OTK: Play Lesser Diamond Spellstone to summon Prophet Velen and Malygos (7 mana), Mind Blast (2 mana, 20 dmg), Holy Smite (1 mana, 14 dmg) for a 10 mana, 34 damage combo.
Mulligan: Always look for Shadow Essence and Shadow Visions. It is okay to keep Prophet Velen in starting hand vs. slower decks. Never keep Malygos or Obsidian Statue.
Gameplan: Survive the first 5 turns by healing yourself with hero power and removing key threats from opponent's side of the board with removal spells. Don't waste your AOE. Be greedy with it. Save Spirit Lash for combo to clear board and heal back to full health if possible. Psychic Scream is MVP once you get to late game.
Use an early turn Shadow Visions to fish for Shadow Essence or critical removal (Spirit Lash, SW:Pain, SW: Death).
Always be looking for the combo but it is okay to resurrect minions without the combo as long as you can survive until playing a spellstone.
Obsidian Statue helps improve odds against token decks like odd paldain, odd rogue and warlock zoo. It doesn't hurt resurrect pool.
This deck is weak to transform, silence and sap. Shudderwock Shaman is a bad matchup. It is also weak to wide aggro boards that can buff above 2 health.
Thanks for posting this deck!
After playing this build a bit, one small but significant sub I made was cutting Binding Heal in favor of Shadowreaper Anduin. Anduin has been great in this build: board clear against high attack minions, can help you get there versus armor gain opponents, chip away at board-centric decks, and has great synergy with Prophet Velen.
I chose to cut Binding Heal because you have to have a minion on board to play it. It doesn't help you stay alive in aggro matchups (which are highly unfavored to begin with), because you can't put a minion on board until Shadow Essence at the earliest, and it doesn't really help you stay in a game when you need to either with only 5 health gain. Whenever I had a dead card in my hand for the majority of the game, it was typically Binding Heal.
