Heroic Highlord Omokk - Mage's spell deck

Consistency: Super (win rate is close to 100%)

Introduction:

Almost any slow boss who has a strong anti-minion ability can be defeated by some variation of the same spell-based mage deck. Of course, it's not the only way. Minion spam works ok against Omokk. There are even mill druids.

In fact, I created a very fun shaman's murloc deck, which had a relatively decent 50% win rate, but I guess not many of you have a shaman's quest (Unite the Murlocs), which was mandatory in that deck. So for my first Omokk deck I decided to choose something, that is more consistent and more accessible for the players.

This mage approach isn't new. I already used it on Noth and with some modifications on Sapphiron. And there are a lot of such decks, made by other people, but... well, let's be honest. It is just too good to pass.

General strategy:

So this deck is very simple to play, requires no finesse, always wins and all its expensive cards are replaceable. It is simple, straightforward and effective like a sledgehammer. It is ideal for anyone, who just wants to beat the boss and move on, which are 90% of people who read this.

Basically kill everything, that Omokk plays, armor or heal yourself whenever needed, don't attack face with anything, except your Hero power and wait for fatigue. Once Omokk is out of cards you can use your leftover spells to speed up his downfall.

Deck composition:

This deck almost entirely consists of control spells. Direct damage, indirect damage, secrets, a bit of AoE. It is well balanced to efficiently remove threats as they come.

Specifically for this boss I had to add a couple of Antique Healbots. Together with Ice Barriers they provide 32 healing overall. This is needed, because Omokk does more guarantied (non-minion based) face damage, than other similar bosses. Basically he has 33 face damage in his deck, that you can't avoid. And say thanks to Blizzard for that Charge nerf, so you don't have to deal with Dunemaul Shaman's charges anymore.

Mulligan:

Keep Flamecannon, Frostbolt, Forbidden Flame, Vaporize, Forgotten Torch.

It may be surprising, but I also advise to keep one Ice Barrier or Antique Healbot. As I said Omokk's guarantied face damage actually exceeds your total health, so if you will be unlucky with draw, your health counter may get dangerously low at some point.

Tactic tips:

There are not many actually. Don't waste your spells on face damage until the very end, when Omokk has no cards left. This is obvious.

Keep Vaporizes for Ogre Ninjas and play them to counter their attacks specifically. It is not as important as with Noth's Spectral Knights, but it should save you a bit of health, which is good.

Omokk's TIME FOR SMASH spell bypasses your Ice Barrier. In fact, if you are low on health, then sometimes you may want to intentionally let some weaker creature like Abusive Sergeant or Elven Archer to hit you to set it off.

Consistency notes:

Well, unless all your healing cards are in the end of the deck it is very unlikely, that you will lose with this deck. I actually had no loses at all.

Blacktiger's Blackrock Mountain deck collection:

Provided win rates are approximate. They are based on my tests and so partially depend on how lucky/unlucky I was during my testing. Also keep in mind, that you need a bit of experience with a deck to use it to its full potential. So first attempts usually have lower win rates, than suggested in this list.
