Update 12.08.2018: This deck can be currently found on HSReplay.
If you feel like you can pilot Control decks, let me introduce you to my Boomsday take on Control Warrior!
I tried few decks already but this so far performed really well. It looks like while pure Mech Warrior is not powerfull in Wild. The Control Warrior which uses Dr. Boom, Mad Genius however. was slaying ladder for me. So far I have 24-7 with this deck and it really feels like Warrior is doing something powerfull.
Mulligan
Aggro: Mountainfire Armor, Weapons Project, Warpath, Blood Razor. If you feel confident enough Mossy Horror for mid-game turn 6
Midrange: Execute,Shield Block, Mountainfire Armor, Weapons Project, Warpath, Blood Razor, Brawl
Combo and Control: Dirty Rat, Shield Block,Brawl, Shieldslam or Execute. Coldlight Oracle, Dr. Boom, Mad Genius
The list below features the most imnportant cards in the deck which make this deck rewarding to play and interesting to play:
Weapons Project : This is a solid card for Control Warrior for controlling the board early. Also it is pretty good weapon removal for Skull,Aluneth and Kingsbane
Dead Man's Hand This card allows you to go infinite. And it is pretty good wincondition against Rogues that are trying to do the same)
Skulking Geist Don't want Jade Druid to go infinite? Do you hate when Inner Fire buffs fat Priest minion and hurts your face? Do you really hate those Deadly Poisons from Kingsbane Rogue? Skulking Geist is amazing solution! Now only for 400 dust!
Mossy Horror: Nothing to say. Tech card against small minions and Spreading Plague
Dirty Rat: Don't you hate when opponent tries to do some op combo? I mean who doesn't right? Well Dirty Rat can solve that problem and pull important combo piece or strong wincondition.
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius: Nothing to say. Warrior finally got late game focused Hero card and its amazing.
N'Zoth, the Corruptor: I think it's pretty obvious that your opponents is gonna loose when you swarm your board with endless N'Zoths. ;)
Flexible cards:
Coldlight Oracle can be easily replaced by the Acolyte of Pain. It all depends on the local meta that you are facing. Are you facing more Aggro,Tempo and Midrange decks? Then Acolyte is definitelly better. Are you facing Mill,Combo and Control decks? Then Coldlight is better.
Is it possible to beat shudder at all? i havent had any luck
Rat is often played in that matchup after all the combo pieces were played. That means he most likely have shudder in Hand and that is good time to Rat
Thanks for the response im just never lucky lmao, think an azalina tech is a good idea? i've been facing alot of them lately on ladder, round rank 15
If you want to tech Azalina against Shudderwock, then don't. The only usefull Battlecry would be N'Zoth. If you face a lot of shudderwocks though, you can switch to more greedy version with Coldlights instead of Acolytes. Coldlights are amazing and really deadly with Dead Mans Hand. Im currently running version with Coldlight and I havent lost to any Shudderwock even when I didnt manage to pull him out with Rat.
Well Placed Coldlights and/or dirty rats work miracles against Shudderwocks, i've actually fatigued shammy's to death whilst they had 8 1mana shudderwocks in hand, its a very tough match however.
That's what the Dirty Rat is for.
dinsii strikes again with a good answer. :D The Mechathun Warlock and MalyDruid have nothing to do against well-timed Dirty Rat. Just time them right(meaning to play them when they are either closer to the combo or have a lot of cards in hand, it requires good hand reading). Also I had a few games where MalyDruid simply couldn't kill me even with a full combo due to the fact that this deck can gain a lot of Armor as good ol' Wallet Warrior
I think that deathlord is just a better mountanfire armor. Been running it my way and having much more success. Just feedback...
In my opinion Deathlord is better against aggro but feels really bad against "Big" decks like Big Priest.
dinsii Answered this comment pretty well. Yes Deathlord might be better in some situations. But it's all fun and games until you get matched against Big Priest,Big Rogue or Cubelock and then your Deathlord pulls something big out of their deck.
Also Mountainfire Armor is extremely underrated card. It has 4/3 statline so it can trade with quite a lot of things and it's obnoxious to kill since it gives you 6 extra health.
Thank you man) In an experienced hands this deck is hardly beatable and sometimes it feels even broken :D
what about running an alexstrasza for easier late game wins? same with lich king since he provides a good presence on the board and generates extremely useful cards (under right conditions) or even kelthuzad with nzoth either turn after or before?
The cards that you have mentioned are good under these circumstances: 1. You have way to cheat it out or ressumon them early. 2. Or meta is more slower so you can afford to run this card which is not the case of Wild since meta changes there everyday and 3 Tier 1 decks are either Aggro or Midrange. It is too risky to play. This deck focuses more on removing and staying alive and then overwhelming your opponent with N'Zoth or mill plan trough Coldlights and such. Also what cards do you think would be worth replacing for the cards that you have mentioned?
what about the new warrior legendary spell? i was looking at this deck:
https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1158124-tbp-good-ol-control-warrior
to see what differences there are between standard warrior and wild warrior and it seems that in standard it's a lot more minion heavy for a vast array of different ways to win so i was just curious on why this was the case :)
(btw you've made a good deck here that i am going to craft)
N'Zoth is doing his job better than whole big minion Standard package at contesting the board and giving you multiple effects after board is cleared. Thank you for your feedback and questions. Good luck and have fun)
This deck is great! I never really played warrior, because I couldn't afford the control decks (and I hate playing fast decks), but for this one I "only" was missing two epics. I especially like how all the tech cards fit in there.
So far I only played 8 games and lost 4 of them (which is fine for now, the deck is not that easy to play):
Won against: Renolock (was close), Control mage (DMH + discovered Sneeds + 1000 Nzoth's were MVP), Mechathun druid (Skulking Geist MVP), odd paladin (EZ).
I am definitely playing this a lot more in future! Thanks!
Thank you for the feedback) This deck is indeed not easy to pilot but when you get to it it is rewarding. I remember writing in one of the threads before Boomsday release that my least favourite class was Warrior but after getting Boom as a free legendary and building this deck I really like Warrior more now :D
I seem to have MASSIVE problems against cubelock though. Any suggestions there? I just get stomped by them every time.
Weapons Project, Shield Block and Brawl are worth keeping in mulligan for Cubelock matchup. Bait him to spend some resources and Brawl him, Weapons Project is really good against Skull and Shieldblock and overall card draw is really good for you to get to draw more removals and minions.
Great deck went from 6 to legend in about 83 games not bad for 1st xpac week. This deck is very hard to play well, it takes time to understand how u set up win conditions. I see alot of ppl having trouble, you really have to stay on top of your resources, especially setting up ur dead man's hand, you dont want to clunk up your deck with extra cards you dont need to keep the game going in ur favor. I see alot of ppl using dead man's at terrible times with hands that will clunk up your deck.
