0. PROLOGUE

Control Warrior was always close to my heart. For a very long time this archetype wasn't that viable and popular, but I really hope at least its viability will change during The Boomsday. It received many great cards which fill some holes, so maybe this time Blizzard did something really great to this playing style.

I named the deck after it's ability of shipping. With The Boomship it is shipping minions on board, but with other stuff it brings cards to your hand. And of course the deck guarentees you a bunch of armor.

Currently I'm doing quite good on high ladder. (Had many games on tablet which are not recorded.)

1. ABOUT THE CARDS

Baku the Mooneater: The main idea behind the deck is gaining armor. You can win the fatigue matchups with it, and with the use of Reckless Flurry you can also clear the board easily. Or just kill a big threat with Shield Slam.
It's also a great idea against Malygos decks. After armor gaining, it's impossible to kill you with Malycombos.

Darius Crowley: I really like the flavour of this minion. Grants you a trade and sticks on the board as a big threat which must be removed. A great tempo changer.

Zilliax: Currently maybe this is my favourite card in the new set. It heals you 2 times, guarantees 2 hits and one of those hits is almost free. In addition it has taunt.

Eternium Rover: It's a great 1-drop. If you ask me, one of the best in Standard. A great way to gain armor, but also a good target for Zilliax during mid-game. Your early-game becomes more consistent and a 1/3 is always a good starting minion on Turn 1.

Town Crier: In the very first version I was running 2 copies of this card, but that was too much and decreased the building space. In my opinion 1 copy is enough and most of the time tutors a card which can be great in the mid or late-game.

Voodoo Doll: The deck really needed an extra removal besides Shield Slam. Just the 3rd version received this card and it really helps against big-threat-opponents. Moreover you don't have to be greedy with your removals. Whirlwind is a great enabler for this card, but if you would like to be sure with Brawl, you can use this minion before the cast.

Baron Geddon: An aoe which doesn't kill your armor that hard can't be bad. And it remains on board. I really like this card in the deck, won so much games for me. It can also be a finisher in fatigue matchups. (One of the Replays against Taunt Druid is a great example)

The Boomship: In my opinion previously one of the problems with Control Warrior was the lack of sudden threat and a finisher from hand. I don't like the build of Odd Quest Warrior, so had to figure something else. As you see in the replays, it can win the games for you and it's also a game-changer.

King Mosh: A big minion for The Boomship and a reliable removal.

Ysera: As King Mosh, it also helps The Boomship to be more viable. Dream cards are great and it's still a big minion and a threat, which can win the game.

Omega Assembly: Fills your hand with usable mechs and sometimes gives you sick cards. But at the very least, it's a guaranteed value at the late-game. If you already played your big minions, you can use this for shipping.

Gorehowl: A great way to clear threats during many turns. Your armor saves you from taking some really serious damage.

2. GENERALLY ABOUT THE PLAYING STYLE

Your task sounds easy: stay alive. You must use your removals wisely and think about your health (and armor) as a resource.

Against aggro, most of the time you would like to clear the board in Turn 5 (or sometimes 4, if you have the coin) with Tank up! and Reckless Flurry. After that, you can outvalue your opponents easily. You have to ask yourself during surviving: should I use my hero power or play minions? Check out the replays against Zoo Warlock, hope it helps!

If you're facing control, you have to decide how much you can draw. Drawing cards without thinking is a bad idea for the fatigue-phase. Gain armor as much as possible and don't let your opponents to create a decent board. Your late-game can be fantastic, if you can save your value-resources. Also shouldn't let your removals out of your hand easily.

Playing against a guaranteed OTK is very hard. You have to make pressure, but often your draws are just not good enough to do that. In this case, you sadly screwed. Against Malygos and other not guaranteed OTK decks are good friends. Just gain armor and watch how your opponent's hope collapses.

3. MULLIGAN GUIDE

Eternium Rover: A great 1-drop card which gives you armor and trades.

Town Crier: Just because it's a 1-drop and gives you a guaranteed mid-game.

Stonehill Defender: Can give you something for the next turn. Or just for value.

Acolyte of Pain: A guaranteed draw and a threat.

If you know that your opponent has a big early threat, you should keep Shield Slam, because for the turn where your opponent plays a big minion, you will have enough armor to remove that. For example against Warlock it's a better card than Acolyte of Pain, simply because Mountain Giant.

It's optional, but I like to keep Reckless Flurry against Warlock and Paladin, just to be sure.

4. MATCHUPS

In-depths matchups guide later, if you show interest.
Currently see: Generally about the playing style AND Mulligan Guide. Maybe currently these topics give you a direction.

5. REPLACEMENTS

Possible decent additions:
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius: Most of his hero powers are usable, and with Omega Assembly it's battlecry can be decent. Furthermore it gives you 7 armor. The reason I didn't include him is the guaranteed 4 armor per turn, but it's subjective. Maybe I would cut Baron Geddon or Harrison Jones for him.

Giggling Inventor: One of the most annoying minion in the set against aggro decks. The taunt guys have to receive 4 hits to be disappeared or your opponent must use a removal. All options are good. I would cut Baron Geddon and/or Harrison Jones for her. It's also a stable change if your Collection is not that good.

If you miss some cards, remove the following:
Gorehowl: Fiery War Axe can be an alternative option. Not the same, but much cheaper.

Baron Geddon: Just like the replacement of Gorehowl, Fiery War Axe can do some job at the early-game. It's not the same in terms of use and abilities, but maybe you can still play the deck. Giggling Inventor is also an okay change.

Harrison Jones: It's here for a Malygos-counter (Twig of the World Tree) and draws, but I believe he's not that neccessary. Take Giggling Inventor, Gluttonous Ooze or Ironbeak Owl in instead.

Voodoo Doll: Maybe Ironbeak Owl does some job.

Thanks for reading the guide! If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free write a comment below. Also if I missed something out or wrote some stupidity.

update log:
- 14th of Aug: An epic replay added (vs. Control Warlock)

Important note: I do not recommend to invest that much dust into this deck. We are very early after the release, everything can happen with the meta. All I wanted is to give a direction for building and a usable deck to have fun and great results.
