// NEW VERSION HERE 06/29/2018 //
Few modifications to improve Fun & WR =D
Hello there !
I'd like to present you my version of battlecry shaman.
I'm using it to climb legend this month and, for now (rank 9 * to 3 *), I'm pretty happy with the versatility it has.
(Rank 3 and still 80%+ WR)
This is not an OTK Combo centric, but more like an hybrid between a Mid/Control and a potential Combo.
You will oftenly get the board with Early Minions/Buffs/Heals :
But you also have an insane late game with Hagatha the Witch and Shudderwock.
The only really intense matchups are full-face decks like Tempo-Mage and Odd-Hunt because they can deny the board and just finish you with spells and hero power. (But still winable if you have a good board or find your heals)
I'll write a full guide as I did for Temporus Priest if people looks to enjoy it.
Just a few advices :
- Take your time once you have played Hagatha the Witch, you don't want to miss an opportunity or discard important elements of your deck.
- If you have a bad time with a full-face decks and wait for your Kalimos, Primal Lord 12 Heal, try to play an elemental every turn, as you can play him right on the turn you top-deck the card. This mean that you have to delay your wish to spam the board.
- Play with a tracker to know precisely what Shudderwock have in stock.
Enjoy ! =)
Edit 05/10 : I switch Harrison for Tol'vir Stoneshaper and it makes early Shudderwock really good against aggro and quest Rogue. (WIth 10 more games against various matchups the Winrate didnt fell down.)
Hoy!
Indeed Blacknight was here to deal with Taunt druid and Walrock of the ancient meta. So I totaly agree that.
Zola = versatility, and I love versatility ^^
Lifedrinker x2 isnt mandatory but let you more chance to get it earlier if want to do your combo.
Fungal x1 was really good against paladin, but now it can be replaced yeah.
You can take board control easily with this deck so you don't want doomsayer to erase it. (Control card)
Fire plume harbinger is better in a control version (and two is too much)
2 murmuring elemental is too much
Tar creeper is excellent
Hemet is ok for a control version
To summ up your changes : You want to play an Control/FullCombo Version. And that wasnt my plan for this deck ^^
Yeah, you point the main problem of this deck => Manage Overdraw and Overvalue.
For my first 40 games, I juste manage this by canceling some value willingly.
(Keeping Hagatha in my hand all the game, waiting to play Servant of Kalimos without the Battlecry while I could play it with etc.
I just realize that this value (Hagatha, Servant,..) is :
33% of the time a bless that permit you to win (Second Kalimos at the good timing, Mage elemental that permit you to get armor, etc.)
33% of the time it's just ok and you fill your curve with
33% this is just a mess, and you have to suicide minions, use spells for nothing, etc.
After trying some cuts, I think this : if we are playing Hagatha the Witch, we don't play Grumble, Worldshaker and vice versa.
I've 4 versions of my decks currently (from Mid to Combo), and I'm still trying to find wich one is the best to face the rank 3 to Legend Meta.
Just keep this line :
- Hagatha means second breath for a Mid deck while you are waiting the good moment for Shudderwock. (Keep value: Fire fly, Servant, etc.)
- Grumble means gamebreaker infinite Shudderwock for a control deck (Cut value: add card like Mossy Horror,
Tar Creeper, etc.)
So, yes the deck as it appears here is the quantic (greedy) one. It works really well to climb in winstrike against a non precise meta. But at the moment you start to face a very precise meta (rank 3 / 2 / 1) this is a better solution to split the deck into 2 versions.
Globaly, Warlock=>Grumble | Rogue/Paldadin=>Hagatha.
I'll try to find and keep a versatil version here, because the most part of players are not rank 3/2/1, but still a version that can carried to Legend. (I recently tried to create a competitive Tess Rogue and lose 2 rank that I just reclimb with my Shaman Yells, so it is definitely solid, just need to fix the best(s?) versions)
Thank you for the test of my deck and for your feedback.
I have won most of Even paladin but yeah, Rogues are really technical to deal with, but I'm other 50% WR against them (maybe I was lucky ^^).
Keep in mind that you always have to tweek decks in HS, it depends of the Meta you face at your rank. Tar Creeper and Gluttonous Ooze [/card] should replace [card]Servant of Kalimos and The Black Knight if you are facing them a lot.
(And the deck is quite hard to play. It requires many games to be mastered)
Cheers
I replaced him with another Servant of Kalimos. Works pretty well, I feel the extra elemental helps a lot. Plus more chance to get a Grumble, Worldshaker or Kalimos, Primal Lord. Happend for me a couple times already!
The Black Knight is a tech card I used because every tier 1 decks have solid taunts, and because of his great synergy with Shudderwock. As you can't find similar mechanic in hearthstone, try to replace it with a card that counter the most of matchups you face at your rank.
Maybe another weapon breaker like Gluttonous Ooze if you face many Paladins and Hunt.
Or if you just want a quick answer to The Lich King and Primordial Drake you can test Crushing Hand.
The Black Knight is an answer, so you should replace it with another answer.
Any good replacement for Zola?
The main purpose of zola is to copy Shudderwock during the combo (that permit to play Shudderwock again even if you haven't play Grumble, Worldshaker yet, OR, to copy answer to manage threats, all of that, without losing your board presence.
If you want to keep the mechanic, you can find a replacement with Baleful Banker which permit you to play it again later without losing your board. This can be great against control but to slow against aggro/tempo/mid.
The other solution, is just to use a Tar Creeper, it will make your aggro matchups easier, and also give you more sustain to find Grumble, Worldshaker in your games.
84%?! I mean I suck but even I gotta be able to get good results, right?!
Anyway, looks fun man thanks for sharing!
Quick update: It's Quest Rogue day apparently. RIP
Update 2: 10 games, 2-8. Had 1 nice game, too bad
*Update 3: Played this more today. Getting the hang of it. This is what I found so far:
First off, super fun deck! Once you get all the pieces you can get some sick value and combos!
Like Rhythm pointed out; full face decks are a bit of a pain. It depends on my opening hand if I have a chance most of the time when playing vs aggro. Vs control type decks I useally have a field day because you have enough time to set up a stacked Shudderwock, including Kalimos, Primal Lord and the rest of your battlecries. Opponent still not dead? Hagatha the Witch often has an answer.
Yeah my WR is really high, and I think it will decay when I'll reach rank 1, but for now, it still rocks.
As I didnt wrote the guide yet, I think it's normal that you don't handle it correctly (especially vs Rogue quest, because you have specific thing to do).
Tell me what you struggle with and I'll try to guide you and adapt the deck for you ;)
Yea I was just unlucky with the matchups most of the time I feel. Got a lot of Tempo mages, Quest rogues and Paladins.
As you said, I'm still learning and I will definitely keep playing it!
The deck itself is very fun; when you can get a combo in it's really strong too! Looking forward to a guide for your insights.
Cheers!
Hey man....really fun deck....love it.
Is it possible to write a guide please?
Grtzzzzz and thx
Hello! Glad you enjoy the deck!
I was really busy those times, but I think I can find few hours to write it this week.
No probs...i understand….. we have a live besides Hearthstone :-)
I'll be waiting ;-)
