Master Swordsmith - good at contesting early paladin boards, good at buffing minions in other matchups.
Juggler - another staple of token decks, can be weak if dropped on 2 though.
Dark Iron - You can almost always hit his battlecry. He's my current favourite of the potential buff minions on 4.
Mad Hatter - Saw the idea here and tried it out. It seemed really good. Only 1 game I didn't manage to get all 3 buffs landing on my minions. Quite possibly should run two.
Argus - Only put in for the last few games, feel I should test it out but I'm not too optimistic. Needing 2 minions to stick is a bigger requirement and payoff isn't much better than the other 4s.
Hagatha/Hex - A bit of an identity crisis in the deck. They have anti-synergy with the token plan. I did win a few games from the plan B of just outvaluing the opponent with Hagatha though(even a cubelock!)
Lich King - has a high winrate on hsreplay and I was never really disappointed with him.
2018-05-01 Changes
- -1 Defender of Argus +1 The Runespear
- -1 Hex +1 Zap!
Runespear is almost always useless with this, but it does lead to some fun craziness
It's a shame because that weapon could maybe sorta kinda be viable if it wasn't one of the most poorly cost cards in the history of Hearthstone.
garbage
Thanks for the constructive feedback.
Welp, I hit legend with this deck, from r5. Thank you so much! First time legend =)
The subs I made were -1 Hex, +1 Runespear -beware the Runespear, I've had it royally f me with RNG
-Defender of Argus, +Zap as recommended by Tommy
Amazing! I'll actual try those changes and update this to reflect it. I've been playing a lot of solo recently so haven't tested the deck as much as I'd like.
I added the Runespear to my deck and got off a bloodlust with it. It was glorious.
This deck is bushels of stupid fun. I'm running a few alterations (definitely think card]zap[/card] should be included, and I enjoy my axe for early tempo) but it plays like an old school zoo/swarm deck.
Murkspark Eel is the most slept on card right now. Compare it to the neutral Fire Plume Phoenix. Same effect, same body -1 attack, half the mana. Is there a better 2 drop for board control right now?
Even Totem seems trash on paper, but you flood the board quick and then support it with the wonderful swarm package from vanilla.
Strangely, Cult Master becomes a champ in this deck. Shaman doesn't have much draw, and with the even-constraint its a must. I can usually net 3 cards on average, which makes some amazing value for a 4-drop. The enemy will hit you with board clear 2-3 times, and you'll need the gas.
The deck is fun; curious to know if you updated it at all.
I haven't yet but will indicate any changes I make.
Thanks,
