Greetings everyone, I've got a brand new Dragon Priest deck for you all to use and critique! So far, my winrate with this deck is 90% out of 20 games. If this deck can get a decent amount of upvotes, I'll add a detailed guide, but, for now, I'll leave you with a quick rundown:
With your mulligan, you're hoping to start with at least one dragon and a Northshire Cleric or Loot Hoarder; this allows for you to set up some early dragon synergy along with card draw. As the game progresses, you're looking to always make on-curve plays until at least turn 5. In other words, you're looking to outvalue your opponent every turn. As long as you keep the pressure on your opponent, while also being mindful of when you play your cards, you should be able to outvalue your opponent and win the game.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Nothing yet, but it will be updated soon.
UPDATE: Removed 1x Dollmaster Dorian and substituted it with 1x The Lich King.
Please, feel free to leave any comments and criticisms down in the comments! Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the deck!
'Mid Range' - more of a control deck imo
I can see what you mean, but I didn't feel it was really a control deck due to the lack of big cost minions and a reliable late-game. In my opinon, this deck doesn't need a late-game powerhouse to win the game for it. You could easily build a reliable midgame board with what I've provided. Cards like Archbishop Benedictus are more of a last-ditch effort to win the game. Lich is more of a turn 8 tempo card, and Lyra could easily be played on turn 5 or 6, ideally. You're really hoping to have board control by turn 3 and closing out by turn 8 at the latest. In this deck, I use Lich, Lyra, and Benedictus as tempo swings/cards. They're only really there just to make sure you keep the board in your favor. I hope that explains my thought process on this deck. It is quite old, mind you, and I haven't updated it since the Spiteful Summoner nerf.
This deck is fun. I kind of just sit back with it and let the opponent burn out then win late. It is fun for me to play it in wild format bc I use Benedictus and get to play a lot of cards I will likely never own and are really good. I really appreciate you posting.
I've been looking for a deck like this for a long time! I'm going to try it out and see how well it does.
I think shadow ward pain can be cut because you already run two dusk breakers.
Yeah, I'm currently play-testing a deck with Archbishop Benedictus instead of Shadow Word: Pain; it seems to be a decent change so far.

why spellstone?
I use it as a mid-late game tempo swing.
I agree. Spellstone is so good in this deck.
