This is a completely free hunter deck for anyone who wants to climb ladder quickly without spending any dust/coins. It is a face hunter deck - In other words, it looks to quickly take down its opponent with powerful cheap minions and spells, usually preferring to hit "face" instead of attacking minions. While the deck doesn't teach too much about board control, it's good for newer players in the sense that there isn't much decision making.
STRATEGY-
Opening hand:
You want to try to get a 1-cost, 2-cost, and 3-cost card in your opening hand, as it will let you have cards to play efficiently on those turns. If you are going second, you can try to get Houndmaster in your opening hand as well.
1-cost mulligans: Stonetusk Boar, Arcane Shot, Tracking
2-cost mulligans: River Crocolisk, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Bloodfen Raptor
3-cost mulligans: Shattered Sun Cleric, Razorfen Hunter, Animal Companion
Early game:
You want to be very aggressive with this deck. Look to play minions and immediately hit face, weaving in hero powers when there are no better choices. Multi-Shot can bring incredible value if used correctly. Don't trade unless it is absolutely nessesary - for example to take out a Shadow Ascendant.
Mid game:
You should be looking to finish your opponent around this time. You can get incredibly fast damage with cards like Wolfrider and Kill Command. Tundra Rhino provides a stickier minion that can help other beasts impact the board.
Late game:
Hero power every turn to get damage off. You're likely emptying your hand every turn, so just look to get as much damage done to the opposing hero as possible each turn.
Upgrades:
If you're not completely f2p and you have some other cards, I'd suggest to try and fit in the following cards:
Explosive Trap- This card helps to control the board against swarmy decks, and as a bonus, does 2 damage to face!
Freezing Trap- This card can be ridiculously good against strong minions that your opponent sends your way.
Snake Trap- Creating 3 1/1 beasts (snakes) for 2 mana is pretty good. It makes it harder to clear your beasts without AOE, and has great synergy with Leokk, the hunter animal companion that gives +1 attack to your other minions.
Savannah Highmane- Insane value! A slightly under average stat line is made up for easily by its powerful deathrattle. It also works very well with beast synergies. Compare and contrast with Boulderfist Ogre, and you can see how powerful Savannah Highmane is.
Dwarven Sharpshooter- A strong body on turn one combined with a useful ability for grabbing control of the board is great for an aggressive deck. Just a solid card!
Toxic Reinforcements- Once quite possibly the most hated card around for its insane burst damage in the midgame when the quest tended to complete, this card has fallen out of favor due to its relative slowness and inability to impact the board.
Phase Stalker- River Crocolisk in base stats + a bonus ability that face hunter loves! You're going to be pressing the hero power button pretty often, and running Phase Stalker makes it even more worth it - compare to Ancient Mysteries.
Unleash the Hounds- A neat comeback card, this excels at surprising your opponents out of nowhere when they thought they had the game under control. Combining this with Leokk from Animal Companion or Timber Wolf lets you kill your opponents when they least expect it.
Stormhammer- Combined with dragons like Rotnest Drake, Faerie Dragon, and Primordial Explorer, this weapon often stays on the field for much longer than the typical Eaglehorn Bow, and is also more proactive in its method of retaining durability.
Blazing Battlemage- An overall good card that sees play in most decks that can take advantage of the early game. Also sees play in other aggresive/tempo decks, and is an overall safe craft.
Cards that you may wish to swap out for the above upgrades:

Woop Woop, climb ladder quickly without spending any dust/coins?! 🤑
🤔 Hmmm...so it's a SMASH THE FACE deck...
🤔 Hmmm...what about a nice aggro deck to farm gold on casual, winning in a row?
Very nice guide, gave me a overall about a basic, and efficient, way to build and upgrade a hunter deck. I recently got some naisu cards on Salviors of Undum pack and changed my deck:
BUT FIRST, LET ME HELP U :3
I got a nice, very naisu, suggestion! I read some comments about your deck and seems that you already gave some paths to upgrate the deck. For example (open spoiler):
Back to my deck changes, what do you suggest to modify taking into consideration what i got:
What I got for hunter: 2x Explosive Trap, 2x Freezing Trap, 1x Hunting Mastiff, 2x Scavenging Hyena, 1x Snake Trap, 1x Deadly Shot, 2x Unleash the Hounds, 1x Desert Spear, 1x Hunter's Pack, 1x Hyena Alpha, 1x Carrion Drake, 1x Explosive Shot, 2x Savannah Highmane, 1x Scarlet Webweaver, 1x Swarm of Locusts, 1x Wild Bloodstinger
Neutral I got: 2xJar Dealer, 2x Beaming Sidekick, 2x Murmy, 1x Bug Collector, 2x EVIL Cable Rat, 1x Kobold Sandtrooper, 1x Lost Spirit, 2x Serpent Egg, 2x Spitting Camel, 2x Desert Hare, 2x Golden Scarab, 1x Spellward Jeweler, 1x Vulpera Scoundrel, 1x Body Wrapper, 1x Conjured Mirage, 1x Heroic Innkeeper
My actual SMASH THE FACE hunter deck:
(open spoiler)
In fact I'm not really winning in a nice streak, maybe some wrong sinergy? Idk, I tried some changes, but that is the best I got. Need your help, thank you very much for your nice effort and guide.
Edit: 50% winrate, average game: 4.2min, max winstreak 2, at casual to farm gold (conceding when bad hand start or annoying opponent)
Edit: I don't like the "Tracking" card discarding cards, it's really a "must have" card? What the best way to play it, just late game, just when nothing to react? Could I change with something?

