Finally legend, after 4 years of casual play on the first month when I tried hard - and it was hard indeed but I succeeded!
After some success with Shudderwoch Shammy, then Odd Rogue, then Control Warlock, and then Cube Hunter, finally - as I become more familiar with the meta - I decided to make the last push with Quest Rogue:

Here's some sort of mini-guide:
Mulligan: search for card draw (Novice Engineer, Mimic Pod) and Sonya Shadowdancer to finish your quest asap!
The main difficulty of the deck is to stay alive in the first part of the game. The easiest way to complete the quest is to use Sonya Shadowdancer + any of the charge/rush minions continuosly sacrificing them against one of your opponent's minion (and thus clearing the board too). Otherwise use any cheap mininon you can bounce back-and-forth.
When your quest is completed you should aim to gain board control (against aggro and midrange) and finish your opponent asap (against control).
The ultimate infinite wombo-combo in matches that last really long is playing Giggling Inventor as Valeera the Hollow, bounce it back with Youthful Brewmaster and bounce back the Youthful Brewmaster with its copy from Shadow Reflection. This provides three 4/4 minions (two of them with taunt and divine shield) every turn forever.
My final boss match:

Good luck for your climb, I will gladly answer any of your questions, upvotes are appreciated (thanks in advance)!
WHY! WON'T! THIS! DECK! DIE?!
Imo the answer is simple: it was "resurrected" with the introduction of Giggling Inventor. That card is strong generally but insane in Quest Rogue decks!
Zola replacement? Only card i dont have.
It is necessary to finish the quest asap. You desperately search at the beginning of the game for cards that let you "bounce" your minions (Shadowstep, Youthful Brewmaster, etc.) and cutting Zola the Gorgon decreases your chances.
The other panda (Ancient Brewmaster) could be a replacement, but it is much worse (costs more and does not leave the target on the board). Write in the comments how it performed if you tried it.
Tried cheat death, much slower but still work i guess
It is not only much slower, but also very inconsistent, it can be played around easily. But I'm curious to hear your experiences if you will give it a try.
Anyway, Zola the Gorgon can be helpful in some other popular decks too (namely Shudderwock Shaman for example), so if you have the dust for it, it is a safe card to craft.
Crafted Zola, and I must say, this is awesome!
Oh yes, the whole deck is awesome (credits to Sipiwi)! :)
