Hello Hearthpwn! Today I decided to delve a little into putting together a short guide for a deck I was highly pleased with after getting fed up with all of the sheep BM Priests, oh I mean MB / Inner Fire Priests in the first day of Tavern Brawl. I was going to wait until the last day to post this, but here ya go!

Enjoy your roughly 90-95% win rate against priests with this deck!

Meet the priest destroyer: Odd Quest Warrior!

What's the strat to deal with a deck that has two easy to use OTK combos in its deck? Massive and constant armor gain, constant taunts, and proactive poisonous minions of course!

Here's what to do:

  • For Mulliganning: Toss away the quest (You don't use it for priests, but for everything that is not priest). Instead go for Giant Wasp, Stoneskin Basilisk, Iron Hide, Shield Slam, Wax Elemental and/or Goldshire Footman
  • Turn 1, Ironhide up or drop one of your 1 mana taunts.
  • Turn 2, Tank Up for 4 armor (if you didn't get Iron Hide) or drop 1-2 one mana taunts.
  • Turn 3, drop Giant Wasp or Stoneskin Basilisk to ensure you can answer a minion that the priest uses to get health buffs going. Your minion will ensure that they can't OTK you with Inner Fire. If they already have a minion you need to drop some taunts first and then later clean up all minions with Shield Slam (If they already have health buffs rolling), or Rabid Worgen if they drop a naked minion with no buffs.
  • Along with the above strategies you need to maintain armor and health that equal to more than the number of cards in their hand minus 2 * 5 (ie You need enough health and armor to survive the number of Mind Blasts after they drop their 2 elementals to OTK you. If the priest has 9 cards in hand and no minions on board you need to have 36 health plus armor (37 if you're paranoid about a super rare Mind Blast top deck after they waste their spells on your face.
  • Often time the more intelligent priest sheep will abandon their MB OTK once they realize they will never get lethal and instead will go for Inner Fire combo to kill you. When going into the late game the key is to make sure the priest never has minions on board for them to buff and kill you next turn (play around Mass Dispel here. This is where late game proactive Wasps, Basilisks, and taunts come into play. Massive Shield Slams and Owls + Rabid Worgens also help.
  • Most priests don't run Mass Dispel and Shadow Madness, but some do. This is why it is important to clear their elementals and bait them into wasting their Power Word: Fortitudes on cycling. If you feel they might run this combo and they start buffing your own minion immediately owl it so that you don't get smacked with a thousand attack minion.

Below is an example of a near perfect starting hand with this deck.

When your board resembles something close to the screenshot below you are almost guaranteed a win against both the Mind Blast OTK and the Inner Fire OTK.

It is CRUCIAL to BM emote your opponent at the start of the game if they are priest! You aren't playing this deck correctly if you're not making priests feel bad and want to uninstall the game by being denied brainless wins.

Let this stand as an example that Hearthstone is always more of an enjoyable game when you break the meta with a homebrew as opposed to being a sheep who doesn't take the time to enjoy the creativity of deckbuilding.   ^_-

Enjoy! And stomp some priests for free gold.
