Nana here to showcase his anti-aggro deck. This is not the first time I've tried to make taunt druid work. The other time I did I got to top 200 legend with it quite easily. proof
Just coached my brother to legend with this updated list. He got there with a 61% winrate. So if you are struggling to get there this final week this is the deck to go for :) hf
Let me show you how this would work:
Core cards;
I'm sure you can see the synergies without me pointing them out.
Here's a simple mulligan
Note: Don't keep Master Oakheart unless you have the needed ramp in your mulligan phase
A little in-depth mulligan against aggro or control decks, these are of the highest priority
Against Control: Keep, Master Oakheart, Nourish, Oaken Summons and Wild Growth
Against Aggro: Keep, Lesser Jasper Spellstone, Oaken Summons, Wrath, Swipe and Wild Growth
Gameplan;
Ramp up quickly with Wild Growth and Nourish, get your taunts out there and whittle your opponent down.
Later in the game look for combos like;
Hadronox now summons;
Tips Section
Against Aggro, ramp as quickly as possible and put your taunts down.
You can Drop your Hadronox into a Doomsayer if you have enough dead Taunts to deny your opponent setup time
Hadronox + Naturalize is going to win you a lot of games, you should not throw your Hadronox into a silence because you're impatient. Also don't waste your Naturalize every time you need something to disappear, you have a lot of armor for a reason
Branching Paths can give you a lethal you might not realize afterHadronox Vomits
You can put Hadronox down without naturalize if you're playing against a non-mage/non-shaman deck and cube it later. If they silence and kill it just play your Witching Hour and Cube that
That's all for now
Leave your suggestions/thoughts/questions in the comments below. Thanks
I guess you could. It would make the deck more combo oriented though since you have to wait for a deathrattle card to come around.
It would be drawn out by Oaken Summons so you have to keep that in mind. The card doesn't fit in taut druid but recruit druid but I guess you could make a hybrid
Congratulations on making both a good and FUN deck for druid (seriously, what a boring class to play - you managed to make it quite enjoyable). I have to say its quite consistent overall, and as of right now, I can't find much to say against it. Since I had only one Astral Tiger, I squeezed a Carnivorous Cube that performed moderately well.
Baku Hunter is a piece of cake to manage, and surprisingly, Shudderwock shaman too. The only "tough" deck to work around was Kingsbane rogue, but I doubt it's a popular deck right now.
Nourish yes, Greedy Sprite no
Paladin replay link is incorrect.
Works Fine for me
the reply is with a hunter but a good game nonetheless
I am playing similar deck, with two notable changes:
1. I've cut Ferocious Howl for Wrath - I feel like i preffer to have access to dmg / cycle than armor / cycle
2. I've added Carnivorous Cube for better synergy with our deathrattle cards
The Astral Tiger doesn't keep buffs and any kind wouldn't fit in the deck
Don't you think one Evolving Spores or one Bittertide Hydra would fit in this deck?
no
I'm not really sure but I think it might. You can try it and share the results with us
Hmm, I'm running a similar Hadronox taunt Druid using many of the same cards. I'm not frankly sure about your inclusion of other beasts. I have only Hadronox, which means the Witching Hour cards are auto pulls. I go with Carnivorous Cubes to double up on Hadronox.
The way I am playing the deck, I can flood the board with taunts almost endlessly, and I always Kill Hadronox instantly to get his deathrattle and avoid silence.
Your deck seems more mid range balanced though. Will be interesting to see what the meta shakes down to.
Just for comparison...
Spell stone would be a good addition if I start having issues with Aggro. As of right now the only deck I have a losing rate to is Rogue, and I still don't have a good handle on what Rogues are doing in this meta, so I'm going to wait to make any changes.
Stonehill is hugely important. Getting it pulled from an Oaken Summons isn't preferable, but they give you a shot at finding another powerful taunt if your Lich King gets hexed or polymorphed. Ironbark protector is often offered (class taunts are favoured by stonehill) and it is a great body to slam down if Lich King gets hexed, or better yet, slam him down first to take the hex and then drop the lich king.
Greedy sprites are in there for ramp. I'm trying to kill the Shamans before their crazy combos. If the meta speeds up a bit, shaman will disappear and then the sprites can probably become spell stones.
Hi dude do u think lichking is a must or are there alternatives?
Ironbark protector, but it will not be as powerful.
It's not a must but there is no card quite like this one for this deck. As Matthias said you can replace it with the Ironbark
Thanks
do you think Splintergraft would be good here? turn 9 Hadronox into turn 10 Splintergraft which gives you one more copy of Hadronox, and works around silence as well.
nope, I actually don't think so. It's too slow
Could try Zola the Gorgon.
