a nice heal and huge board presence with Deathwing or The Lich King as early as turn 7. (cost: 7 mana)

Cataclysm (with 6 extra cards in hand) + Nether Portal. Clears the board and gives you a portal all in one turn. (cost: 9 mana)

Cruel DinomancerShadowflame if he spawns a nice Cruel DinomancerThe Lich King or Mistress of Mixtures. (cost: 10 mana)

Rin, the First Disciple +Cataclysm (with 6 extra cards in hand, pref no low cost minions). Clears the board and gets you two 5-mana cost spells for the next turn. (cost: 10 mana)

Cruel Dinomancer + Cataclysm while you have Cruel Dinomancer + spells in hand, this will give you inifnite Cruel Dinomancers and clear the board. (cost: 10 mana)

Deathwing with deathrattles on board. Most notably Cruel Dinomancer while you have The Lich King or Blood-Queen Lana'thel in hand. Clears board and gives you big minions with a buffed Blood-Queen Lana'thel (see image) (cost: 10 mana)

If you've managed to stall till late game without completing your quest, you can play Deathwing on the turn after N'Zoth, the Corruptor. If you're lucky you'll have at least 1 Cruel Dinomancer on board and a big minion in hand.
