Hello my friends!

My name is Fred and I have to confess- I'm not a competetive Hearthstone player. I never felt pressure to even try to reach Legend (the highest that I got was Rank 5 at KotFT release)- I simply prefer to play fun decks over aggro or cubes. It is my 3rd deck posted on this site and I hope that my deck guide will recompensate my lack of rank ^^ I hope that you will give my decks a chance and I hope to hear from you in the comments :)

The Cards

Kingsbane - Well, this one is pretty obvious. This weapon is your win condition and you should do everything possible to buff it.

Cavern Shinyfinder - MVP of the archetype, hands down. Tutor draw card, pretty nice stats (you most likely will force a hero power from your enemy or have a good trade).

Deadly Poison - A cheap weapon buff. You can use it to buff your Kingsbane (double points if you do it after using Valeera the Hollow!) or simply buff your dagger from turn 2 hero power.

Leeching Poison - Your mid/late sustain tool. Allows you to facetank huge minions or simply outvalue your enemy in the face race. A very important card to draw in the aggro/midrange matchups.

Doomerang - The card that everyone memed about when it was announced during Knights of the Frozen Throne turns out to be a great addition to the Kingsbane archetype, allowing you to overpass taunts and receive tons of healing in a single turn.

Naga Corsair - Solid stats, solid effect. Good tempo that further buffs your weapon.

Southsea Squidface - Worse stats, worse tempo, bigger value over time. Still a very good and playable card in the deck.

Captain Greenskin - Hidden gem of the deck. +1 attack is not that big of a deal, but when you add +1 durability to your huge Lifesteal weapon... boy, oh boy, it becomes very nasty very quickly!

Blade Flurry - It died so Kingsbane could be a thing. In this deck it plays the role of a mid game or late game board clear. Works even better if you can redraw the weapon with Cavern Shinyfinder just after the clear.

Coldlight Oracle - Hall of Fame'd draw that can get you to your win condition way quicker than you are supposed to. Provides small ammount of tempo, but allows you to quickly buff your Kingsbane and draw your control cards in order to bounce back into the game.

Elven Minstrel - A great card for drawing your Pirates and Coldlight Oracle. Sometimes it can be a dead draw (most likely in the late game), but you are most likely winning the game when you are getting to the bottom of your deck.

Shadowstep - A great card that found its place in the deck just to bounce back Coldlight Oracle and Elven Minstrel. To my surprise, it sometimes can greatly enhance your performance if bouncing back Captain Greenskin turns out to be a possible play.

Backstab - Cheap removal tool that can also enable combo for your Elven Minstrel. A solid addition to the deck that lets you recover tempo after slower plays (for example turn 1 Kingsbane into turn 2 Leeching Poison)

Preparation - Just one of the best Rogue cards in my opinion. Provides you great flexibility and helps you push huge value turns.

Fan of Knives - Weak boardclear that allows you to draw your deck quicker. Works great with Preparation.

Sap - Great control/stall card. Sometimes it can allow you to hit a top-priority minion (Fandral Staghelm and other threats), sometimes you can just remove a Taunt from the board to hit the enemy's face. I love it.

Vanish - Big boy Sap. Great card to reset the board, also works great with your Battlecry minions (Coldlight Oracle being the MVP). Allows you to completely ignore enemy board in the late game when your weapon is buffed to 10+ attack- you just bounce the board and hit the face.

Valeera the Hollow - Value queen of the deck. But she is a double-edged sword- you get WAY more value in terms of board control and weapon buffs, but you lose the ability to be resistant to Fatigue- you can't use Rogue's basic Hero Power in order to place Kingsbane back into your deck and draw it every turn.

Other cards that I have thought about:

Eviscerate - Great tempo card, but I felt like Backstab is better for this deck just because it allows you to easily activate Elven Minstrel.

Cutthroat Buccaneer - Feels like a worse Naga Corsair to me.

Tinker's Sharpsword Oil - I feel like I'm going to receive tons of hate for not including this card in my deck. I know that it is great with Preparation and that it is very powerful, but in times when you don't have a Preparation that you are willing to use on this card (because sometimes you will want to use it onBlade Flurry or Vanish etc) it becomes very, veeeery bad in my eyes. This archetype isn't Tempo Oil Rogue, but you may try to make it one if you want to.

Tomb Pillager - Great value, great Deathrattle, no synergy with the deck apart from The Coin being another Elven Minstrel activator.

Vilespine Slayer - To my great surprise it was overshadowed by Sap. There are lots of very powerful Deathrattle minions and Sap simply denies them. Vilespine Slayer gets totally rid of them, but your condition is to stall the game as long as possible while buffing your Kingsbane and this card restricts the second part of the condition quite a bit.

Bloodmage Thalnos - Probably a great addition to the deck since it buffs Backstab, Fan of Knives (which becomes a good card after +1 Spell Damage) and Blade Flurry. It also draws you a card, getting you closer to the win conditions. Definetely a card to test in the deck, you just have to find a slot for it.

Deathlord/Gang Up - This deck is not trying to be a mill deck. We stall the game to buff our Kingsbane, we don't force our enemies into the Fatigue.

Goblin Auto-Barber - Naga Corsair's smaller brother. I tried it out and it was okay, but it turns out that 3/2 is way easier to remove than 5/4. You can easily replace Naga Corsair with this card if you want the deck to be a little faster tempo but a little lower value, it is up to you.

Shiv - 2 mana deal 1, draw a card doesn't buy me. I know that it could be buffed by Spell Damage or Preparation, but it just is too weak in my eyes. Even with Valeera the Hollow it seems kind of weird. I mean, it does draw cards and helps you kill things on the board, but it just does the thing in such a weak way.

Mulligan

Instead of fishing for Kingsbane, try to fish for Cavern Shinyfinder. 3/1 can greatly help you against enemy pressure.

Against aggresive decks (Paladin, Hunter and such) try to draw Fan of Knives and Backstab.  They really help you with pushing the aggro out of the game.

Otherwise, always try to get your draw engines (Coldlight Oracle and Elven Minstrel) as the priority. Use Shadowstep to draw even more and pray to Lord for weapon buffs and Leeching Poison.

That's it for now! I surely will play the deck in the upcoming days and will try to find some changes that may make it work even better than it does now.

I would greatly appreciate if you would leave a comment on how you like this deck and drop a +1 if your experience was positive. I try my best to refine the decklists before posting the decks and I love describing the card interactions and how they are supposed to works for the deck, but getting zero community responce is just heartbreaking.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this deck as much as I do! Let the fun and the luck be with you! :)
