With the Year of Mammoth rotated out we lost many key cards for tempo mage. Namely Kabal Crystal Runner, Firelands Portal, Kabal Lackey, and Medivh's Valet.
However we gained an extremely strongk card Vex Crow
And only that card from the new expansion made the cut for my particular list.
You can add Primordial Glyph, Aluneth, Archmage Antonidas, Pyroblast if you have them.
Khristophesaurus was kind to make a video on the deck. Go check it out!
It's been 8 tries, still no win.
If you are like me and want a deck to get quest wins for Mage, I recommend searching elsewhere.
EDIT: I just faced this decklist in casual mode. I was using a 30 random Rogue card deck for a quest. I decimated it.
it's not even working on rank 20... thrash deck
its okay at best. Main problem with it is that there is no board clear.
I decided to swap out one 1 of my Arcane Missiles for a lone Cinderstorm and found it to be a nice upgrade to deal with Paladin decks and just gives slightly more reach while dealing with any 3 health minions.
Thanks for your feedback!
I agree with you that the deck is not strong enough to climb high, especially for this meta (So many paladins!). But I disagree with your opinion on Vex Crow.
Yes you could get doomsayer, but it is only a 1/101 chance for that. I myself have never gotten it. Yes you could get Lorewalker Cho but.. it's actually not as bad as you might think. Your opponent tend to be SUPER confused and often kills it for you; after giving you a couple of useful spells.
Vex Crow is mostly used, along with a couple of cheap spells, to refill your board after your opponent clears anyways, so you don't necessarily destroy your win.
Just my opinion~
I got a Doomsayer last night and had 4 other minions on the board on my side to my opponent's 2 minions that were facing 3 of my taunts. :(
Sometimes the Crow pulls some really good 2 mana minions. The fact that it can create bodies often, especially if you have taunt minions on the board, just helps the aggro more than it hurts.
Hi can someone exlplain how to use this deck, am bad
arcanologist + (or) mana wyrm . kirin tor mage + any secret (depends who is your opponent)
I don't know how you guys are playing, but this thing can't get me out of Rank 19. One step forward, another step back. And believe me, I'm not a rank n00b - I've been at this game for 4 years. 25 games gave me 12 wins and 13 losses.
Either I'm doing something very wrong, or it just doesn't work, especially when you're up against nothing but Echo Rogues and Dragon Priests.
add Anulth and get more cards in your hands, it works
C-Notes are not the problem here.
I am just unsure how you've played that long, not bought any packs, with gold or money, and still manage to be playing budget decks.
Just by doing dailies, you can easily get a card pack every two days... And thats over 730 packs. So....
Any expensive cards you can add to this deck to make it more powerful and take it out of the budget category?
aluneth and pyroblast
What should I take out for them I see they work
I've been looking at some of the higher rank/meta decks to compare what I'm crafting for budget decks (to make sure that I can use them later on as well) and the Secret Tempo Mage deck is very similar; you should check it out.
Disguised Toast's standard version and there are more pro decks on his site that are variations (that I think I like better actually).
