OTK Pally w/ Emperor Post-Nerf -- No Coin Needed For Combo

Here's the deck I was trying before the nerf.  It explains some of the basics of the deck and mulligan ideas.

For this version....I added some card draw.  Harrison Jones wasn't guaranteed draw.  I'm not sure this deck will work -- CRAFT CARDS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

- Harrison Jones, - Righteous Protector, - 2 Doomsayer, +2 Solemn Vigil, + Consec, + Truesilver

Solemn Vigil can be incredible.  Kill some dudes, use Solemn (don't HP by accident), sometimes draw the second Solemn and play him again.  Kill minions, then draw cards in the same turn!! (Eg. Equality + Consec or Pyro + Equality then Solemn, maybe another Solemn.)

My first strategy is to get at least one Pixie in your hand, then play Emperor.  Next turn (if possible) play Uther.  Bounce two different horsemen using Zola and Brewmaster to set up the win.  Then, play Horseman 1, Horseman 2, HP, Pixie (2 mana), HP, game over (10 mana total).  No coin needed.

There are other ways to make the combo work w/o a cheap pixie.  If you can get even one horseman to stick, you can often finish the combo next turn.  (You may need a different one in your hand.)

There are other ways to use Emperor too.  Using Emperor with two pixies or one horseman in your hand is amazing.

I tried Lynessa, but I thought it was too slow and useless w/o finding the buff cards first.   I had overdraw issues w/ her too.  I know that sounds crazy, but it happened too much.  I think you can control this better with Solemn Vigil.

You can win games w/o performing the 4-horseman combo....especially against Aggro and other Combo decks.  It'll be tough to beat a Control deck w/o it though.  Against Aggro, just try to survive.  Maybe keep Consec in your opening hand.  Against Combo....there are two strategies:   Either way, you are on the clock.  Try to get your combo first, or just try to kill him before he gets his done.  Ideally, try to do both at the same time.

Other ideas:  I don't think Wicker is necessary....you could use Tar Creeper or maybe a tech card instead.  Not sure about Truesilver either....just trying it out.  I think the Steeds are necessary.   Maybe Ooze for weapon removal?  Take out one Defender for a Tar Creeper?

I'll post screen shots if I can get a decent winrate.  I'm 50% right now with only 20 games completed - rank 10-8.  I'm open for other ideas, strategies, deck changes.

Update - 5/30

My winrate fell below 50%, so I made the following change:

- Wicker, + Aldor

I think we could use another Aldor or maybe add some Doomsayers?  Not sure about Truesilver either.  I don't think Rats are the answer, but maybe?

I still really don't like Lynessa here.  I think the cards to add/delete are all 1-3 drops except Zola.  I'm keeping him in there.

As Always...Good Luck!!!

Update 6/26:

Winrate - 48%.  Sample Size - 250 games.  I was able to stay at Ranks 8-9.

Over 50% winrate - Warrior, Priest, Hunter (yeah, hunter!)

Exactly 50% winrate - Shaman, Druid, Warlock

Below 50% winrate - Rogue, Paladin, Mage

I recently made the following changes: - Truesilver, - Tarim, + 2 Dirty Rats

I think the rats may be good.  Tarim was underperforming.  I changed my strategy a little.....now I try to keep the coin for later, it can be a sub for Emperor if you can't draw him.  If you have two horsemen in hand: play horseman1, horseman2, HP, Pixie, Coin, HP, gg.

Also, that 2nd Pixie can be awesome....even as a decoy or to get out a second horseman when you may not even need him.  You know your opponent is a little scared every time he sees another horseman appear.

FYI - I recently took another wild list to rank 5.  So my future data will be at higher ranks, though there are a lot of bizarre decks that folks are trying at rank 5....like this one.

Possible changes:  Bring back Tarim!  Add Deathlord or Belcher maybe?
