The dream:
1. Play Lifedrinker any time.
2. Play Saronite Chain Gang any time.
3. Play Grumble, Worldshaker anytime.
4. Shudderwock. Very likely it will return a copy of itself to your hand and cost (1). (In control matchups where you really need the consistency, play Murmuring Elemental and Grumble, Worldshaker at some point together to gain a 1-mana Murmuring Elemental and double the battlecry of Shudderwock)
5. Play it several times
6. After a long film (Now shorter LOL), you win the game.
Hidden insane combos:
Wild Pyromancer + X+ Healing Rain + X for board clear and heal. Acolyte of Pain can also be involved for additional cycle.
Acolyte of Pain + Volcano draw 3 cards and clear the board.
Bogshaper + low cost spells (especially Unstable Evolution) for quick cycle.
Edit April 11:
Get more practical and less greedy. Remove many cards that are bad tempo-wise and add elemental defensive package to help secure the early game, when your combos are too expensive to be played. After the change, the deck works more like a midrange deck rather than control. The play style and game plan is a little bit like Miracle Rogue: play your mid-game transition cards - cycle via Bogshaper - win with Shudderwock. Don't be too greedy on Unstable Evolution, even if you just have 2-3 spare mana and a Novice Engineer, start the craze!
Edit April 12:
Tried a few games, found Hagatha the Witch to be super powerful, and can outvalue opponent even without Shudderwock. In reality, the OTK almost never happens. Most matchup is about stablizating the board. Fire Plume Harbinger is a little useless, so I currently run one copy of it for its synergy with Bogshaper and the potential dream OTK, but it may move in and out of the list as the list optimize. Added a Healing Rain to help stablize.
Edit April 27: After people's various experiment, I believe this current version is nearly the optimal Bogshaper build. Wild Pyromancer is a great replacement for Maelstrom Portal, giving much better performance than Lightning Storm at least in any Bogshaper build (In builds that use Far Sights instead of Bogshaper and cheap spells I would still recommend double Lightning Storm). If aggressive decks dominate in your local meta, cut Bogshaper to 1 for a Frost Shock.
I am running a quit similar version, but replaced 2xTol'vir Stoneshaper with 1xBlazing Invocation and 1xBaleful Banker. Though Blazing Invocation could also be replaced by Hot Spring Guardian for more survival.
-2 Novice Engineer +2 Loot Hoarder
Novice is literally killing you at the end of the game.
You are right, but the tradeoff being its potential to combo with Murmuring Elemental in earlier turns to find cards that you desperately need, and it being a nice target for Unstable Evolution to compensate for the tempo loss of card draw. Right now I consider those to be more important than fatigue and milling your hand. But I will have to test that for sure.
Zola the Gorgon will mill your hand with 9 cost Shudderwock, and make you not able to do the OTK.
Also, a lot of battlecry million would draw you a card, so they would disrupt your OTK like Zola does. Blazing Invocation is useless in most of the time.
Thanks for the feedback! Zola the Gorgon allows you to play Shudderwock safely in cases you haven't drawn Grumble, Worldshaker. Even if you have, you shouldn't hesitate playing Zola the Gorgon or Sandbinder and worry about milling yourself, as most games is won by playing Shudderwock 3 or 4 times at most, especially if you have played an Murmuring Elemental.
You are right that Invocation might be useless in most cases, but I just want to try it out for fun at the point of releasing. For better tempo, I may eventually replace them with Lightning Bolts.
I don't think you need that much Lifedrinkers, and if you do it's always better to put it in your hand than in your deck, isn't it?
I've made a similar deck that plans to achieve the same goal, but with a different approach regarding card draw. Yours with bogshaper and cheap spells seems really fun and quite promising actually. I will test this one too for sure ! I will showcase your deck on my page to tell of a different build :) Here's mine
I think your deck is great! It may actually be more consistent than Bogshaper as drawing engine. I put in Blazing Invocation for dream to discover another Shudderwock, as class cards appears more often in discover.
Also, thanks for mentioning my deck in your deck page!
The main issue I see, is that Zap! takes a deck slot and we'll need to see if it isn't overkill.
And for blaz...Oh yeah !! I was going to say, you don't need Blazing Invocation cause you don't need another shudderwock, when you'll create several each turn, but in fact it is another way to get it more quickly, and that is very interesting ! Man your deck seems great to me in fact.
The only donwside I see is you can only start fetching for your combo cards in late game and, you don't have any non minion specific card draw which makes it difficult to get those board clears. Haha, i'm so impatient to see how it will turn out !
Yes, Zap! may indeed be an overkill, but like you said, we don't know until we try it out!
The order of battlecries will most likely be chosen randomly (as it is with Lynessa and order of spells cast) so this isn't guaranteed to work.
Thanks for letting me know! This issue can be fixed by double its battlecry, as I updated. But it's going to be less likely to pull the entire combo out though.
Effects are on random order, not sure what will happen if it returns in hand before using the others
Thanks and True! Just updated my deck to avoid rng order.
I am gonna craft the deck the very first day! Expect a few revisions for better stall.