Edit: Deck code not working, or im using it wrong? 🤔🤔🤔
Hi BigMat! I'm so sorry I didn't see this comment earlier - School is heavily weighing me down. I won't have time to make the suggestions that you've added for the upgrade section, but I do agree that that format would be much better.
As for your deck, I'd take out 1x Hunting Mastiff, 1x Arcane Shot, 2x Multi-Shot 2x Tundra Rhino, and 2xRazorfen Hunter.
I'd slot in 1x Desert Spear, 2x Murmy, 2x Beaming Sidekick, 2x Unleash the Hounds, and 1x Deadly Shot.
This moves your deck closer to the midrange Hunter archetype, which is far more prevalent in the meta.
Also, Tracking is an amazing card. Don't think of casting tracking and picking only 1 of the 3 options as "discarding two cards", but rather "playing a 28 card deck". The fewer cards you have in your deck, the better, since you can choose which cards to keep (the better cards) and which cards to thin out (the worse cards). Play tracking when you need to dig for a specific card and/or when there's nothing you can do to spend mana more efficiently.
Hey thank you so much for this deck(and the guide)!!
I checked this deck out because it needed 0 dust and so taught I would give it a try, i fared much better. Then I taught I would make a few upgrades, so I added the highmains and explosive traps, got my fist few wins and went to rank 23. Now I think I will make all the upgrades. I recently got the Dinotamer Brann and Hyena Alpha. Do you recommend these cards for this deck (since they were highly rated cards) and what should I be replacing from the fully upgraded version of this deck?
PS: I am f2p.
Thank you for your comment! While I would certainly recommend slotting in Hyena Alpha, you should make sure you have enough secrets to consistently trigger it. Somewhere around 4-6 is probably enough secrets for now. My suggestions would be Freezing Trap and Snipe, since they are at the common rarity. As for Dinotamer Brann, it's just not worth it unless you also have Zephrys the Great (which I don't recommend crafting).
I have a list right under the upgrade list that also shows some cards that you could remove from the deck to make room for the secrets and Hyena Alpha. If you want more specifics, feel free to ask.
Bro, thank u for a guide. Can u say, pls, what a standard cards (in ur guide) i can swap for all cards what u r recommended (upgrade)?
or just write a deck with upgrades, please.
P.S. Sorry my englando pls
I've just updated the deck again to include a list of some cards that you may wish to switch out. Alternatively, you can also check the more recent comments for some suggestions that I made.
Similar to an earlier comment, and with the release of Rise of Shadows, what would you now suggest to replace for the Secrets and Highmane?
I'm assuming that you're asking what to take out when putting in the secrets and highmane.
Mostly the same as before. Take out weak links like Stonetusk Boar. If you're planning to use all 4 of the recommended cards, take out Wolfrider, Murloc Tidehunter, 1 copy of Acidic Swamp Ooze, and 1 copy of Shattered Sun Cleric.
If you're asking about what cards in this standard rotation are good for Hunter, some nice budget cards are Springpaw, Unleash the Beast, Baited Arrow, and Shimmerfly. These cards all take you more toward a midrange approach as well, so be prepared for slightly slower games that focus more on getting value out of each card than just hitting your opponent over and over.
Lol just started using this with all the upgrades (except Deathstalker Rexxar) and I'm currently 6-0 in ranked.
The only change I made was that I put in a Starving Buzzard instead of one of the Tundra Rhino's.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the feedback!
I'd like to note - Deathstalker is no longer shown in the upgrade list, and for good reason. It's out of standard.
Also, I think that Starving Buzzard is way too slow of a card. A 5 mana 3/2 that doesn't do anything immediately as it hits the battlefield is really dependent on your opponent being unable to kill it. I'd suggest you take it out of the deck if you start losing - it may be the reason.
OMG was getting MASHED almost every game. I was probably about 2 games away from quitting Hearthstone forever. I gave this deck a swing and WOO HOO, I am really enjoying the game again.
Sorry for the caps but this needs to be shouted ....THANK YOU.
Just wanna say thank you for creating this guide. A lot of guides just share the cards in the deck and don't include a strategy. I've won 2 games in a row so far and both times my health only went down to 25-22.
Also, what cards do I swap out for Snake Trap and Savannah Highmane?
Other than that, pretty nice & fun F2P deck. Thanks for sharing~! ^.^
Thanks for the feedback!
You'd probably want to take out the weak links - cards like Multi-Shot, Stonetusk Boar, and/or Murloc Tidehunter.
My first net deck and ive not lost a game yet. Thanks for your efforts!
I got Halazzi and some spirits for my free Loa, any place for them?
I haven't done much testing with Halazzi (since I don't have him, lol). I don't think he really has a place in a face deck, since his lynxes have rush and Halazzi himself lacks major stats. This means that playing Halazzi loses you tempo (and therefore face damage). Halazzi belongs in a midrange deck, so I'd suggest you look for one of those instead. If you really want to use this one, take out the two Wolfriders and a Murloc Tidehunter. This also means that you are playing the deck slower.
Hello, what cards do you recommend swapping out for the upgrade options?
Good question! It depends on the cards that you want to swap in. Here's some stuff to get you started, though:
Dire Mole can replace Stonetusk Boar
Secrets could replace Shattered Sun Cleric and Acidic Swamp Ooze
Deathstalker Rexxar can replace a Tundra Rhino
Flanking Strike should almost certainly replace Multi-Shot
If there are any other cards you'd like to ask about, go straight ahead!
