Check out this video for Insight on How to play the deck!
Hey guys! Before anything, I would like you to remember to +1 the post if you liked it. It helps me quite a bit.
KiwiiNbacon here. For those who don't know me, I'm a multiple time legendary player on the NA server. I also do deck showcase videos on youtube once in a while.
This deck is a bit weird but super satisfying to play with. The goal is to overwhelm your opponent either by abusing the strength of the spellstone early in the game or by generating a ton of value from Deathstalker Rexxar hero power. This deck is quite strong againt midrange and control decks but has difficulty against combo and aggro decks.
I personally managed to climb to rank 2 with this and so far it has been more than satisfying.
Mulligan
without coin: You will be looking for Candleshot Explosive Trap and Wandering Monster against aggro as well as Freezing Trap, and Hunter's Mark against control decks.
With coin: You can also add Eaglehorn Bow, Deadly Shot and Animal Companion to your arsenal. If you are playing against control, you should also keep Deathstalker Rexxar.
Interchangeable cards
Are you wondering why this deck is running Crushing Walls ? Do you only have one copy of To My Side! or perhaps would like to replace your missingRhok'delar?
you can always add another Deadly Shot or perhaps an Unleash the Hounds, that would always be a good start. Grievous Bite can be a pretty interesting tech against paladins and if you see to many mirror matches or perhaps even tempo mages you could consider adding a Flare to the deck. If you see a bunch more tempo or midrange decks, you should definitely add the other Eaglehorn Bow to the deck. Finally Wing Blast is always welcome to take a spot in this deck if you are missing anything, it does give a good turn when played for one!!
Card Choices
Candleshot: Early game paladin removal tool :P it is very effective against aggro and can give ridiculous results when paired with Hunter's Mark
Hunter's Mark: big target removal, excellent with Candleshot
Tracking: Ever been in a spot where you can't seem to find what you need?
Explosive Trap: Cause paladins exist unfortunately.
Freezing Trap: Warlock's bane
Flare: Mirror Winner!
Snake Trap: SNEK!
Wandering Monster: Pretty flipping good at keeping you alive or popping out a overstatted minion for the cost "sometimes".
Animal Companion: Misha is a gud Bear.
Deadly Shot: Boom headshot (get rekt Even lock)
Eaglehorn Bow: early game board control tool.
Kill Command: Always need a bit of extra damage.
Unleash the Hounds: Borf!
Flanking Strike: probably one of the best hunter card, it can flip the board around by itself!
Lesser Emerald Spellstone: Win condition/ board filler, Can't go wrong.
Deathstalker Rexxar: Win condition against control decks, also pretty sick board removal. Also it happens to be that now we have a lot of lifesteal options so survival is awesome with this card.
To My Side!: 2 Piggies for the price of one!
Crushing Walls Priest, warlocks and control druids beware!
Rhok'delar: it refills your hand, can literally win you the game by itself.
Match-ups
seems like we have to wait a couple of days before I can put any interesting data in here.
Thanks for all the support, I hope you enjoy the deck!

Great Deck, i love it <3
Played 5 times and never drewTo My Side! . Deck name checks out :D bless rng
It's possible to win against Shudderwock Shaman?
Hey, everyone! I absolutely LOVE Spell Hunter! Thanks for this awesome Deck and Guide.
I recently crafted my own variation of Spell Hunter incorporating some of your deck (as well as a few others) and a variety of the strategies provided in your guide. Although the card list is different, I feel that the video does a decent job of showcasing and explaining the deck. I included one close call match that resulted in a loss, and explained where I went wrong. I then also provided an example of a win, in order to show how to succeed with the deck.
If you are interested, you can check out the video here! https://youtu.be/7x9Iae2FEv4?list=PLVMQqFJABF9YRW_P2xlIB-9G5FZM-gljM
Thanks again for the great deck and tips, I hope you all are having as much fun with this archetype as I am!
cant win vs druids....
I've been playing a similar version, more standard, that I found in HSreplay (https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1122888-60-3-73-58-rank-5-1-spell-hunter)
Recently reached rank 1 (my highest rank ever). Spell hunter seems really strong, and it feels like, at least, you have possibilities against everything.
But I was wondering about flare. It feels like all the cards in this version are usefull in one matchup or another, but I like the idea of using flare in order not to depend that much on good draws. I don't know what card to remove...
Not viable in current meta. It's way too slow vs aggro. Can't deal with the 90% of players playing cube loc, and can't really deal with control either. I tried it and lost 10/10 games, dropping from rank 6 to 8.
If you're trolling, weak.
If you're serious, man you suck at Hearthstone. Find a new hobby.
interesting, considering that you can't drop below rank 5 once you reach it :)
I have Professor Putricide...
If I wanted to run him in this desk for the luls... what should I take out?
I also want to know this
you can take out a random minion already in the list
putricide would not work in this deck, it is designed for no minions.
Hey Kiwii, nice list :)
Flare works great vs tempo mage and other hunters. Rhok is a bit OK..and not having 2 Unleash the Hounds could prove costly.
This deck is only a few cards different from meta decks plastered all over HSReplay for the past week ...
https://hsreplay.net/decks/51vUkM2YlalN46t45mavPg/
(this one in particular is nearly identical but for a Rat Trap instead of Flare)
https://hsreplay.net/decks/6rmoEjenfLChiH68svipOe/
If you're taking credit for making the guide, then fine, but this deck is a rehash with only a tech choice or two difference.
You do Realize that when a lot of people find a deck and play it, then it gets put on HS replay automatically if they have deck tracker ???
And if you EDIT the deck it doesn't get edited on Deck tracker? so me changing the rat trap for a flare due to meta didn;t get reflected on there unfortunately.
Think before commenting ....
Think before commenting? All I said was that this deck is only a tech choice or two different from decks I have seen for weeks on HSReplay. One of them was already saved in one of my slots long before yours was posted online and I have been playing it for the past few weeks... and there were only two cards difference. Nice guide though, no need to attack me good sir. I have no reason to make things up as I enjoy your content. Good luck to you.
Well then, I seem to be the idiot :P sorry about that, I didn't mean to make you feel like I was attacking you :S
