Introduction
The Spiteful Nerf made a viable deck out of the OTK Malygos Druid in the current meta. The idea is to complete Jungle Giants, play Barnabus the Stomper and finally play your OTK Combo with Ixlid, Fungal Lord, Malygos, Faceless Manipulator and Moonfire. You’ll have 31 damage in total, 62 damage with two Moonfires. Our player Yannic "shianna" Lott reached Legend in a very short time with this deck.
The Deck
Key cards
Moonfire: pure damage output
Jungle GiantsCard Name: Allows you to play your combo minions for 0 mana.
Faceless Manipulator: Multiply your damage output!
Ixlid, Fungal Lord: Because you can never have enough Malygos on your board.
Malygos: All hail the aspect of the OTK!
Other cards
Lesser Jasper Spellstone: great synergies and a lot of damage potential
Wild Growth: for tempo and late game card draw
Wrath: for board control and draw
Ferocious Howl: Card draw, fits perfectly with your general game plan.
Cursed Disciple: Supports you in finishing the quest.
Oaken Summons: another quest support
Swipe: for board control and even a possible combo card with Malygos
Corrosive Sludge: To counter Aluneth and Skull of the Man’ari.
Fatespinner: Solid 5-drop to stabilize the board.
Harrison Jones: same as Corrosive Sludge but with important card draw
Nourish: more tempo (mana) or card draw for your combo
Spreading Plague: Great against aggressive decks, buys you time for your combo.
Malfurion the Pestilent: great for board control
The Lich King: strong 8-drop with great late game spells
Ultimate Infestation: armor, board presence and card draw
Why not…
- playing a second Ultimate Infestation?
- You’ll mostly have more than 6 cards in your hand what will make you overdraw when playing Ultimate Infestation. A second one would often be a dead card on your hand.
- playing a second Wrath?
- You already have a lot of damage by playing two Lesser Jasper Spellstones. We really don’t want to overextend this.
Mulligan
Keep the Quest and search for Wild Growth, Cursed Disciple and Oaken Summons.
Avoid: Malygos, Ixlid, Fungal Lord and Faceless Manipulator
when facing Rogue or Paladin: keep Spreading Plague, Swipe or Fatespinner when you’ve got one of the top cards secured.
when facing Mage: keep Wrath
when facing Warlock: keep Corrosive Sludge or Harrison Jones
Match ups & game plans
Shudderwock Shaman: Draw as many cards as possible to be the first to play the combo.
Odd Rogue: unfavoured match-up - Don’t go for combo but for board control.
Paladin: unfavoured match-up - same game plan as against Odd Rogue
Spell Hunter: Watch out for the secrets and try to play around Freezing Trap or Wandering Monster by skipping an attack.
Cube Druid: most of the times you can use one of your Faceless Manipulators to copy one of his strong minions (e.g. Charged Devilsaur, Carnivorous Cube) since you’ll still have enough damage for your OTK.
Control Warlock: favoured match-up - When he’s about to play Azari, the Devourer consider to overdraw with Ultimate Infestation as you’re going to lose the cards anyway.
Cubelock: favoured match-up - make sure to get as much value as possible out of Spreading Plague.
Tempo Mage: even match-up - go for board control instead of combo, use Moonfire to trigger Counterspell.
Control Mage: favoured match-up - try to trade your Cursed Disciple as fast as possible to save it from Polymorph.
Quest Priest: favoured match-up - Draw as many cards as possible to find your combo pieces.
Control Priest: Once again, go for your combo but gather some armor so you can’t be killed by his Shadowreaper Anduin and Mind Blast.
Warrior: Mostly Control Warrior, which is an easy target for your combo.

Is Harrison Jones needed with this deck?
Nice deck, but what happens if you draw malygos and other pieces of the combo before the quest is complete?
That's a tough one but also very unlikely to draw all pieces. Most of the times, you should be able to play double-Malygos with Moonfire. But if you really get to draw all pieces before the quest is complete, take it easy - you can't always win. :p
went from 20 to 14 and still going, takes a while to learn the deck tho
How is it possible I just thought about a Quest Malygos Druid deck and there is one here with a guide. /salute
We hope you like it! :)
