Have you ever wanted to slowly drain the moral of your opponent and eventually let them die alone in fatigue? If you said yes (which why the hell would you not want to do that, unless time reasons), then this deck is for you.
With the addition of Forest Guide and Ferocious Howl and the help of some wild symmetrical card draw such as Coldlight Oracle and Grove Tender, mill druid is now able to slowly draw your opponents deck until they die a slow and painful deck in fatigue while you stay safe with the help of everybody's favorite Jade card, Jade Idol.
With the advent of Mecha'thun I thought it would be fun to try and get a more reliable win condition. Now instead of one the Jade Idol and one Wrath, we have a Mecha'thun. The deck works the same way but instead of having to rely on Jade Idols to finish people off, now just play Mecha'thun then Innervate and Naturalize after you've drawn everything and emptied your hand. Not sure if anything else really needs to be changed, but I'll update the list once I find out. Edit: On this plan I took out Ultimate Infestation for a Biology Project because it gets stuck too much in hand.
Forest Guide is without a doubt my favorite card in the expansion so far. Not only does it look defenseless, being a 1/6, but it's also a huge powerhouse in terms of mill. Sure it lets your opponents play their card first, but it doesn't matter as long as his hand is flooded to oblivion. If your opponent kills Forest Guide the turn it is played (which is often not the case for the first one played), you are still able to force your opponent to draw 12 cards, giving you plenty of burst to annihilate your foe in fatigue.
Another important card in the deck is Ferocious Howl. In this deck, this card is able to consistently get 7-8 armor. This lets you stabilize/be more aggressive with your hero, while also cycling cards to get to your draw.
With the current list, you can either go the Jade route of just creating a lot of Jade Golems or you can go the Mecha'thun deck and otk your opponent. The deck probably would do better but it plays around Demonic project and other combo disruption.
Substitutes
If you want to replace Mecha'thun, you can go back to the previous version of this deck by cutting Innervate and put in 1 Jade Idol and one Wrath in it's place. Also take out Biology Project and replace it with Ultimate Infestation if possible.
If you want to replace Malfurion the Pestilent, another Acidic Swamp Ooze. Sadly there is no great cut for this card simply because it does so much.
Final Verdict
I'm not a great player, especially in wild. As such, I'm not the highest rank (mainly because I don't play it, but nevertheless) and so you might have the deck not work at all in higher ranks. However, the deck should still be able to demoralize most forms of warlock. A true mill player doesn't play to win, they play to make the opponent feel worse then them.
I don't quite understand why you chose Galvanizer instead of Innervate (?)
Because I forgot about Innervate lmao. I'll change the list, thanks for the reminder.
Deathlord I should probably include UI is there simply because it makes the fatigue jade train a bit faster and if you don't draw into your card draw, you are absolutely fucked and UI helps prevent that, and no Branching Paths because I don't have it and don't have the dust to make it, same with Brann. Xc
As for no Dirty Rat, while I love the card to death, this deck often struggles to burn cards as while it's possible to draw 12 cards for your opponent, it can't be done all at once (atleast without Brann). Dirty Rat, while adding a lot of disruption, doesn't really fit well with this. I'm going to try it though with an updated list.
From my experience, Ferocious Howl is pretty much just a cheaper version of Branching Paths that always does armor (and that it gets a bit more of) and draw a card. I can see why having them would be good in the deck as Ferocious Howl is one of the stronger non-mill cards in the deck, I just don't have the dust as of now to try it out.
UI is neccesary for the late-fatigue push. Taking out your opponents last big minion, getting 5 armor, and drawing 5 jade idols is 9 times out of 10 an automatic win.
Me like this.
Me upvote.
This deck isnt great ranking wise.
That being said, its SO.MUCH.FUN. 10/10 Everyone should try this out.
Yeah if you actually want to win consistently, go play an actual deck since the main goal is not to win, but to demoralize your opponent. It also completely shuts down any form of control lists and can do pretty well against Shudderwock decks too if they play it greedy. If I were to track my winrate, it would probably be around 55%, but again, it's at a low rank so it would probably be a bit lower in a higher rank.
i actually had an opponent play shudderwock in fatigue, and i barely held on. Only deck this CONSISTENTLY loses to, is any druid that runs jade idol. Everything else losses juice by fatigue time.
Yeah Jade Druid is one a difficult match up because you NEED to burn Jade Idol if you want any chance of winning. The issue is that we can't really put in Skulking Geist as that deletes are chances of winning too, leaving us only 1 option for keeping the game plan, which is Astral Tiger, which I can't see working at all just because of how slow the card is and the fact we have nothing that to actually duplicate it. If I can think of some way to get around this, I'll definitely add it to the deck, but as of now the match up is just luck dependent.
