Spell Hell

I have come up with at new type of Rogue deck, which is never seen before, because the missing pieces came with the Witchwood expansion. It is the best Rogue deck in current meta AND it can deal with basically all classes.

The deal is 5 x 2 cost (Spell Damage +1) minions. This means you almost allways will have spell damage +1 or even Spell Damage +2. This of course works very well with all the spells in the deck. Sometimes you use the spells to clear your opponents board, other times you use them to finish off your opponent.

Guide

(Added 20-04-2018)

General:

  • Dont be afraid to play your spell damage +1 minions, you will soon draw more.
  • In long lasting games your go to is Valeera the Hollow. Try to gain value by playing the same minion twice (especially Fal'dorei Strider), but most important use double Eviscerate and/or Sinister Strike (and spell damage +1) to finish off your opponent.
  • An early 4/1 Spellshifter is often a good play (for pressure and early damage to face).
  • Spells are often best used on their minions to get board control.
  • Your minions is often used for damage to face.

vs Warlock:

Mulligan:  Sap. If you have sap keep Razorpetal Lasher and Edwin VanCleef (on coin).

  • vs Cubelock: Play as many minions early as possible as you only have 5-6 turns before taunt will keep them from face. Every attack goes face. Try to Sap Voidlord to get some extra damage to face before it is too late. When it is impossible to get through you need to use spells to face to finish them off(If possible after Valeera the Hollow is played). Try to save at least one (at best two) Eviscerate for the final blow.
  • vs Zoo Warlock: Try your best to use spells to kill their minions, and use your minions to go face.
  • vs Even Warlock: Spells on minions, your minions go face (if possible), early Fal'dorei Strider. Vilespine Slayer (or spells) for Mountain Giant or The Lich King(or Sap).

 vs Priest:

Mulligan: Sap, Fal'dorei Strider, Razorpetal Lasher.

  • vs Mind Blast Priest: Again, try your best to use spells to kill their minions, and use your minions to go face, before they clear the board. Early Fal'dorei Strider(s) is good.
  • vs Spiteful Priest: Actually pretty much the same tactic as vs Mind Blast. Sap and Vilespine Slayer for their big minions.

 vs Rogue:

Mulligan: Fal'dorei Strider, Razorpetal Lasher, Eviscerate, Fan of Knives.

  • vs Quest Rogue: I have only played against one Quest Rogue, but go for an early ending and make sure to kill the minions they use for their quest.
  • vs Miracle Rogue: Same as always: Spells on minions, your minions go face, early Fal'dorei Strider. Eviscerate is for Hench-Clan Thug.
  • vs Tempo Rogue: Try to go for an early ending + spells on minions, your minions go face.

 vs Shaman:

Mulligan: Cheap Shot, Fan of Knives, Razorpetal Lasher, Fal'dorei Strider.

  • vs Shudderwock Shaman: This matchup will probably end mid game somewhere, before Shudderwock is played. This means that you have time to get out some Fal'dorei Striders. Same tactic as always: Spells on minions, your minions go face. They will play Doomsayer and Volcano, but just make sure your minions hit face before they die. IF possible try to save Eviscerate for lethal.

 vs Warrior:

Mulligan: Sap, Fal'dorei Strider, Cheap Shot.

  • vs Quest Warrior: Same as always: Spells on minions, your minions go face, early Fal'dorei Strider. Sap and Cheap Shot are good to remove their taunts, so your minions can attack face. Vilespine Slayer is best used on Primordial Drake or The Lich King.

 vs Hunter:

Mulligan: Tar Creeper, Rotten Applebaum, Cheap Shot.

  • vs Odd Face Hunter: Mulligan for taunts i crucial. The strategy is to go all face and let your taunts take care of their minions. As soon as you start trading too much, it will be a loss. So make sure to get some damage to their face, because if they need to start attacking your minions with theirs, they have lost.
  • vs Spell Hunter: This will be a longer game. Try to get board control = spells on minions. The most important thing is the make sure to have a way to kill the 3/3 wolves from Lesser Emerald Spellstone. This is best done with Cheap Shot + Spell Damage +1, Fan of Knives + 2 x Spell Damage +1. Eviscerate or Sap is best used on Animal Companions.

 vs Paladin:

Mulligan: Cheap Shot, Fan of Knives, Tar Creeper, Rotten Applebaum.

  • vs Even Paladin: This is an okay matchup. Always try to cleay their site on the board, while you slowly get more and more minions on your site. Cheap Shot(good for buffed 3/3 minions) and Fan of Knives are good board clears, but try to use other methods to clear their board in the early game. Hero power is your friend. If you dont draw taunt, try to play an Elven Minstrel. Remember to watch out for Consecration. Sap is best used on Spikeridged Steed buffed minions. Both Sap and Vilespine Slayer are good on Blessing of Kings buffed minions.
  • vs Odd Paladin: A more difficult matchup. Same strategy as vs Even Paladin, but more minions to clear. Sap all buffed minions right away if possible. Vilespine Slayer is good on Stormwind Champion.

 vs Mage:

Mulligan: Cheap Shot, Fan of Knives.

  • vs Big Spell Mage: This will be a longer game, so play your curve. Hope for Valeera the Hollow, and get as much value out of it as possible. Make sure to save (at least) one Fal'dorei Strider for after Valeera the Hollow. BUT try to end it before they play Dragoncaller Alanna. Dont be afraid to use Sinister Strike before they play Skulking Geist.
  • vs Tempo mage: Cheap Shot and Fan of Knives (both with spell damage +1(or 2)) are life savers, so try to save your spell damage +1 minions for this board clear. Do whatever you can to try and stay above 10 HP.

 vs Druid:

Mulligan: Sap, Fan of Knives, Cheap Shot.

  • vs Cube Taunt Druid: You need to get as much damage to their face before it is too late and they play Hadronox. The way to do this is to play as many minions as possible from the start, and kill their early taunts with your spells. Sap is okay to use if it is needed for your minions to damage face. Try to play (one or two) Fal'dorei Strider early. If the board is lost use spells to finish the job.
  • vs Spiteful Druid: Pretty much the same as against Cube Taunt Druid. Damage to face, use spells to kill their minions (Try not to use your minions to kill theirs, let them trade). Save Sap and Vilespine Slayer for big minions.
