I used this deck to hit legend on 10/4/2018
I used this deck as one of my decks to reach legend 9/14/2018. I posted my three lists i played on my twitter link can be found below
https://twitter.com/DuwinHS/status/1040141343165689856
How i build my list
I play the 28 on the left sometimes i change Quick Shot to Grievous Bite when aggro is high. I also chose add two cards from the right to fight different metas.
*Loatheb should be one of the 28 the pic below only has 27 cards*
Videos of me Piloting the deck
I play different tech cards in the deck and change these to adjust to different metas the list that i have on my hearthpwn wont always match the lists you see on camera. But these videos should help players see how i pilot the deck.
Card Choices
Stitched Tracker - allows you to consistently find any of the key creatures that you need for explosive turns. Also helps you cast multiple Loatheb's which is a wincon on its own in some matchups.
Harrison Jones - I run this when facing a lot of Aluneth so this card has helped a lot in that matchup. I also like that most decks have access to getting a weapon so the extra card draw from Harrison is nice in a deck that can throw away its hand.
Swamp King Dred - A nice way to deal with Combo Druids before i was running Dirty Rat but Dred seems better because its better in other matchups and Combo Druids cant combo with Dred present because he will kill he Aviana.
[Update 8/8/18] testing Secret Plan instead of mad scientist and it has been fun so far but i haven't decided if its better yet to edit the posted list.
[Update 8/14/2018] to combat druid i added in a Dirty Rat and also to give more card draw and to help some bad matchups i added in Azalina Soulthief
[Update 8/31/2018] removed Dirty Rat and Azalina Soulthief for Harrison Jones and Swamp King Dred
[Update 9/13/2018] I added Rat Trap to combat kingsbane rogues.
The other hunter list i play
Minion (2)
Ability (23)
Weapon (4)
Playable Hero (1)

I don't own Subject 9, and so close to Rastakhan coming out I am not going to use my hard earned Dust.
Is Professor Putricide a decent replacement? If not, what would be a decent replacement?
İs deathknight rexxar essential. Any viable decks with subject 9 as the only legendary?
Depends on how viable. Rexxar is crucial to this deck and is the decks main way to fight a late game. You can still win some matches with this deck only running Subject 9 but you will lose a lot of matches to other decks late game. Rexxar right now in wild is really carrying the class and is essential in most hunter lists other then mech hunter.
Awesome I believe you are on my discord now because i got asked a similar question if not i can post the comment or stop by and check out my discord and we can talk anytime. https://discord.gg/qe5TNP
What are your thoughts about running this list with 2 arcane giants?
The version of sub9 hunter that runs them is currently quite popular on the forums and id like to hear your thoughts on it due to your in depth guide and general knowledge of secret hunter.
I have found them to be very slow and tried them early on when Boom was released. Most lists I run into above rank 5 and in legend matches are this one or very close to it. Check out the videos I included of me piloting the deck in high legend to show an example of the power of this build.
Very fun and i love how he is someone to tracker for when i don't really have a specific card I need. Also Putricide is hard to play around because your secrets are less predictable. I have been playing wild legend games with subject 9 since Boom was released and the deck is real.
Not more helpful in bad matchups more helpful over all. I feel it’s playing a better role at our midrange plan which overall is better in other matchups then dirty rat. This deck can get ahead because of the secrets so having a 7 drop 9/9 is also nice to continue applying pressure after our wolves put in work. I am still testing Swamp King Dred but the games I’ve played it feels good. Dred and Harrison are two flex spots to run minions that disrupt the current meta. I have had some Druids concede to Dred which feels good.
Edit:I’ve been seeing more Druid then mage so right now when I que this I dropped Harrison for Dirty Rat and just run both.
Don’t you have too little secret diversity? Just asking because other lists have bear trap, rat trap, dark trap, etc.?
But maybe just 2 or 3 secrets draws make Subject 9 good enough.
We have the potential to draw the full 5 but it’s not always nescarry. I’m hovering around rank 20 legend with this list. I also feel that it can fight any matchup which is nice.
@monkeydigest thanks! I agree with everything you said these are for sure the most powerful secrets.
I just learned how to record videos of my phone screen so I'm hoping to post videos soon so others can see the deck in action. If you ever have any suggestions for cards i would love to hear them as well. This and spell hunter are two of the most fun decks i have ever played and i honestly struggle playing other decks because i like my two main hunter decks so much. Also you can add me in game anytime as well Duwin#1542 : )
This a tough one for this list exclusively i would have to say Subject 9 because the card draw is very important. Loatheb on the other hand is one of the best legendaries in wild and you will get more use out of this in the long run. Once you fill your board and your opponent doesn't clear it playing loatheb the next turn locks your opponent out of a board sweep and this will give you the win in the following turn most likely. Loatheb can be bought from the Naxx Expansion which might be an option for you.
As far as secret plan over tracking it may just be a player preference. I like tracking to help me find Emerald Spellstone and Deathstalker Rexxar. The most current version of this deck im playing i removed both mad scientists and im running a Dirty Rat and Secret Plan. Dirty rat is in here to combat all the druid decks that i am seeing.
opps thanks for this ill correct the original post
Here is my previous list before Subject 9 and i did pretty good with it but subject 9 gave this deck the extra draw that it needed.
Another deck if you like playing Deathstalker Rexxar is playing spell hunter which i included as the other hunter deck that i play.
I am actually taking out Dirty Rat because it has screwed me so many times against priest... what to replace it with? Another Secret Plan?
You have to know the matchup when playing dirty rat. Against priest you have to assume they are on big priest so you wouldn’t play it against them it’s a pretty dead card in that matchup because you can’t rely on it hitting Barnes but that’s a pretty terrible matchup anyway. The second secret plan can work as a replacement for sure though.
That's what I ended up doing... I also replaced both Tracking with 2 Arcane Giant. This has REALLY helped against those using Dirty Rat, and for quick board control getting them out as early as possible via spells.
How about adding a Yogg Saron? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I’ve done this in previous builds because tracker allows for multiple Yoggs. I think In the long run it’s more fun than competitive this deck can throw it’s hand pretty quick and being left with a 10 drop early will be tough. The Yogg nerf hurt the card as far as consistency. Another card I’ve considered that i have run in Yogg builds is Arcane Giant, with the giant I would probably run Secret Plan. I also think there may be a viable Lock and Load build of this deck and maybe that would be a good one for Yogg as well. I haven’t messed around with lock and load yet since has build has been working really well. Sorry to ramble on I have a lot of experience with secret hunters and like talking about the deck.
Awesome! Good luck! Keep me posted on how it goes.
