I have been doing great with this deck so far (71% winrate) from rank 9 to 5 (just hit it few minutes ago). To be honest hasn't encounter too many shamans (very odd), and the ones i did were really bad and misplay the combo.
I thought cutthroat buccaneer was shit, but actually has been doing great (u need to maximize your weapon buffs trough shadowstep, valeera, and vanish when you can)
I'm not going to lie is hard deck to pilot but for me that makes it a lot better cause you have to actually think about your plays every turn.
Good luck guys, hope you can enjoy this deck as much as i do.
Edit: i have changed a few things since i feel the meta is getting faster and sometimes it feels that you have only combo cards but no activators (i tried backstabs but doesn't feel that good tbh, i need more testing tho), thus:
- 1 Vanish
-1 Greenskin
+2 Fal'dorei Strider

If you dont get Leeching Poison in the first few turns against aggro decks...you're done.
Made an account just to upvote this deck. It's so fun to play even though its from the previous expansion. I've added 1Doomsayer instead of Doomerang and it works wonders against odd-paly.
Thank you!!! to be honest i posted this deck 2nd day of the exp cause everybody was playing other decks and i think this is really fun and satisfying to win with. Every match for me is lasting 10 min or so, but you need to think to win with this deck, that is what i like the most, not like other decks that you just drop your cards and hit face.
I have been thinking about remove greenskin, to add a strider or maybe two (don't know yet which card would be the 2nd one i remove). However, i don't have too much time to play these days, but so far i'm winning most of my games like 70% wr.
Hope your change improves the deck.
Doomsayer definitely improved aggro matchups, and is a bit useful against other decks sometimes. What i noticed is that a Preparation would really be welcome in this deck, so i replaced one Sprint cause i think Preparation gives more flexibility, and i can say it works well for now.
I've considered adding a Fal'dorei Strider, but the deck seems fine for now. Of course, a big advantage is that people are thinking you are playing tempo rogue, so they mulligan against tempo, which is quite nice.
I 100% agree that this decks is full of decision making, and that is quite satisfying.
Edit: Currently 11-5 on from rank 5 to 3 with this deck.
Am i the only one dying by turn 5 if you dont mulligan perfect? or even pull the cards you NEED right away? I have never played a deck that gave me a 0-5 start. I guess I'm piloting this deck like shit.
Were you against aggro decks the 5 times? Baku pala or Even pala could be hard, it depends wether u get your weapon and leeching poison quick enough, once i get to turn 5 and get at least 3+ weapon w leeching i feel you can't lose. If you get to Valeera is really difficult to lose (that's how i feel). I'm not a pro or anything i just feel like is a strong deck but is hard to pilot, sometimes you need to use a vanish or a sap just to stop incoming damage and give you that 1 more turn to upgrade your weapon and heal for more. Play it like a control deck not an aggro deck (prioritize kill their minions than going face with your weapon) i usually win in the late game.
I saw Kolento running a similar list, he cut shadowstep, vilespine and flurry i think, and add backstabs and striders for more value. I'm sorry the deck is not working for you, i'm still 71% winrate with it but i haven't had time to play too much these days (work -.-)
I have been getting more success with this deck. I have to make hard choices at times to stay alive. One example is just daggering up and using poison to clear a minion. Yes, once my weapon gets at 3 with leech, it seems almost inevitable they will die regardless of how many taunts get put in my way. Highest I got my weapon was up to 17, I was just clearing tokens left and right. PILOTING is the key here. I have to think! Net decking can cause me to be lazy and not take the time to understand the deck. I slowed down and studied this a little more.
That sounds great!!! I'm playing right now faced 3 aggro decks lost to all of them (there seems to be a lot more aggro decks now odd pala, aggro rogue, anything aggro ( keleseth) ) is a hard match up to be honest, u really depend on leeching. Then is there is anything different than aggro i beat them 100% all the time, the late game is really strong for this deck, once u have a leeching poison 3+ weapon and not dead on board u almost win 100% all the time from there.
You are right is all about thinking 2 or 3 turns ahead to win. Glad to hear u are doing better now with it.
Just the best deck i played
I am meeting only aggro... getting shredded by Baku and those dupes and arrows
P.S. As soon as I get to the elemental mage, all I get is shamans. Dat matchmaking
Here my take on your deck after a few play throughs. I don't have Greenskin but my main problem was clearing the board of taunts so I can hit face with Kingsbane. I'm hoping the Strikers will put some board pressure and clear out taunts as needed.
vs aggro is very important to keep leeching poison. As you know vs aggro you need to control board asap (sap, vanish, and doomerang can help you with that and also to buy you a few more turns) if they don't beat you in the first 6 turns you beat them all the time. Don't be afraid of use sap to stop incoming damage to your face (specially against match ups where you know there isn't a primary target for sap).
Dude paladin can be hard, you need to mull for FoK and use it wisely, vanish can be very helpful in this match up too. Tarim turn is pretty hard is they developed a good board of 1/1s and you don't have an answer for it.
I'm doing good against aggro, i want a little more test agains shudderwock shaman tho.
Love this deck, could be refined a bit I think.
Cut one doomerang for Sonya to squeeze that extra minion value
Edit: 4th game in, I got my weapon to 15 attack (against quest warrior) and won. Im actually impressed :D
I had the same feeling as you at first, i thought the weapon couldn't get that high now, but i was wrong, if u utilize ur tools correctly u can get a really good weapon buff. Great that you like it!
Cheers,
