Nana here to showcase his anti-aggro deck. This is not the first time I've tried to make taunt druid work. The other time I did I got to top 200 legend with it quite easily. proof
Just coached my brother to legend with this updated list. He got there with a 61% winrate. So if you are struggling to get there this final week this is the deck to go for :) hf
Let me show you how this would work:
Core cards;
I'm sure you can see the synergies without me pointing them out.
Here's a simple mulligan
Note: Don't keep Master Oakheart unless you have the needed ramp in your mulligan phase
A little in-depth mulligan against aggro or control decks, these are of the highest priority
Against Control: Keep, Master Oakheart, Nourish, Oaken Summons and Wild Growth
Against Aggro: Keep, Lesser Jasper Spellstone, Oaken Summons, Wrath, Swipe and Wild Growth
Gameplan;
Ramp up quickly with Wild Growth and Nourish, get your taunts out there and whittle your opponent down.
Later in the game look for combos like;
Hadronox now summons;
Tips Section
Against Aggro, ramp as quickly as possible and put your taunts down.
You can Drop your Hadronox into a Doomsayer if you have enough dead Taunts to deny your opponent setup time
Hadronox + Naturalize is going to win you a lot of games, you should not throw your Hadronox into a silence because you're impatient. Also don't waste your Naturalize every time you need something to disappear, you have a lot of armor for a reason
Branching Paths can give you a lethal you might not realize afterHadronox Vomits
You can put Hadronox down without naturalize if you're playing against a non-mage/non-shaman deck and cube it later. If they silence and kill it just play your Witching Hour and Cube that
That's all for now
Leave your suggestions/thoughts/questions in the comments below. Thanks
It can work, take out a Ferocious Howl for it
I have a little problem whit that Tar Creeper is not so good specialty late game. Can help me here what 2 card to put in that place ? Maybe Master Oakheart , + taunt , Branching Paths or Savage Roar but i thing is good some minion,so can you help me here ?
that is mostly for warlock and the same build druid. Hunter and paladin easy to take them down if you hold 6 round after that you win they dont have any cards and you have. vs mage i have 50% winrate. is just hard to find Hadronox and make your combo.
Tar Creeper isn't good late game, but it's very good against aggro pallys - it's depends on what meta you are encountering. NanaKwame's current version of this deck is optimized for later rank control/spiteful matchups
58% winrate against them
The deck can activate hadronox 3 times guaranteed, safe to say thats enough taunts to win
after a 42 minutes match yesterday vs a legend guy using this deck on the ladder and stalling my brain off i decided to come here to give it a like.
For istance i managed to beat him silencing his second handronox. But jesus christ it was a such a damn pain that i wont ever do again a match like that.
Congrats for building it. I mean,seriously, it hits really hard the aggro meta.
Been playing a similar list and took it to rank 5 today. Few things:
a) I would remove the Tar Creepers, since they are terrible to resummon from Hadronox, whereas with only Ironwoods as early taunt you have a better chance to beat cubelocks.
b) I'm considering dropping UI entirely since I only ever ended up using it about 20% of the time.
c) Branching Paths feels WAY too good to only run once. Can easily set up lethal against Control deck that might otherwise grind you out into fatigue
d) Malfurion DK is absolutely playable in this deck, the key is just not playing him before using both Witching Hours or just playing him on a full board. I would have dropped him if he didn't allow me to win multiple games against Cubelocks and it also activates Ironbarks when you're out of armor later in the game.
Other considerations are including Fatespinner to have a better shot against Odd Paladin once they play the Level Up. I also thought about adding Umbra to add another way to proc hadronox from Witching Hour, although that would make Oaken Summons less reliable.
I also never used LIch King. Is he even that good. I always assumed too many Lich Kings would just end up clogigng my hand with Doom PActs and Army of the Dead (although Anti-Magic shells anddd Deatha and Decay could be really sweet)
Sorry no, it dilutes both Hadronox and Witching Hour Pools. You can add a second Branching Paths though in exchange for a Tar Creeper
No, the scarabs or spiders that he summons are beast, if you drop him before Wiching Hour, you will have 1/3 chance to resummon Hanadrox, and you dont want that
This deck seems cursed tbh. Hadronox is always in the bottom 5 cards its ridiculous.
This is just a joke, you can't play in this meta without ooze and silences and paladins that destroys the ladder and OP hunters that will kill you on turn 4 will make you play doomsayers when the meta will stable, because it is the only way that druid can clear the board. Now people turned on their brain and started playing Skulking Geist vs Cubelocks and this druid so its even harder. And this deck must play one in my opinion
I've not found a need for Doomsayer yet or what to even replace it with. This deck has a 50% winrate against Paladins (not good I know) and a 77% winrate against Hunters though so you must be doing something wrong to constantly lose to these two classes.
This deck gives you a lot of opportunities to make mistakes and you must be aware of that. From ramping up to baiting the opponents removals.
Your deck is pretty solid i like it but meta is still not stable. I took legend from 10 rank in 8 hours on Cubelock because of idiots testing useless shit. I am sure that after new meta snapshot Cubelocks and Control Warlocks will dominate the ladder and you will not be able to play without Acidic Swamp Ooze and silences,Skulking Geist i assume will be used too in control. This is the pain in the ladder - Warlock will not step aside.
I just went to rank 5 with a slightly different list. No Silence, no Doomsayers. Just play the long game and crush them with value. NOthing feels better than beating Cubelock at their own game
Ironbark Protector or Sleepy Dragon
I run a similar Version. Instead of Cubes I use 2 corpse raiders and Savage Roar Instead of A second Witching Hour. The Savage Roar Really helps for pulling that high damage turn just after Hydronox. Been using this deck since Rank 5, Currently at 2. Happy Hunting.
hm seems really bad imo, witch hour + cube for immediately taunts is pretty good though
Yeah true, I am currently trying out 1 cube instead of the Savage Roar. My win rate against Control is better now.
This thing seems interesting. Did you consider Void Ripper for some late game burst?
No, I did not, it interferes with Oaken Summons. You can try a second Branching Paths or Savage Roar instead
