CHECK OUT A DECK VIDEO BELOW!
Hey guys this is my newest deck. I took a similar shell to Malygos Druid have been making tweaks for the past couple hours with the new cards and have come up with this so far. Will continue to make changes, but so far the list has simply been improving and improving. Here are some important decisions:
Only 1 Dreampetal Florist because this card is too slow to be a two of and consistent, but eases your combo significantly even if it hits Floop or Faceless and lets you combo out more things to reach for even more damage. You can EASILY set up for a 22 burst with Malygos + Faceless/Floop and 2 Moonfires for literally only a 4 card combo with 1 turn of set up. This card is also nice because its psuedo-taunt; too threatening for your opponent to leave up.
Biology Project offers ramp off the charts. Simple as that, you're able to benefit like crazy off of it.
The BEST CASE SCENARIO Combo:
Step 1: Dreampetal Florist reduces the chost of Malygos to 2:
Step 2: Drop Malygos for 2, Faceless Manipulator for 5, and Taldaram for 3.
Step 3: Break the Twig of the World Tree, Flobbidinous Floop your Faceless for another Malygos.
Step 4: Swipe & Double Moonfire for a 66 damage combo.
Obviously this combo is extremely mana ineffecient and could probably be honed further and I will continue to do so. However, the fact that the combo is so flexible with its mana and how much damage you need is the strength of Malygos druid and lets you flex in other options as need be, even to a case where you can use Wild Growth or Ferocious Howl to top deck combo pieces in a pinch.
edit 1: added inJuicy Psychmelon, Wild Growth and Lich King. The package with the melon gives you a really nice way to draw into specific combo pieces. Took out a Biology Project, Ultimate Infestation, and an Arcane Tyrant. Biology Project is a really matchup favorable/unfavorable card, and felt pretty bad to play against other control/combo decks. Juicy Psychmelon tutor allows UI to not be a 2-of, and Arcane Tyrant loses some potency with UI gone so I felt like it was a natural cut.
edit 2: cut the other biology project. You simply aren't a true ramp druid to be able to consistently benefit off this card significantly more than your opponent. Added back in an Arcane Tyrant.
edit 3: taldaram is in!!!! makes the combos so much more reliable
https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1165344-mechathun-tier-1 This is my version of the deck! I think its fairly cheaper than most. and if you wanna upvote these decks while you're at it I'd love ya :p
I'm still missing a bunch of cards so I don't know if I will be testing it just yet. I got mecha'thun and gloop though so I might try the mecha'thun deck instead for now. it uses a lot of the same cards though so I will be able to run a cheaper version of this deck as well.
have you tried mecha'thun druid at all?
also I have a maly rogue that is pretty nuts. a lot cheaper than the druid versions. (well it was for me anyway as I had all the cards for it, ha ha)
I could probs actually make the extra bit of dust for this and craft all of it.
do you think this will continue to be a strong deck? I am so tempted to just go for it, but I am missing a bit of dust.
I guess I could just not craft twig for now and get it once I have the dust for it.
I actually have been trying Mecahthun as well with a TON of success, it might be even better than this one. I've been playing it this morning and I am so far 6-0 with it, kind of insane how well my list can perform against all matchups. If you're interested, I'd be more than happy to post that one to the hearthpwn forums as well.
viable without twig now? trying to save dust.
Without Twig, you're leaving a lot of the game up to the inconsistency of being able to hit Malygos/Faceless Manip with your Dreampetal Florist, so that one is pretty key, but let me know how your experimentation without it goes
Hard to pilot, but possibly will become the top Boomsday deck in the next few weeks...
Yeah that's what makes the deck so powerful I think. There are mutliple different ways you can piece together the combo for the amount of damage you need.
Why not run Alextraza to make the combo easier?
Alexstraza is an option but the combo already achieves so much damage situationally that it seems like it would be redundant.
Yeah youre probably right, I have even noticed that the weapon isnt even needed depending on the situation
