Come in and Warm your Frozen Boots by the Fire!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gunnolf, and I am originally from the Land Down Under a.k.a. Australia. I am an avid gamer that has acquired a real passion for card games, which originated from my humble beginnings as a Yu-Gi-Oh collector and eventually grew from my dabbling in Cardfight Vanguard and Buddyfight, until we reached the game we know as Hearthstone.

I've played Hearthstone since the days of classic, with multiple accounts on both EU and NA servers. Despite having reached the Rank of Legend and my own personal mentality of equating 'having fun' with 'winning', I am not really a fan of meta power-grinding & net-decking, not that there is anything wrong with that. Therefore, I enjoy thinking about new, cool and fun deck ideas that push boundaries while also allowing you to win and those are what I want to share with you guys every-time I post a decklist.

I have presently become a contributing writer to WILDHS and will be posting articles there on a semi-regular basis, regarding deck-archetypes the status of the meta as well as how to get the most fun out of this game even if you aren't a big spender. If any of this sounds interesting, then I highly recommend that you check out of the website, as the writers and the owner himself are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet with great in-game knowledge (link to be website can be found HERE). You can also follow me on Twitter for latest updates.

If you genuinely like my content and would like to see me produce more of it, then please consider supporting me on Patreon. This is by no means necessary but it will definitely help me out in the long run. Thanks for Reading ^^

Deck Introduction

Yahooooo, time for Warrior to shine. So, like some of my other decks, the concept for this one very much came from a failed experiment. In my efforts to make an OTK Quest Warrior deck, which turned out to be a terribly inconsistent version of regular quest warrior, I decided to apply my findings to Odd Warrior. Thus this deck was born. Please keep in mind that this list is tricky to play. I have done my best to fix what I considered to be weaknesses in the playstyle but even so do keep an open mind. Normally you should shred aggressive decks to pieces but you will encounter problems against mill and greedier control decks. Now please enjoy! ^^

Card Choices Explained

Below you'll find reasoning as to why certain cards were included in the present list.

1) Deathlord: I consider this card to be pretty key in this list. Since we cannot run Dirty Rat, this card allows us to interact with the win-condition of combo decks like Toglewaggle Druid for example.

2) Direhorn Hatchling: Decent taunt that assists us in the quest completion. The deathrattle gives us some nice value for the later stages of the game.

3) Gorehowl: Although replaceable by other cheaper cards, it is definitely key to the playstyle of the deck since it represents multiple instances of removal of which the deck is very short on.

4) Azalina Soulthief: Can potentially be a little hit and miss at times but your hand size is typically very small so you are almost always guaranteed to get more resources from your opponent.

(At the present time, only a few cards have been listed but I will include more if questions pop-up within the comments section regarding substitutions and why other cards were included.)

Win Condition

Your win condition against aggressive decks is very much outlasting their resources, stabilising and recovering your health thanks to tank up. Against control and combo decks however it is a bit trickier. You want to complete your quest typically before turn 10 so that you may get your Ragnaros Hero power online. However, that is not enough as you can run out of steam and value fairly quickly. That's were Azalina Soulthief and Elise the Trailblazer come into play. The value they provide are typically enough to close out control games.

Basic Mulligan Guide & Tips

People will rightly tell you that against aggressive decks you should mulligan the quest. However, in wild this can be tricky to do since, at least outside of Legend, archetype variety among classes is actually very high. So only toss your quest back into the deck if you are 100% certain you know what or who you are playing against.

Similarly, against combo decks keeping Deathlord in your opening hand is 100% warranted since it can very often stop them dead in their tracks and buy you an unprecedented amount of turns to tank up or complete your quest and get your hero power online.

Finally a note of caution. Please be very careful with your removal options. This deck really runs a finite amount of removal so wasting it is a sure fire way for you to lose.

Card Substitutions (F2P)

Here are a few suggestions for replacements for particular cards. This list is non-exhaustive and if you have any questions regarding others cards please do not hesitate to leave a message below.

-2x Direhorn Hatchling | +2x Alley Armorsmith: These changes make the deck a lot more defensive and give you that additional armor for your removal options. A little bit of late-game is lost but nothing too significant.

-1x Azalina Soulthief | +1x Zola the Gorgon: Zola can't necessarily be played on curve but at the same time she is a far more commonly used legendary in control decks and as a result more people may have access to her. In addition, she can provide you with extra taunts or elise packs.

-1x Gorehowl | +1x Arcanite Reaper or +1x Big Game Hunter: Gorehowl is instrumental as a removal option due to the limited amounts included in the deck. However, it can be replaced by other removal options that exist which are either free or more commonly used.

-2x King's Defender | +2x Fiery War Axe: Insert memes here!

(As stated above, for any other card just ask away in the comments section)

Author's Notes

Not an easy deck to play by any means but you sure as hell will have a lot of fun playing it as how you win is very dependent on the match-up. As a result there is no cookie cutter approach so you will be going on a Quest (ahem wink wink ha ha).

I enjoy deck-building a multitude of interesting decks that are both entertaining and Legend viable (with some odd Free-to-Play lists mixed in). So if you like this deck (or anyone of my other ones) consider leaving a thumbs up, as it really helps in the long run! :)

Thank you guys for all your support and if you have any suggestions, let me know.
